Had my tr160 delivered a few weeks ago, with triple screen mount, keyboard mount, mouse tray drinks holder the works. Had absolutely no issues, all boxes arrived no damage had all required parts and bolts nothing missing. I ordered some more screws and corner brackets to make some mods for button boxes etc, and they sent me extras of all the extra things I'd ordered. Couldn't be happier. And thanks for the discount code cause I used it both times, I think I saved over $150 and was then able to use trak racers loyalty points to get the extra screws and bits I wanted. Again, couldn't be happier thanks Trak Racer team and good review Will and Tom cheers
I’ve taken delivery of a TR160 in the UK a few days ago. I have just opened the packaging and wanted to let folk know that the supplied T-nuts are of the spring ball variety - I was very pleased to see this, as it was the one thing I didn’t like in the reviews I saw online vs some other well know makers. Good to see this improvement in the rig, so please, I had to pause my build to post the news here
slight update - there were a few T-nuts with the spring leaf with a different diameter hole that had to be used in one area - but only 4 of them. All of the rest were of the sprung ball variety. One potential 'gotcha' for others to watch out for is that there are 16mm & 20mm length caphead screws supplied. In the assembly instructions, if a washer + spring washer are required you need to use the 20mm, if no washer, then use the 16mm.
Same. Mine also came with the spring ball. One of my accessories came with the spring type and they are fine but definitely not as good. Also the latest instructions are fantastic. Also shows measurements in mm and inches which helps if your in the US. We use both measurements, but most tape measures are in inches.
Great video as always. For me, Trak Racer included the spring ball T-Nuts. I purchased a few weeks ago, and was impressed with almost everything. Solid, well designed, great instructions (Looks like the they were updated on 7/11/2022), etc. Had an issue with seat sliders, but TR took care of it quickly and without questions. The covers, however, were horrible and fall off just like you showed. I got the other pedal plate (Aluminum profile with heel plate) with my Sprints mounted directly, and no noticeable flex. I also have no flex in the standard wheel deck, but in fairness I use an Accuforce, so doesn't output as much as the DD2. IMO, this is a "lifetime rig". Also, received a lot of extra bolts with nothing missing. Keep up the good work!!!
I am in Melbourne, Australia and bought a TR160 this year. 1. Being a UA-cam professional reviewer must get you better access to TrakRacer than the ordinary punter. Every one of my emails either got no response or took over a week for a response. I made numerous phone calls; one was answered, the rest rang out. 2. I have the direct drive mount with a Simucube 2 Pro. It is 16mm solid steel - much beefier than the Fanatec mount and absolutely zero flex. 3. I have the pedal plate mounted low and close to the profile - no flex whatsoever at that location. I am surprised to see Will's move so much. 4. I have the GT seat. It is too wide and jams the sliders with the tracks set in the default position. If you move the tracks apart to accommodate, the adjustment lever falls out. 5. I have the integrated 3 screen monitor stand. I can get the monitors aligned well but it sags terribly front to back (probably 10 cm) and is just not up to the job. This item is to throw away and I will buy something else. My conclusion - it's definitely cheaper than a P1-X but a P1-X is likely better value if you can afford it (I wish I had bought one).
Anthony cook, i'm sorry to read your issues with our support. a simple fix for the seat slider issue is to mount the corner brackets on the inside of the profile under the seat (not the outside). you will find you get a lot more adjustment and it will be perfect for our seat.
Great review, as usual your attention to detail is 2nd to none. This rig looks good and the additional adjustability has been well thought out which makes it attractive to people. The great thing about profile is that it allows you to adjust everything to suit your personal preference instead of you having to adjust to the limitations of the rig.
Very nice review Will - thanks! I've had a small amount of experience with TrakRacer's customer service, and found Matt to be very helpful. I have a triple monitor stand of theirs which was missing a couple of small parts, and Matt promptly sent them out to me. He also made sure by confirmation emails and photos they we both understood which parts were needed, which I was impressed with.
