    Great job pete,thats what you call a supreme finish compared to brush and roller which is what i mainly use,the ulta max really comes into its own for a project like that,you got such clean lines against the grout at top of shower tiles!those radiators are a nighmare to paint behind😮they never seem to think of the poor painter who has to try and get a finish behind them!!

      Thank you Eddie, really good to hear from you.. yeah I’ve painted many bathrooms with a brush / roller in years gone by - you’re right, it’s tricky with s brush along a rough grout line and behind rads are a pain 😩 ..masking didn’t take long on this, and spraying it in was certainly very quick and less labour intensive 👍 Hope you’re keeping well my friend 💙💯 regards Pete

    Hi Pete. I came to the Graco via Peter Millard at The 10 Minute Workshop. Like him, I'm a carpenter/builder that was looking for a better paint finish than a roller.
    I've had no end of small issues with it !, but with perseverance, and your video tips and tricks, the desired finishes are starting to show. There is so much to take in and learn compared to getting out the tray and roller !!! 😂😂😂😂

      It’s great to hear from a carpenter.. Whilst my dad wasn’t a professional carpenter, my dad all his life has been a tools enthusiast and loves woodworking.. so I have the upmost respect for the trade.. I admire you for striving for the ultimate finish - airless (handheld or a bigger pump), is certainly the easiest technology to master.. but like anything, ‘it’s easy when you know’.. well done for your perseverance 👏👏 thanks for your kind feedback 🙏 always feel free to reach out if you think I can offer any help or guidance.. regards Pete 💙💯

    Hi Pete. Great video, I think this unit was designed for bathrooms. I think that's what I've used mine on the most, also spindles on small stair cases. I've still not tried the kip tape. I'm using deltec purple or masq. But I'm a big fan of yellow frog tape. It's never let me down. The johnos durable is amazing for new plaster work as well. Amazing job, looks great. 👌🏻

      You’re so kind, I very much appreciate your continued support.. The Triax II boasts 3x more service, versus its predecessor - it’s certainly worth factoring in the price of a replacement when pricing a job.. ie adding £5 - £10 to projects using the HH, you soon have the money to replace such consumable items, including airless spray tips 👍

      amzn.eu/d/iWl6NL9
      ..Thanks for watching the videos and supporting PaintHQ, it’s very much appreciated my friend 🙏
      Great choice with the FFLP 208 💙 Regarding the 206, a couple of things.. it’s only for low viscosity / free flowing materials.. very thin / water like, that’s spray only 👍 Other thing is the UQS supports a minimum .008, as I’ve demonstrated a .006 works very well with the UQS.. but there’s a ‘sweet spot’ to dialling in the pressure.. basically.006 tips take a bit more pressure to get the material through, but too much pressure with the UQS and the prime valve can open (to protect the pump).. if you’re interested I’m happy to help sone more.. I’ll have to make a future video on the UQS and FFLP 106 / 206 tips 🤔 ..Keep in touch.. regards Pete 💙💯

      I’m just about to embark on my first whole house job. Client wants the same colour a slight off white for everything..ceilings, walls & woodwork.
      Looking at Johnstone’s Covaplus for ceilings, Johnstone’s Durable Acrylic Matt for walls & Benjamin Moore Scuff X for woodwork. The woodwork is currently an oil based gloss.
      I’m going to use the Quickshot for the woodwork. What primer & top coat would you recommend?
      It’s quite a small 4 bed for example staircase although covers 3 flights only has 21 spindles so very confident Quickshot will be fine.

    Hello, if you would be so kind, how can I dilute the enamel or oil paint? I have a Gracco 360. The question is about the fact that the thinner is quite flammable and the manufacturer says that it is not flammable liquids. I live in Venezuela and we dilute that type of paint with thinner. They have also told me that with kerosene. I need to clarify that, please and thank you.

    Hi Pete,thanks again for all the videos very helpful,be lost without you 😂.wondered if you could advise me on the best products to use,I’ve been asked to do a bungalow internal repaint to help out a friend. It was a smokers house so there is some nicotine stains on walls and ceilings,they want it all white ,with a durable Matt for ceilings and walls and the previous oil painted doors and woodwork they want doing in a water based system, they also have some new bare mdf kitchen doors that need I presume sealing ,and then painting in a specific farrow and ball colour, so I was wondering what the best products and the process to use on all of the above, I’m thinking of spraying everything if I don’t loose my bottle, I’ve got a Wagner 350 extra and a graco ultra handheld at my disposal which I bought with all the best intentions but always found an excuse not to use them. Sorry for such a long winded post, thanks again for all advice your channel provides us all. Cheers kenny

      Hey Kenny.. thank you for watching and supporting PaintHQ 🙏 I’d recommend a stain blocking primer first, such as Zinsser Cover Stain.. another option, is Johnstones StainAway, whilst I haven’t used this product yet, I am a fan of Johnstones Trade paints 👍 ..that leads me to my next recommendation - Johnstones Acrylic Durable Matt for creating a durable matt finish in white on your walls and ceilings 👍 For woodwork, check out the video description below - I recommend a high build primer (great for sealing mdf), and an enamel topcoat.. by spray beautifully in the Graco HH, with a 208, 308 or 408 FFLP tip 👍 I link to where to purchase the products, and a PaintHQ discount code 👍

    Pete i needs help. I keeps my tritect t5 only in water based. I need another sprayer for oil based only. Im thinking of cleanshot or gxff cordless for site work. What would you recommend. Thanks mate.

