Fantastic waypoint and Litchi review. I am definitely going to get Litchi for my Air 2S after watching your review. Thanks for all your in depth videos.
Great explanation of the Litchi program, waypoint speeds for smoother flight transitions from one waypoint to the next and smooth turns on curves with POI established. This was excellent information, thank you!
Great tip on slowing down the speed. Many of us have complained since the release of the SDK and the Litchi implementation that waypoints work horribly on the Air 2S. Can't wait to try it. Thanks!
I am a total new user, just used it for the first time tonight. I studied Follow Me thanks to you, and I am looking forward to going out and finally getting my Air 2 S to follow me. I ride a Can Am Spyder Trike, so Active Track does not recognize it as a car, or me as a person, so after 10 seconds, it quits. Looks like Litchi will fix that too. Best 25 dollars spent on a drone ever,
Great job explaining the program. I am brand new to drones and have an Air 2s. I subscribed and look forward to more content. Keep up the good work! I fly out of Florida and want to try using litchie
As I understand one cannot manually control/change the camera’s direction in a WP mission if you’ve set the the camera to look at a POI. You have to specify in a pull-down dialog box at which WP does the camera not do anything - relinquishing control back to the operator… then it is possible to control the cameras tilt whilst executing the flight plan.
Good job buddy. Hope you didn’t mind me sticking up for you And asking DJI why you weren’t part of their “secret reveal” and have a mini three early to let us know all about it and make some videos ready for launch date.
Just a couple of quick questions: can you take control of the drone with the joysticks if anything goes wrong during a mission? Also, does the drone RTH in the usual manner if the RC signal is lost during a mission?
great video, thank you for your work. As the new DJI drones don't have waypoints (only in hyperlapse mode) and the Skydio is not available inEurope, I might have to go with the R2S. One question please: what is the min. height to fly waypoints?
Excellent video. I have the Air 2 S and would love to use it with waypoints. Too bad the DJI Fly app doesn't offer it. Wondering what the reason for that is, other than to force people into buying the Magic 3. Are there any potential risks?
The Mavic 3 has more advanced obstacle sensors so I believe that it might be a decision from DJI to be risk adverse. I also believe that offering a feature uniquely to a drone makes it a more appealing drone for marketing purposes.
Good video.Question for you .Do you think the quality of the videos or photos with the Mini 3 are not as good as the Air 2 S ? Or you cannot tell the difference ?
Thanks Dan. Liked and Subscribed. Just for clarity. Did the Litchi app. when used with Apple and the earlier SDK from DJI have issues? Whereas the Android did not? I am referring to some UA-cam vids out of Europe some 5-6 months ago. I just bought my first drone, an Air 2s, so am particularly interested in any APK/App conflict. Great job in showcasing Cleveland point. I worked up that way for a time. Great location. Bought back fond memories.
That’s awesome, I’m glad that my content could bring back some fond memories. I did hear that early versions were having issues with the Air 2S SDK but I believe that it has been fixed now.
Sorry if you answered this already. Maybe I missed it, but can the waypoints be created beforehand, without the drone being turned on? Just thinking about conserving battery while creating a flight plan. Thanks.
Thank you for the very informative, video about Litchi. Would you happen to know how come mine doesn’t preview (in blue) the curve path between waypoints? I tried finding something to activate it in several places and cannot see it like in your video? I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro. I’m sure I’m missing some setting that I’ve gotta toggle on.
@@DansTubeTV I went flying this evening and found the option in the settings. Interesting that mine didn’t come on by default. Thank you for the reply!
Excellent explanation! Do you recommend to also change the pitch gimbal settings in normal mode to much smoother? Does that also influence the waypoint mission result?
Dan, great video, but I am puzzled. How do you get sideways or even backward movement with your drone. I agree that some of your footage looks fantastic and very cinematic due to the movement of your drone. I saw an option for heading on your screen, but I don't see that option on mine. Is that what you used? Is that an IOS vs. Android thing. I'm scratching my head trying to get sideways and backward movement.
Hi Dan, do you know how I can put my Air2S into DLog mode using Litchi (android version)? I’ve gone through all the menus and I can’t see if it’s even available. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks
That means the Air 2S mission is not loaded into the drone itself? different than M2P? So once the controller disconnected, the mission cannot continue by itself? Thanks
Hey bro just want to ask if you have a recomended app betwen litchi and dronelink for saved hyperlapse missions, I´d like to choose an app to do the same flight along several months
Hi Dan. I’m a 13 year old boy and looking for a drone. My friend and I are splitting for our first drone. Would you recommend the dji mini se with litchi. Thanks
Dan, this sounds fantastic! I am a recent Air 2s owner - I am hoping to be able to film a smooth building inspection , much like how I understand Skydio keyframe would work. Is this somewhat possible with Litchi on Air 2s? If so, what controller and iphone etc. setup do i need? I currently have a Smart controller and RC Pro but was thinking about std controller and Tripltek. Thx!
Thanks for watching Steve 😁 you could use waypoints to inspect a building. You might want to look into the pro version of Dronelink. They have some awesome mapping options. The RC Pro doesn’t support Litchi or other third-party flight controllers at the moment, you might need to look into the standard controller. I hope this helps 🤞
Hido Dan...I want to use my A2s and Litchi Waypoints for regular videos of new housing as its being built. Problem is that the houses are not obviously on Google Maps yet. Have you looked at setting the waypoints by way of a preset function button via "keys" (WP at aircraft and POI at aircraft) in the Litchi App? Can you do a presentation on that please?
@@DansTubeTV ok. In another matter you cant use an adverb (very) with a superlative (unique) ie "very unique". Its bad English and you say that quite a lot. Only trying to give positive criticism not negative.
Thanks for another great video Dan. I can now see that waypoints is something I will use for my Air2S. But just as a technical question: is the waypoint journey loaded into the Air2S as a mission, or is the drone receiving instructions from the RC controller in real time?
Hi Dan. If this has been answered before, my apologies. Please link . I am a new pilot and air2s owner. Looking to use litchi in the future. I just subscribed to DJI care insurance. Are these logs created by LITCHIi as they are by DJIFLY?? thanks in advance. BTW I lived in Manly/Wynnum for a short time.
Great question and thanks for the support. I don’t know 100% and I don’t want to comment on this as I might be completely wrong. I would suggest reaching out to Litchi and DJI.
@@DansTubeTV Thanks Dan. I looked in "other" places. Regarding DJI, including our state distributor. I don't think they even know. They quote and refer to DJI terms which are full of legal speak. That means the Air 2S mission is not loaded into the drone itself? different than M2P? So once the controller disconnected, the mission cannot continue by itself? Thanks
That is correct, I believe that has something to do with the limitations of the SDK.
How do I make the drone rise when it is at a point to the required level without advancing to the next point?
Hmmm, good question, you could put multiple waypoints on top of each other and then increase the height?