Great review, honest as always. My only previous experience with Trak Racer was their triple monitor mount. This was 4 years ago. It had missing parts, bolts the wrong size, the instructions were lacking detail, and I could never get the monitors to sit level with each other, as the outer monitors were bowed downwards, due to the bad design; overall it was a shoddy product that honestly wasn't fit for purpose. It went in the bin a while ago. It seems the quality control issues are still there. The issues you've pointed out - and for the price they're asking - I can't see why anyone would choose this over a P1-X.
@@anthonycook4444 I would recommend that you have someone hold up the arm while you tighten. Reach out to us at support@trakracer.com if you can't solve this.
I received my TR160 a few weeks ago, with triple screen monitor stand. No scratches on the aluminum, all parts were included and a few extra nuts and bolts in the bag. I should have ordered the keyboard tray too. I included the GT style seat (I am 6'1 (1.85M) and it fits perfect. I have a fair share of automotive / mechanical experience and found the instruction manual more than enough for assembly (you mileage may vary). Get a combo square if you don't have one (great tip from you Will). I should have ordered the keyboard tray too I had one minor issue with a bent piece of steel. Matt and Johan were fast to respond to email and shipped the parts in less than a week. Overall great experience from when I placed the order till my first drive.
Thank you for what I'm sure is an honest review--not all rainbows and unicorns, there are bound to be some minor blemishes here and there. This review really helped me with my decision, I pulled the trigger on a TR160 and a bunch of other goodies earlier today. Received tracking numbers the same day. Sounds like the team at TrakRacer is out there to stand by their product.
@@nextrider123 Love it, no regrets. New "Mk4" pedal deck revision looks even better than what I have, but I've been using simtrecs pedals for the past 9 months and even the pedal deck I have has been great. Have seat and pedal sliders as well so my 7yo son can get his seat time. Probably ~8hrs of use a week for a year now. Had held up great, no major issues. Highly recommend. Trakracer support was great in my experience--happily resolved any minor issues I had with haste. 👍👍
Looks like a great chassis with back to earth pricing. Any negative feedback to Trak Racer is only going to help further improve. Very healthy circle of info. Appreciate the transparent review.
Great review Will, as always. I ordered my Sim-Lab P1-X (Black Friday/November 12% discount) "right before" I saw this video. While I was initially concerned I might have jumped the gun, your video just reinforced my buying decision. It's unfortunate that Trak Racer still has parts issues even for it's reviewers. Your video reveals some areas where it appears they might be getting their price down by cutting a few corners. However, nobody is purchasing aluminum profile with the expectation and acceptance of possible flex in their Sim Rig. Thanks again for a great and straightforward review.
We haven't cut any corners. We will be taking this feedback on board to make the product even better. Fanatec mount is easy to update and new stock will have this. Our pre-drilled pedal plate (included in the price of the TR160) will have a minor tweak to make it stronger than anything on the market.
Started building my TR160 today...thank you so much to Will and Tom for the build videos, they were a godsend when the terrible assembly guide was offering nothing....but bloody hell it is still a mission to build haha. Doesn't help also when they have been constantly updating parts of the kit, so the parts supplied don't always match the assembly guides.
thanks for perserving. we are constantly improving our products so it's difficult to keep up until now, we have just hired a full time manual engineer so you'll see a lot of good stuff coming from us in the way of documentation.
Have had my tr160 for a month now. One box was damaged when it arrived. On Thursday. Trak racer had another one sent out straight away which arrived on the Monday. Very happy with mine using dd2 and don't seem to have the same flex in dd2 mount or pedal plate. I did have a few brackets missing but they have sent me a bag with extras so now have spares. Happy with my choice. As far as the manuals go I didnt have any real issues but I guess that depends if you are mechanically minded.
Only sharing my experience. Only criticism would be replying to emails. But whenever I picked up the phone and called it was sorted straight away. And I know you had a lot of orders to catch up on. As far as the flex in the pedal plate I think you may get slightly more flex if you mount them high. But mine are level with the main frame with hardly any flex.