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  6 місяців тому

      Hey buddy, I’d rule out the QuickShot for site work, even though you’re looking for s dedicated unit for woodwork / joinery (I guess internal doors too).. a Graco cordless 54v Flexvolt unit would be very suitable.. I’m leaning towards a Cordless GXFF, one of my favourite units.. with a built in hopper, smaller 7.5m 3/16” hose and the awesome PC Compact gun, it’s very suited to painting trim.. added advantage over a bigger Cordless 390, is a very cost effective replacement pump (if/when needed).. whilst a 390 is typically more suited to site work, the GX (GXFF) units are extremely reliable and certainly suited to spraying woodwork / oil based paints 👍 ..let me know how you get on, keep in touch.. regards Pete 💙💯

    Hi fella great video I'm just a diyer who hates decorating but loves spraying, would you recommend the Graco airless over a fuji or wagner HVLP ? would appreciate your thoughts

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  6 місяців тому

      Hey buddy, it’s great to hear from a DIYer 💙 ..In short, yes I would recommend a Graco Handheld over the units you mention.. Those units being air (turbine) driven HVLP, Vs the Graco HH being airless - airless is far easier ..you’re not needing to thin your woodwork paints, and balance air / fluid.. if you’re only wanting to spray waterborne paint, you could opt for the cheaper ‘Ultra’ model (the UltraMax in this video is WB and solvent).. or if funds stretch, you could go for the Graco Ultra QuickShot - same airless technology but even easier and quicker to use, and more comparable to a traditional airless hopper fed unit 👍 ..All these suggestions are perfect for smaller projects, woodwork, doors, runs of skirting and also stretches to spraying emulsion on small ceilings and feature walls (which you can’t with HVLP).. hope this helps, let me know how you get on.. happy to help further 💙💯 regards Pete

    Also how soon dk you remove tape after final coat
    Thanks

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  6 місяців тому

      Good question my friend.. there’s no real issues between coats and how the Kip masking performs.. in this example I sprayed woodwork primer one day and topcoats the next.. as for removing masking, I take down relatively soon after I’ve finished ..as it’s drying but not waiting till it’s fully dry - it’s when it’s fully dry you could risk ‘bridging’ of paint.. thanks for your input buddy - happy to help if I can, regards Pete

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  6 місяців тому

      Hi Richard, yeah 514 for walls / ceilings / spraying emulsion.. just benefits from a little easing by adding a splash or 2 of water.. then 410 will suit F&B eggshell, which is thicker in viscosity because it can be brushed / rolled.. no thinning though with woodwork paints - whereas I use .008 tips such as the 408 because I’m spraying low viscosity / very thin spray only products.. in the video you see it run off the stick like water.. thanks for your input buddy, keep in touch.. regards Pete

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  6 місяців тому

      @richardchelton4086 you’re right, fan width could be around 8”, but probably be less / a little squashed.. in theory a 310 is more suited, but you’ll find a 410 could save you purchasing an additional tip.. other thing to note, like in the video ..the paint let out of a .010 orifice is the same across 110, 210, 310, 410 - but the distribution across the fan width is thinner with the bigger 410.. an extreme example is a 110 Vs a 410.. a 110, you would have to move super quick to avoid paint runs 😩 ..a 410 is better, but you need to consider ‘overspray’ ..it’s a balance between the two.. hope this helps, regards Pete

    Hello, I also have a ultramaxx and I use it more for wood work on the site. I have a question if it is possible. I tried to exchange a 514 ff lp with a smaller 310 but it does not work well. How much should the primer be diluted and what fitrer mesh I should use? Thanks

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi Juliano, happy to help if I can my friend.. spraying woodwork / trim, I don’t thin.. I only thin emulsion / latex paint, just a bit to ease and help lower the pressure.. so for woodwork, you would mostly use a 310 tip with the blue 100 mesh filter.. you say it doesn’t work, what happens?.. if your primer is thick, you could benefit from a 312, or 412 .. but usually a paint that can be also brushed / rolled, you use a 310 / 410.. blue 100 mesh for woodwork paints - black 60 mesh for walls / ceilings (emulsion / latex paints) 👍 thank you for your feedback.. keep in touch, regards Pete 💙💯
