Funfact on that one: Portugal originally came early into the lead against the German Co-host, but singlehandedly RUINED their 1-0 lead themselves by the halftime by making two own goals. The only other match, which had 2 OGs last EURO, was Spain vs Slovakia, where Slovakia scored 2 OGs.

@@avel12353 Perisic and especially Vida won't play much. Modric is phenomenon. The rest in still not old. ( but they are experienced). Today players have longer careers than before. Kramaric and Budimir had very good seasons in their clubs. Our defense in very young, and I think this time Dalic will give more chance to younger players in midfield ( Sucic, Majer, Baturina)

All these people underestimating the Netherlands every time is funny. Form leading up to the tournament is important as well. They beat Iceland 4-0 when England lost 1-0 to them and only managed to get one shot on goal but you predict they beat the Netherlands 2-0. Beat Canada 4-0 as well while France only managed a meager 0-0.

Love that Maqwell is wearing the Guatemala kit 🇬🇹
Maxwell's curse strikes again. I still remembered how he made a crazy predictions for the 2022 World Cup Final, where Brazil and Denmark played against each other. Denmark were dead last in the group and Brazil lost to Croatia in the quarterfinals.
After the first 4 games were played, the scorelines were completely different. Scotland got battered 1-5 by the Germans, defending champions Italy only won 2-1 after suffering an early Albanian setbacks (the fastest ever goals scored in the tournament), Croatia were so mess against Spain with Modric ghosted throughout that game, and Hungary lost 1-3 to Switzerland.
A few mistakes you noticed:
1.Spain faced Germany in the Euro 2008 Final and won by Fernando Torres' sole goal It was Italy who played against Spain in the 2012 Final (and Spain demolished them 4-0), but we could have a possible repeat of the last edition's Euro Final because Italy's opponents in the semifinal at that time was Germany (they won 2-1 by Mario Balotelli's brace).
2.Portugal faced Germany in the last Euro's group stage, where the Germans won 4-2 in Munich. Ironically, the semifinal's venue if these two teams met each other in this Euro will be played in Munich. Two of four German goals scored at that time were actually Portugal's gifts. Portugal also couldn't beat the Germans in the 2006 World Cup, Euro 2008, and Euro 2012. The last time Portugal overcame Germany was in Euro 2000 group stage.

@@lamp2391 You're not wrong, but I feel like this gets said about Portugal at every tournament and with the exception of 2016 (where they also didn't play well for the most part, although in this case it didn't really matter in the end since they won anyway) it feels like they very rarely actually get very far in those big tournaments (tho now that I took a look at the stats from the last few Euros again it looks a lot better than I remembered lol). They definitely do have potential, but I would be very surprised if they made it past the quarter finals (or even the round of 16 depending on their draw). Then again, my statement could age very badly

The penalty shoot out tie break only comes into play if said teams are both playing each other on the last matchday of the group. So there wouldn’t be a shootout but Denmark would be placed second as they have the higher uefa ranking.

I don't understand how everyone keeps making the mistake of putting the 8 most likely teams to be in the quarter finals. Reminder, last year France lost to Switzerland, Netherlands lost to Czechia, Italy very nearly lost to Austria, and Denmark were in the semi finals where they played neck and neck between England. Also in 2016, England lost to ICELAND, France played really close with Ireland, and Wales beat Belgium in the quarters with Poland taking Portugal to pens.
Basically, if a France vs England final actually somehow happens I'll post a paragraph on every Maqwell video for a month after the final on how much of a masterful genius he is and how much I love him (It's not happening, btw Hungary gonna be in the final)

I have Czechia and Hungary reaching the semis and England crashing out in the last 16...I may be very wrong but upsets happen pretty regularly, and recently, there's been an increasing number of dark horses at every single major tournament.

My predictions - and tbh I don’t mind being proven wrong on this:
- Scotland (2nd) gets out of the group with Germany (1st) and Hungry (3rd). Scotland will go pretty far and get to the Quarters.
- Slovenia, Georgia, Slovakia, Hungary will be dark horses. Don’t sleep on Slovakia and Slovenia as they have very adaptable squads and might go deep in the knockout rounds.
- More than one big team will mess up: Italy and Portugal I predict will mess up due to pressure. They’ve had underlining problems (especially Italy) and I feel like they will be shown now. Portugal will get out of the group but I can see Italy crashing in the group. I wouldn’t be surprised if Germany or England do too but I hope not because we all want to see how those teams deal with knockout pressure games.
- Croatia will crash out to a Balkan’s rival like Serbia in early Serbia. Or have a shock loss to Albania but I really do think Albania will just crash and burn sadly
- Belgium will finally deliver and go far with their Tintin kit!
- I think Spain is the team that can cause some real sh*t. Like they’re going to derail somethings. It might be derailing Modric’s songsong, disturbing England’s chances, embarrassing Germany during their comeback stage or just gaining wins under their belt without people taking them seriously. They have no big superstar but they’re probs the team if I was a player I would want to be in. Pure teamwork and 100% chemistry!
- England will win the group with Slovenia and Serbia. Denmark will crash out the group stage - one big team does and I think the Danes are the ones because they’re either too young or old.
- Group D is the ‘group of death’. I think Poland will be 1st and Lewi will deliver! France will be 2nd - I love the French but I think they’re downfall is complacency and they will face that soon after winning literally everything! Netherlands is 3rd - underrated but just not as good as they were back in 2010. They need a Van Persie/Robben regen but love to my Dutch brothers. Austria will lose to all three games - total wipe out and Ralph will be sacked for Hasenhüttl.
- Slovakia will go far past the group as dark horses (don’t sleep on them) but Belgium will win the group and it will be tight (I mean real tight - like GD tight) between Ukraine and Romania for that 3rd spot. That will be the most pivotal group stage game.
- I think Turkey will continue to fail. They just don’t have the right structure - very toxic. I think the Portugal will get through but will crash out soon after. I think Georgia will finish 3rd and Czechia will be 2nd. But I can see Georgia pulling off miracles this year like getting a wins against rivals Turkey and Czechia as well as a possible draw against Portugal.

Correction to something you said in the semifinals section: Germany and Portugal did play in against each other in the 2020 Euro, but Germany won that match, not Portugal.
In fact, Portugal is on quite the losing streak in tournaments against Germany, having lost to them at World Cup 2006, Euro 2008, Euro 2012, World Cup 2014 and Euro 2020.
The last time we beat them was all the way back in Euro 2000.
I know it's not very exciting but when predicting results alot of people overlook the 0-0 draws, even though in international football when managers are unwilling to take many risks, games tend to be defensive