The amount of times I've cut up my fingers building this thing. Be warned, wear gloves using these leaf spring T nuts. Or be careful. The fanatec wheel mount has a bit too much flex. But for me the pedal mount I got was good, rock solid. All in all pretty good rig.
i got the src pro v2 its an amazing chassis and the dd1 mount for it is so good nobody in english has ever done a review on it its an italian company really high end stuff at a decent price
I literally ordered my TR160 in June.. it still hasn't been fully delivered. I've had to have multiple resends of my goods. Working with Matt is great, but he is so helpless within his own company when things go wrong, and then makes it seem like you are nagging him when he takes your money and leaves you without the product, or any sort of reimbursement. I have had an awful experience with Trak Racer so far, I just hope when it finally does come in that I'm not missing any parts after waiting so long.
Fantastic review (as always). I just received my TR160 this morning (I live in California) after placing the order on October 29th. Disappointingly, the seat did not arrive with the other 6 boxes. Clearly they still have delivery and logistic issues and I have contacted support & left a v/m on their US contact #. I will update this group with an outcome but am currently extremely disappointed with the experience so far. Hopefully TR will be reading and engaging on this site so we will see. Once again, thank you for your great content
It's matt Sten from trak racer here. Feel free to discuss this as we already have in private by email. We have explained all the challenges we have had with our third party fulfilment centres who have let us and our customers down but the new warehouse is a lot more advanced which is where your seat will ship from.
@@mattsten2751 Thanks for the reply and I'm still waiting for confirmation on the seat shipping. I will let this group know when I receive it. Matt has also contacted me to send some missing components to enable me to complete my build.
I've had mine since June this year and it's been pretty flawless. I got extras of everything and still have enough to bolt on extra parts once I get them. I didn't order a seat and still got the seat bracket too which was nice. I'm in California, not sure if it's a different experience per region. The discount code paid for shipping which was nice. I'm using V3 pedals and an accuforce v2.
@@TrakracerAu My channel is small but when I receive the TR160 I ordered I will do a review of it. Not everyone's experience is the same and I hope mine is awesome!
@@TrakracerAu I don’t see this as any type of negative review. personally. I watch these reviews (as I think all people should) with the understanding that they will point out any flaw they can just to be as thorough as possible. I think we could all find flaws in any product we come across. Just my 2cents.
@@Zee20Ate i agree with you. In any case, this review helped us to improve the product further. we have just released a new line of more impressive pedal and wheel mounts.
Hope you had better luck with their support. I received one of their products on 11/23, sent an email requesting a return authorization form as it states on their website for when a return is requested, followed up on 11/25 and again today and sent them multiple messages on Facebook but have received nothing but radio silence. I’m just glad I ordered my triple monitor stand from SimLabs. Showed up in less than a week, didn’t have metal shavings all over the aluminum profile, all of the parts were there, and communication was prompt. Night and day difference compared to my experience with Trakracer. I’m just disappointed the P1X wasn’t in stock when I ordered the track racer copy cat. Now I know better.
I also own the TR 160. And alot of the items that will has stated about item missing is a common trend. I ordered my rig and it came missing the wheel plate. Ordered a monitor mount it came missing fasteners, ordered the Hotas mount and they only shipped 1 not the pair. As a rig this is very much like the P1X, however their customer service was beyond sub par and I had to resort to Facebook to get anything done. There manufacturing source needs to be questioned with the amount of missing parts that people are seeing. Though I love my rig, I do feel like a second rate customer, due to the poor customer service.
Please don't be scared off by this video. If you have any problems we can resolve over the phone or email. but we dont expect you to have any problems.
Matt has been very responsive when we’ve contacted him for assistance or to clarify things. I’m confident you should be ok if you do come across any problems. But as we said in part 1, we had no issues with missing or damaged parts with the Tr160.
@@MiserableRacer Quite a few also have complained about sim lab. We are responsive to any issues and we are on top of all these suggestions from Will as we speak.
one of the things i've noticed in my recent rig purchase and I'm not sure why places aren't following simple things like packing lists for each specific order - My rig now been waiting 3 weeks and now be another week because of missing wheel deck and pedal plate brackets didn't even come with instructions and there should be a whats in the box as well. At the $1000+ we pay for these things it should be just standard process.
