And Pouf is far more "evil" and "Insane" then Pitou so yeah.. while Pitous En is stronger i guess just feeling Poufs Aura can mess you up alot :P Even Morel was shaken when he felt Pouf the first time but his will was just stronger then Knovs and didnt break. But Knovs scenes are just masterpieces of Voice Acting. Both this and the one where he was inside the Palace.

Best performance in HxH 2011 yet. As a fan of the manga, I expected the story to outdo itself, but for Knov's actor to do this well. I am simply blown away. If I could give him a live applause, I would. The man was bloody brilliant.
Gon's confrontation with Pitou was very moving, but I think Knov's was much more emotional. To be fair, Knov's actor had a tearful breakdown to work with.
I just now thought about a difference of context that maybe influenced the difference of reaction, between Knov and the others, towards this aura : *Knov was alone.* On a solitary mission, knowing that if he got caught he wouldn't be able to defend himself alone, and that the rest of the mission depended on him not failing. But he had to go as close to danger as possible. Lonely, in the dark and rain, he had time to mature his fear and anguish...
Great thinking also gon and killua had their Ren active protecting them from Pitou's En while Knov was in zetsu being completely exposed. Even if the aura did not touch him, being in zetsu adds to the vulnerable state of mind as opposed to the combative state of mind of someone in Ren.

One of the most underrated scenes in the anime. I had chills, it showed that even Nov, a pro-hunter, presented as one of the president's best fighter, is completely powerless against the royal guards. This creates a very specific terrific impression when we see the royal guards for the next episodes.

I've read in forums and comments that it doesn't make sense for Knov to cower in the face of a royal guard's aura and that Gon and Killua don't suffer at all from Pitou's aura. For me this is an absolute genius of Togashi because almost everyone forgot that in the saga of the tournament of heaven we were told that if you extend your aura with bad intentions towards a person who is not using his aura or cannot use it then this person will be damaged and you could even kill it. Hisoka did this so that Gon and Killua wouldn't enter the 200th floor without having learned how to use Nen. Knov was infiltrating the royal palace so he was using Zetsu at all times and to his bad luck Shaiapouf extended his aura when he was full of anger. Knov received Shaiapouf's evil aura without any protection and it affected him greatly.
I mean... Hunter x Hunter is just perfect. The build up for this scene happened many episodes ago, and it delivers with such force. These scenes in Hunter are so well crafted, and even tho this is a masterpiece it is not even close to being the best hunter scene. I sincerely do no think there is a better work of fiction, in manga or jn any novel, that stands up to this amazing story. It´s just sublime.
Chimera ant arc became traumatic to me when the 3 royal guards showed up. But this scene is one of the most traumatic one. How Knov described the maliciousness of the aura of Nepferpitou was off charts and very terrifying. I also thought he would be caught and die but luckily he got out.
God this is always so heartbreaking to watch. Hats off to Shinichiro Miki - this an example of phenomenal voice acting further elevating an already brilliant scene.
Knov did not have a mental breakdown because he was a coward. He was the most intelligent in the bunch so he knew exactly what the odds & risks are. He understood it completely, not just the death but the torture & disfiguration that lie ahead. He knew it so well he lost all his hair because of that fear. The rest of the bunch were 'baka' types that would do anything to protect others even though they will lose. The scene when knov infiltrated the palace was one of the few scenes in anime where my heart was beating so anxiously. I was like knov dont get too close, just get out of there!! It was insane how well it was animated. That feat alone was so brave and he only realized it after he left. To go back was unthinkable. In fact, the way they build up the king & royal guards to be too strong, I was like if I'm there I would have NOT have the guts to go on that mission. It'd be an immediate bye, exactly like knov did. That scene when the mission started and they all appeared next to the staircase running & meeting youpi was the second time I felt so anxious after knov. Crazy anime.

Phenomenal voice acting! He started out as cocky when he first met Killua only to now realize what those kids were up against. You can feel the despair in the soundtrack and his voice. I vividly remember every moment of this arc. Goated series.

This makes Morel much cooler character. He was calm and using his tactical to overcome the difference in strength. No body fit a Hunter better than him.
Morel literally stuck to his words. He came off as an a$$h0le when he mocked Killua. You would expect such a character to get his ass kicked but rather we see he meant exactly what he said. Truly a great character.
This scene perfectly depicts a differences in people when confronted by Malice, some tremble before it and others face it. The goal for everyone whom confronts evil is to not be defeated by it but to adapt and gain the courage to face it.
What makes this hit different is that Knov is the most stoic well put together person in the entire anime. Though I'd bet Togashi gave him the nen ability "Hide and Seek" to reflect his calculated and cautious nature.
Knov had such a cool ability too. Like the fact that he opened a small portal and teleported just a head for a silent kill while being in Zetsu is brilliant. Too bad, Pouf put the fear of god in him. Can't blame him. I would shit my pants, too
If he join the battle, he would make more perfect combo with moloreon, knuckle and morel. This makes me beileve that his breakdown plot for that reason.

Morel literally stuck to his words. He came off as an a$$h0le when he mocked Killua. You would expect such a character to get his ass kicked but rather we see he meant exactly what he said. Truly a great character.
the voice acting in this scene is so masterful
It was a godlike acting from the seiyuu, I have never felt that fucking tension watching an anime.
This scene perfectly depicts a differences in people when confronted by Malice, some tremble before it and others face it.
The goal for everyone whom confronts evil is to not be defeated by it but to adapt and gain the courage to face it.
this is very attached to reality, for those who know
What makes this hit different is that Knov is the most stoic well put together person in the entire anime. Though I'd bet Togashi gave him the nen ability "Hide and Seek" to reflect his calculated and cautious nature.
Knov had such a cool ability too. Like the fact that he opened a small portal and teleported just a head for a silent kill while being in Zetsu is brilliant. Too bad, Pouf put the fear of god in him. Can't blame him. I would shit my pants, too

Given how it's not confirmed. Knov might have had the worst luck of them all.. I believe Pouf's aura is the most malicious of them given his twisted nature that Pitou's sinister aura might seem like a kitty next to his ( pun intended )
Add to that, his stress and mental exhaustion. God, that poor man.
