Finally someone who talks about the manga without going crazy about the arbok being sliced in half for half the video
It wasn’t even that violent. Arbok’s alright anyway.
Personally, I use it as a litmus test for people. You can handle that? You can handle everything else. You (or your kids) can’t handle that? Well you might wanna skip it until you’re ready.
The people who constantly bring up the Arbok scene are a bunch of weenies

Tbh thats a good mark to tell if someones actually read the whole manga, Zinnia being impaled by Rayquaza and still begging him to accept her (not to mention the attempted drowning and the implied paralysis) is so much more dark than a nameless pokemon "dying", but all those people act like the latter is peak edginess or something.
Underrated video, the Gold/Silver/Crystal arc is really good! Even the Villain is totally a new and fresh bad guy with a great and good developed plan, more of the basic game villains.
The only problem I have is that they stopped having past trainers meeting each other, back around when Black & White were coming out is when they stopped.
At lest that I know cause I only have up to the B&W story and haven’t found the other Adventure titles
I haven't read the newer arcs but I know Green shows up in the XY arc.
Plus there's the ORAS arc that like FrLg focuses on older characters (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Red and Blue) having a new adventure unrelated to the newbies in other regions.
Y and X meet Green in Kalos. Blake meet Blue due to both of them work for International Police, and Moon possibly Platinum sister
This is very accurate… when a story this good is made, it should always be covered and cherished.
Yellow is the best and most powerful character in the Manga and nothing can change my mind.
Just thought I'd mention Chris (Crystal) is not a manga original character, she was the first female protagonist introduced in the Pokemon Crystal game for Gameboy color. If I'm not mistaken the only two Manga Original protagonists are Emerald and Yellow. (Yellow being the coolest character to ever exist in Pokemon)
Thank you for this retrospective. Seriously, thank you! There are a few videos that have briefly covered the Adventures manga, but none that have taken the time to look at each arc the way you have, to my knowledge. You took a very respectable approach by covering the key points of the overall plot, but still leaving enough unspoken that those who want to read it for themselves can still have an enjoyable experience without being spoiled. Overall, wonderfully done on covering what remains one of the parts of the Pokemon franchise in dire need of more spotlighting.

Pokemon is really good but it never holds my attention, I always put it down half way through, so a good story would help
Ye that's it, just ordered the first box set.
Been sticking to 'official' pokemon stuff for too long, will try different things now since I played pokemmo last month.
This pokemon company is not making much great stuff now.

@@RadKatz it got a bit weak with the emerald arc and then picks up again and got weak with sm but picks up again with swsh.
I have to warn you though that some character portrayal might be very different with fan interpretation of them or their game or anime counterpart (many villain is much more vile and villanous, Lusamine physically and emotionally abuse Lilie causing her to have inferiority complex, Lysandrea and Team Flare in general also much more competent and dangerous villain being able to control and manipulate people perception and fear and have almost complete control of media, N is also a bit of psycho and Hilda expression is less romantic and more creepy than in the game, Faba is the reason Mohn disappeared and the one who cause Lusamine to lost control of herself).

I gotta say, Gold really annoyed me for the longest time, always in Silver and Crystal's shadow. But he's grown on me. I don't know how, but he has lol