Great video. BTW, mine came with the spring ball T-nuts. I am guessing maybe they made a change. No missing parts (actually a lot of extras), and everything fit up perfectly. Also fantastic instructions that look to be recently updated. Wanted the P1X, but too expensive where I live, however, I am now glad it was as I am loving the TR160. Edit: I have the standard flat wheelbase and no notable flex with my DD wheel.
@@grant666uk I think it was 2-3 days, but I am not far from the warehouse. I have since bought a monitor stand and button box add on. I did have a wrong part with the monitor stand, but I emailed them and they sent out the correct part right away. Great service. I think you will enjoy it. No regrets on my end.
Almost finished mounting mine TR160. I'm from Italy. All went well, only complain about some missing bolts and T nuts that don't permitted me to completely mount shifer and handbrake support. And many washers missing too (don't know if they are really necessary, as per instructions). Now I'm in contact with my local dealer's in Italy, and they assured me that will ship missing parts as soon as possible.
That pedal plate flex would drive me insane once you have a rig without any flex you just can't go back in fact I'd say it's more important to get rid of all the frames flex than to buy a better pedal set or a better wheel.
@@legendarymark112 Personally I found using square sections of metal tubing to reinforce a flat steel pedal plate works for me with a set of V3 pedals. I run 3 metal tubes bolted underneath my pedal plate and it's strong enough without been too heavy or too hard to drill through. I did a similar thing for the wheel mounting plate although it is tricky to find places to put the tubes depending on what rig you have.
Why don't the t nuts from the Sim lab fit into the track racer? Is there a difference in the extrusion type and if so could you tell me what the difference is? I am tying to determine which rig is best for me and I would like to know what the difference is between the actual material used. I assumed they were both 40mm sections of extruded aluminum and I assumed all 40x80, 40x120 etc were the same. Would love to get some detail on this.
@@jonathanparle8429 i am surprised @BoostedMedia didnt talk about the other wheel deck options. I am certain that the wheeldeck for front mount are a lot sturdier.
Is the P1 motion plate compatible with the Track Racer TR 160 cockpit? Are the internal dimensions the same between the TR 160 and the P1? I can't find that information. Thx a lot
Probably one of the most random questions... How wobbly is the keyboard tray? I don't have the room for _and_ a simrig _and_ a dedicated desk so might use the simrig as my "regular chair" if the keyboard tray isn't wobbly (otherwise, I'll have to tinker something myself for the keyboard).
Hey mate, loving your videos so informative. I'm going to buy a cockpit, what should I go for Next Level GT Elite or Track Racer TR160 MK4? In a while I am looking to add D-Box or Sigma DK2+. Cheers
Great review, as always. Did you have any issues with shipping delays? I ordered this cockpit over 5 weeks ago, each week being told it would be delivered by the weekend. Still hasnt shipped, 3 weeks in a row now. Matt has assured me he's on top of the warehouse to get it shipped out but no signs of that being the case. Hopefully its not rushed so much it comes with missing parts and bolts as a result like yours. I'll be extremely displeased to spend that much money and wait this much time to have a bad experience 😕
No issues with shipping delays for me, but I wouldn't consider my experience as a professional reviewer with shipping to be typical or indicative of what a customer should expect.
I ordered mine in the first week of August. I only just got the last of the parts last week. Well over 3 month wait for me. Like others commented, I had a couple missing items. Packaging could still use some work. Almost all the extruded aluminum had some sort of scratch. Lots of the hardware also came out of their bags and were scattered all over the box. Other than that, it's a pretty good rig. Very solid.
As an ordinary punter, my experience with shipping and communications with TrakRacer was a nightmare. Things were slow and then late (not their fault) but after a seven week wait with no communication as to what was going on, part of my order was simply not supplied at delivery with no explanation. It took two weeks of chasing for me to be told it was in the next shipment (another six weeks wait) - no reason was given. I suspect it was given to somebody else who complained louder, but have no evidence. Then a part was missing from a box so I emailed them. After a week without a response I called them. It turns out they were actually sourcing a replacement by courier from China (which was great) but had not bothered to acknowledge my email. I then waited another three weeks for the part so I could continue the build. I ordered in June, the rig build was completed in October.
