I have to say.... Out of all the talk about tips wearing out and producing more overspray and a more oval spray fan ect ect ect that I've heard over the last 20years.... This video is hands down the greatest visual representation I've seen of it so far! Makes me want to run out and grab some nice fresh fflp tips! 😆👍 There is nothing better than a brand new 308, 208, and 410.
Thanks for all your help over this last year it’s really helped with my refurb I’ve been doing, my handheld graco just packed up with one room to go annoyingly, guessing it’s the pump as it was second hand when I bought it, keep it up mate 👍
You’re very welcome my friend, so pleased to hear you’ve embraced spraying and have had success.. that is annoying, sorry to hear your bad luck.. yeah the handheld Triax pump has a lifecycle and considered a ‘consumable’ to be easily swapped out.. if I had a spare Triax pump I’d have gladly sent you one ..consider buying a replacement though from SpraymanUK, they do last if not overworked and looked after correctly 👍 all the best, keep in touch.. regards Pete
Yeah along with the narrower fan, the sign for me recently was I felt a bit more paint was being sprayed.. I’ve got a new FF LP 308 with your name on it my friend 👍😆🙏
Nice video pete i always wondered when is it time to change tips out,do any tips come with a guide for how many litres of spraying is recommended for that particular tip wether its water based or oil based before checking for signs of wear?or is it you just check them visually
Hey Edmond, great to hear from you.. it is a tricky one to give a definitive answer, oil / and stains you’ll get roughly twice the volume sprayed. So many factors effect the lifecycle, even paint quality such as ‘cheaper’ paints will shorten the life, spraying at higher pressure and poor tip cleaning will also have a negative impact.. for me, visually, seeing a narrower (perhaps rounder) fan, heavier atomisation and more paint being output are good indicators.. especially with fine finish tips, they’re smaller orifice by design so will wear quicker ..it’s worth not compromising the finish 😆 ..regards Pete 🙏
Does this video help at all my friend 😊 .. Graco Airless Spray Gun Spitting? You Could Have The Wrong RAC X Seal ua-cam.com/video/7jCl91jFpBw/v-deo.html
Hi Enrique.. I’m a big fan of the Graco cordless technology in their handheld sprayers.. I do very much recommend the investment ..just remember, they’re aimed at smaller projects and touch ups and to compliment the bigger family airless sprayers.. if overworked the Triax pump technology can wear prematurely, if you’re looking at bigger projects, whole houses / big rooms / ceilings / exteriors (fences).. id look at the GX range, the latest addition being the GXFF Cordless, powered by the bigger Dewalt Flexvolt batteries.. hope this answers your question, I’m happy to help any way I can 👍 regards Pete
Hi Pete, I'm back home in Baja, Mexico. As always, your video is very good. Do you have any idea how much paint you applied with the old FFLP tip before you noticed its wear? Hug and good vibes. Enrique.
Hey Enrique, thanks so much for the kind words of support 🇲🇽🙏 ..good question.. it’s tricky to say how much extra paint is used, especially spraying a fine finish.. you kind of get used to the product your spraying, ..how quick (or slow) I’m able to move the gun to lay on the optimal coat, and spot if more paint is being output.. Along with a test spray on brown paper, you can spot a narrower than expected fan .. all the best my friend.. keep in touch, regards Pete 🙏
hi buddy ... you ok ... i was woundering when useing your bigger airless machines or your handheld gun do you score the top of the tips with a knife to show how many times you used them or write it down?
Hey Gareth, hope you’re well my friend.. keeping a log on you’re phone is not a bad idea, especially when new to spraying.. but it can be hard to track when you’re spraying every day and the tips can spray a lot of material (depending on various factors).. it perhaps helps to look out for the signs, you do start to notice when something is not quite right.. such as more paint transferred and a narrower fan 👍 all the best buddy.. regards Pete
@@PaintHQ awesome thanks for the advice my friend ... the one video you done with wagner 515 hea tip i went out i brought one then i had a client who wanted his stairs and landing sprayed in white matt ...it was very narrow and very high ... its no way you could of done it with brush and roller ... 3 hours later with 2 coat and 7 litres of paint the finish was awesome ... client was pleased with it ... i just want to say thank you for all your help 🙏

The cost - benefit of that Graco is acceptable, do you recommend it?
