I had this one as a kid. As the previous guy stated, it reminds me of an International Scout as well. In fact thats why I got it when I was a kid. There was a Scout Commercial narrated by Tom Bosley that was always on tv at the time, and when I saw that car in K&B I had to have it. Seeing these little cars magnified on the tv screen adds a whole new dimension in which to admire them. To me, it’s even more fun than holding the real toy, because I can see every tiny detail.
I like the idea of using a cocktail stick for painting in fine detail. I get the feeling (in my own case at least) it'd be easier to control than a brush. Excellent result as always!
Nice little model, no primer though on a yellow color, no wonder it took three coats. One little thing, the spare could have been done with a touch of red on the rim to better match. Just one mans thought. Thanks for sharing this video with me and please keep them coming in.
Looks great, I never would have thought about using a toothpick for those fine details. After watching about 90% of your videos I’m going to try one of my own soon and will definitely be using that method!
Nice work! I have a different version of this, the only difference is that mine doesn;t not have working steering, it's just a standard superfast base. I think it's superfast anyway. The new paint job on yours really brings out the detail Matchbox put into the casting with door handles, rear number plate, petrol caps. Nice casting.
Great job on this one Rob, the paint came out smooth as glass! This was in prime condition for a resto, most of these you see have a damaged or missing top as well as missing tyres.
Nice job! I had one with a Matchbox Country Playset, unfortunately after myself, my daughter, and quite a few other kids have played with it the tow is missing. My grandchildren have no way to pull the Horse Trailer.
I see I'm not the only one who thinks this is a Scout 800. It looks so much like the one a friend of mine had for a plow truck. The grille looks to be something matchbox did to due to licensing issues with International. Looks great all cleaned up and painted.
Great car except for those red wheels. It came with Superfast wheels after 1968 and it looked much better! Love the yellow paint restored as done by Matchbox but would have painted the plastic rims black. Probably would have made a windscreen for it too, but that is just me going one step further.👍🏻👍🏻🍻
Minor touches it's like day and night compared to what it was 50 years ago I happen to have an original you've always don't extremely well well done my friend what can I say
Yeah agree with previous comment. 'Harvester International' built a lot of no nonsense, tough go anywhere type vehicles. Not sure if it was a brand known in the UK, but was popular in SA with farmers, game rangers etc? Excellent resto👍🙂
I always liked the red wheels on the field car. My father has a transition ‘superfast’ field car, and subsequently without the red wheels I feel like it lacks a certain amount of character. Nice to see your restoration on one of the most unique models in my opinion!
Just wondered where you got spare wheels from? Or what size should look for (just starting out), plus missing spare rear tyre. The video was excellent nice result.
it reminds me of an international scout 800, and this little guy turned out good in the yellow.
Superb. I can see this in a toy store as a child and begging my parents for it. Beautiful.
Your little minor touches make me want to take paint to all of my HotWheels/Matchbox cars. They really make them look SO much better.
It's nice to see these old classics looking as good as new if not better with those little extra touches.
You must have found one of the only models in existence without a bent roof!
Another car from my childhood, glad you kept it original
Your restaurations are awsome, another brilliant rescue. Nice model, despite the yellow colour. 👍

You are the reason i started my own restoration hobby

Excellent result as always!
you do a great paint job the field car looks great il send you some more pics of my restos
Excellent Restoration, the added detail does so much for the looks of the vehicle. Thanks for sharing
EXCELLENT again, we had this type of lorry (truck) in our motor pool, made by International harvester in the army.
I see the 50/50 paint thinning ratio has worked very well. Great to see. Provides a much more 'scale' finish.
I always use 50/50 with Enamel paint 😎
Beautiful job, Rob!!! It looks brand new!! Love your detail work!!
Super clean restoration. Lovely paint and detail work. Very nice.

Good luck mate 👍🏼
the result looks way better than i expected
As always Rob. Super job! That yellow really pops.

Nice job!

I've always liked this casting, and your "restoration plus" was perfect for it!
Very good restoration! Looks like a fun time fixing this up.🤠
I see I'm not the only one who thinks this is a Scout 800. It looks so much like the one a friend of mine had for a plow truck. The grille looks to be something matchbox did to due to licensing issues with International. Looks great all cleaned up and painted.
Nicely done Rob. I had this car when I was small but it lost the plastic roof along the way.
Beautiful restoration Rob, it looked brand-new when you were done!
Nice job, keep up the good work. This truck looks like a International truck.
Great job. Just the proper amount of personal touches
Awesome mate! Elegant in its simplicity - looks outstanding
That's one of the nicest little resto's Iv'e seen you do . tip. paint the spare wheel rim to match the others, perfect!
I considered it

Wow, super clean resto, it looks great!

Excellent restoration and video as always well done
Excellent restoration “+”!! Even though not original, the extra painted in details really set it off nicely! Great job!
Neat job ... Simple , but improved with little details . Knowing when to stop being the secret ... 👍🏻🤓
Luv your work! I have both ‘69 yellow and army green versions to now resto, following your tutorial;)
Excellent restoration Field car 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Turned out quite spiffy! The field car has had a bit of a touch up for its age.

Looks awesome as usual! Reminds me of one that I used to play with as a kid.
Lovely restoration
Smashed that grille, sir. This looks completely original.
Looks good, yes it does look like a old I.H.C. Scout I had mine was a right hand drive unit.
Fantastic result as always!
Very clean job, really love it......👍
I noticed you did not prime this model, which made the restoration look much more original. Well done.
Excellent job, looks great!!!!

Thanks Juan 😎
Stunning Rob. Thank you
Superb result!
11:16 back license plate yellow and the front one white?
Turned out beautiful
Nailed the colour, a great looking car, got a couple of these, the plastic roof is missing on both, as are all the tyres.
Nice Job, Rob!!! 👍
Nice restoration!
Funny looking model, I like it!