Mixed stories TBH. I’ve seen evidence of improvement, but we recently ordered some parts for a monitor stand and had a similar experience. My conclusion is it’s hit and miss.
Will, what I really like about trak racer is they have that super cool GT style seat or the rally seat included. Is that sort of thing included with the Simlabs cockpit?
Thank you for the video. I got a question about the profile itself. You mention the Sim Lab connector doesn't work with the Trak Racer setup and that got me wondering about "universal upgradability" with this rig. Can you share if the spacing/depth in the profile is the same as in the P1-X? This can be a deal breaker. Cheers.
Spacing is the same but depth is slightly different. You can mount Simlab accessories on Trak racer if you use simlabs t-nuts to mount it and vice versa
I'm going to buy a Trak Racer TR8, do you think it is sturdy and solid enough to hold a Clubsport v2.5 and v3 pedals ? I'm even considering an RS6, but I think it'll have some flex.
Another great video. 👍 Would love to see you review the Trak Racer TR8 as well. I've had my eye on it for quite a while but there's not a lot of reviews on its latest iteration.
And Dee we have stock and we are only delayed by handling time caused by our third party warehouse due to reductions in staff. If you email we can find out where your order is at
Brummie Deano thanks for your assistance here. it's a weekend where I am and I'll be back at work Monday and can chase it up for Dee. But thanks for your input.
I’ve been thinking of purchasing this rig for awhile now, I live in the U.S and it seems the p1-x is difficult to obtain here. I was wondering overall do you recommend this rig, I just purchased a fanatech DD1 wheel with V3 inverted pedals and I want the best cockpit possible not only to handle my current gear but maybe future upgrades, I was wondering if maybe you could please give me some personal feedback. Thank you, I hope to hear from you and any others in the comment section, keep up the great work and carrying the sim racing community through 2020!
love your videos great content. I'm new to sim racing just wanted to know is it possible to attach a wheel (just a wheel from a car no button box) to the simicube 2? sorry to go off topic
I was going for the p1x and triple monitor stand from simlabs then I seen the postage cost $600 Aud shipped to qld ......that's crazy so I purchased my gear with track racer basically the same thing.
Awesome videos mate, answers a lot of the questions I have. I'm really torn right now between the P1X and the TR160. The P1X with the accessories I am looking at will end up costing about $3000 delivered, with no seat, while the TR160 with similar accessories will be closer to $2400. Do you think the P1X is worth the extra $600 plus seat, plus import tax? Which would you buy, having used both? Thanks again for the videos!
It's a tough call with the price difference. I'd need more seat time in the TR160 before making a final call on which one I would buy, but considering the price difference and import duties in your case, it would be hard to go past the TR160 and then use the saved money to buy a Simcore UM1 Mount for your wheelbase. Wheel deck and pedal plate aside they're essentially the same with only subtle differences. The Profile with the P1X is slightly thicker, but there's no discernible flex in the cockpit itself with either one.
I've already started working on updates to eliminate the "flex" mentioned. We will have these included in two months for existing and new customers. Thanks for the feedback Will. We were unaware of any flex issue before seeing this video. Matt froM TR
So some good points but other areas that need further work on, which sounds like what I’d expect from what I’ve seen elsewhere too (am lacking any personal experience though)
Yep. There's certainly a tonne of potential there, and there does seem to be significant improvement over the experiences I was seeing a few months ago, but still a way to go.
@@boostedmedia oddly enough i have no flex in my dd2 wheel mount with my tr 160. i wonder if theres some defect in the one you got? I can send you a video of my cranking on it. the pedal plate definitely needs addressing.
Hey Will! Great review! Just one question about the seat. Is the seat comfortable and not too upright? I'm in the market for this same rally style seat for GT and Prototype racing, and loved the feel of the RSeat seats. Does this TrakRacer seat match up? Thanks!
Hey! I don’t have any experience with RSeat, but yeah I did find this rally seat too upright. I ended up figuring out a little hack to get it reclined further with some spare parts. It’s a nice feeling seat though! Very comfortable!
@@tomboostedmedia9858 Ah okay no worries! With the Hack you said, would that be a basic drilling of the back bolts to have a lower and more tilted angle? Thank you for replying so early!
@@owencaryl I had to use a bracket to get the seat mounted higher at the front. You can’t get the seat lower enough at the back before it bottoms out on the rails. Can’t even get it mounted to the lowest hole on the back
Great review! Exactly what I was after. I have heard over and over that aluminum profile rigs were pretty much universal--so I was surprised to see you mention that the SimLab T nut wouldn't fit the TrakRacer profile...are accessories/additional profiles universal as long as you use the correct T nut for the slot? Or there are other hardware incompatibilities as well (bolt threading, etc.)?
Im looking to buy a P1x and possibly upgrade to a DD1 later on, right now i have the fanatic CSL elite wheel base, my question is. Does simlab sell their DD mounting bracket separately? or should I hold off on upgrading my rig until I go direct drive.
Awesome review. I got mine in August and the key board tray 1 month ago. My key board tray keeps getting loose and drops my key board on the ground. Also I feel that I can't get the wheel its self high enough or the seat low enough and I am only 6ft tall.
Hi will great video, I was torn between this unit and the p1, I ended up with the p1 after some research and thinking. Other than the t nuts would the flight sim addition fit onto a p1?
Do you know if trak racer has made these changes you commented on? I was personally thinking about going with them but I’m not sure with what you found.
The product could handle the impact of a truck, it’s solid. The shipping though, I guess it’s hit or miss. I’m guessing this is a smaller company and if so most smaller businesses were hit hard in different ways during and even after covid. I’ll repeat that it’s solid and I’d be surprised if the pedal plate wouldn’t stop a bullet.

Love my tr160 but building was harder than it should of been,I had to separate and re bag nuts and bolts and every other little thing just to make sense of it,But once I had done that it was a lot easier
I pulled the trigger on a TR160 this morning, and I received tracking numbers the same day. ETA is early next week. Destination is east coast US, shipping from TX. I did not buy a seat from TrakRacer, but seems like they currently have stock on other items. Most importantly, it seems like they recently moved to a "flat shipping" model--i was not charged for shipping, their website is also still not adding a cost for shipping. I have not yet seen anyone else talking about that, but it looks like my order is going through just fine. Free shipping in the US is a significant cost savings!
I’m a bit surprised you think that they are the main competition for your P1. It certainly looked to me that the base model Racekraft rig that you reviewed a little while ago was better in every aspect? Even the slight flex you showed in the wheel base mount was due to having the alloy one and not the carbon steel one? Great thorough review though as always.
The support is bad and you wont get your product in time or at all. i dont advice to purchase from TR. and kindly if you do some reviews on any product also include the after sale support. so we can trust what you review. by the way i like your rig setup and reviews over all. cheers.
Until this review we had no complaints about flex with the fanatec mount. we have already made an update for all stock with the help of Will's feedback though.
our QA and invenotry is on point and our products have more features and better value than anything on the market currently. Please reach out if you need assistance with anything.
Steve Day Have you experienced any problem as I can't find any email from you about any issues you're experiencing. Is your brake pedal heavier than 95kg? If not then you wouldn't have any minimal flex as mentioned in this video.
@@mattsten2751 myself and lots of others have the flex in the Fanatec mount, that is not acceptable and is defective, you have known about it a long time before Will put it in a video that has been seen by more people than the Facebook group. Just more lies and deceit from Track Racer !

Alright Mate. Just ordered a Tr160 today. How long did yours take to arrive ?
Oh yes I forgot to add your #4. I had the same issue and simply removed it as I am the only one driving.
Respect to Trak Racer for following up through UA-cam comments on their products.
@@noblebatson8621 yes, me too. But not what I paid for.
Great review, as usual your attention to detail is 2nd to none. This rig looks good and the additional adjustability has been well thought out which makes it attractive to people. The great thing about profile is that it allows you to adjust everything to suit your personal preference instead of you having to adjust to the limitations of the rig.
Thanks for this video and your honesty. You're a gem in this community!
I agree - from personal experience, the engineering on the triple monitor mount cannot manage the loads. Mine sags so much I am going to replace it.
I should have ordered the keyboard tray too
I had one minor issue with a bent piece of steel. Matt and Johan were fast to respond to email and shipped the parts in less than a week.
Overall great experience from when I placed the order till my first drive.
Thank you for your support Chris
Thank you for what I'm sure is an honest review--not all rainbows and unicorns, there are bound to be some minor blemishes here and there. This review really helped me with my decision, I pulled the trigger on a TR160 and a bunch of other goodies earlier today. Received tracking numbers the same day. Sounds like the team at TrakRacer is out there to stand by their product.
how do u like it 1 year later?
@@nextrider123 Love it, no regrets. New "Mk4" pedal deck revision looks even better than what I have, but I've been using simtrecs pedals for the past 9 months and even the pedal deck I have has been great. Have seat and pedal sliders as well so my 7yo son can get his seat time. Probably ~8hrs of use a week for a year now. Had held up great, no major issues. Highly recommend. Trakracer support was great in my experience--happily resolved any minor issues I had with haste. 👍👍
A super, independent, nonjudgmental review. Very helpful. Thanks mate.
Looks like a great chassis with back to earth pricing. Any negative feedback to Trak Racer is only going to help further improve. Very healthy circle of info. Appreciate the transparent review.
it was very helpful and improvements already applied.
Positive outcome!
Together we make this community & simracing experience better!! 🤜🤛
Thank you for your support James. Matt here from TR

I have had an awful experience with Trak Racer so far, I just hope when it finally does come in that I'm not missing any parts after waiting so long.
any update on the cockpit?
ya any updates with your tr160? I'm about to pull the trigger on $1500 with of tr160. you happy with yours?
Fantastic review (as always). I just received my TR160 this morning (I live in California) after placing the order on October 29th. Disappointingly, the seat did not arrive with the other 6 boxes. Clearly they still have delivery and logistic issues and I have contacted support & left a v/m on their US contact #. I will update this group with an outcome but am currently extremely disappointed with the experience so far. Hopefully TR will be reading and engaging on this site so we will see. Once again, thank you for your great content
It's matt Sten from trak racer here. Feel free to discuss this as we already have in private by email.
Most people have the same experience as you. I'm also surprised by this review.

@@Zee20Ate i agree with you. In any case, this review helped us to improve the product further. we have just released a new line of more impressive pedal and wheel mounts.
Did u had any problem with the stability of the mount for the steeringwheel base?
Thank you for your feedback. We have resolved most of these issues. From our point of view we had 400% increase in demand that we were not ready for.
My TR160 is in transit this very second... great review Will and Tom!

one of the things i've noticed in my recent rig purchase and I'm not sure why places aren't following simple things like packing lists for each specific order - My rig now been waiting 3 weeks and now be another week because of missing wheel deck and pedal plate brackets didn't even come with instructions and there should be a whats in the box as well.
Thanks for your feedback. ARC will resolve anything issues you have.
That pedal plate flex would drive me insane once you have a rig without any flex you just can't go back in fact I'd say it's more important to get rid of all the frames flex than to buy a better pedal set or a better wheel.
Do you have a recommendation for something to use for pedal and wheel mounts for zero flex?
@@legendarymark112 Personally I found using square sections of metal tubing to reinforce a flat steel pedal plate works for me with a set of V3 pedals. I run 3 metal tubes bolted underneath my pedal plate and it's strong enough without been too heavy or too hard to drill through. I did a similar thing for the wheel mounting plate although it is tricky to find places to put the tubes depending on what rig you have.
Racewerk pedals in the background Will?

Why don't the t nuts from the Sim lab fit into the track racer? Is there a difference in the extrusion type and if so could you tell me what the difference is? I am tying to determine which rig is best for me and I would like to know what the difference is between the actual material used. I assumed they were both 40mm sections of extruded aluminum and I assumed all 40x80, 40x120 etc were the same. Would love to get some detail on this.

Is the P1 motion plate compatible with the Track Racer TR 160 cockpit? Are the internal dimensions the same between the TR 160 and the P1? I can't find that information.
Thx a lot
which is better simlab or trak racer?
Very solid.
@@boostedmedia Will, your experience was indicative of what a customer would expect. it went out with all the other orders, when stock arrived.
That’s good to hear.
What's the main difference between the 120 and the 160? Is it worth the difference?
Curious, since this video, did Trak racer address the issues? Ordering one of these rigs soon :) Thanks!
Mixed stories TBH. I’ve seen evidence of improvement, but we recently ordered some parts for a monitor stand and had a similar experience. My conclusion is it’s hit and miss.
What is you thoughts after owning for a while? I’m looking to buy my first and only rig, 1-2k usd range, got this in mind and also there new TRX?
Will, what I really like about trak racer is they have that super cool GT style seat or the rally seat included. Is that sort of thing included with the Simlabs cockpit?
Yep they do have both style seats too although I haven't had hands on time with them.

I’m looking at one of these or a F-GT elite. Which one would you recommend?
I'm going to buy a Trak Racer TR8, do you think it is sturdy and solid enough to hold a Clubsport v2.5 and v3 pedals ? I'm even considering an RS6, but I think it'll have some flex.

I've just bought a P1-X, did I make the right choice?

Until this review we had no complaints about flex with the fanatec mount. we have already made an update for all stock with the help of Will's feedback though.
Awsome rig, but the dashboard looks ridiculously huge. 😛
you should link the first vid. youtube suggested part 2 and not 1
Thanks for the review. Been looking at the tr160 all morning, definitely not buying it now!
our QA and invenotry is on point and our products have more features and better value than anything on the market currently. Please reach out if you need assistance with anything.
@@TrakracerAu I thought I made it clear I wouldn't be needing any assistance, lol.
@@youtubehandol all the best
@@TrakracerAu you too mate. Might check back in after this covid nonsense ends.
@@youtubehandol we tweak every production with feedback from customers so reviews become redundant. if you're local, come to our showroom to inspect.
Are those hydraulic pedals I spy on the shelf?! 👀
Indeed
@@boostedmedia sooooooo when's the video coming out?! 😀
When it’s ready ;)
@@boostedmedia but we want it nooooow. 🤣
Nice review, but for the price Flex is not acceptable
@@mattsten2751 that's great to hear as your rig look really good, please make some update when you got this flex issue solve
Hopefully the great man Will is interested to review as it's his comments that have pushed an update to come from us.
@@mattsten2751 Are the retrofit parts free for us customers that have these defective units?
Steve Day Have you experienced any problem as I can't find any email from you about any issues you're experiencing. Is your brake pedal heavier than 95kg? If not then you wouldn't have any minimal flex as mentioned in this video.
@@mattsten2751 myself and lots of others have the flex in the Fanatec mount, that is not acceptable and is defective, you have known about it a long time before Will put it in a video that has been seen by more people than the Facebook group.
Just more lies and deceit from Track Racer !
Ay first comment! Any tips on how to get a fanatec sponsorship?
I'm not sponsored by Fanatec, but my suggestions would be contact them with a professional proposal including what value you bring to the picture.
@@Simlife101 I know lol i just wanted to see
Me, two seconds into the video. "Who has a DD wheel and puts their screen there!?!"
15 seconds into the video - “oh makes sense now”. Temporary while we work on the bigger project.
Supersport racer turned sim racer haha nice Aiden, just subbed to your channel
What do you think of the seat will?
I like it but it’s not suitable for everyone. My elbows smack into the sides unless it’s adjusted perfectly.
@@boostedmedia think I might go for the racekraft seat from Jon instead then
thanks for the prompt response mate!
