Yk I noticed they both awakened their “power” during similar moments of life or death. When Zelda was in danger the Master Sword recognizes her masters presence and awakens for him to utilize. And when Link is on the brink of death about to be shot by a guardian Zelda’s Powers awaken and take out all the Guardians of Fort Hateno.
They were so close in Skyward Sword😭 You should've seen me & my brothers when one of us started playing Skyward Sword for the first time, the 4 of us were just dying to see Link & Zelda kiss. We were all like "Come on, just kiss already!". Just when they were about to, to our disappointment, they didn't.

Ok so this might get a bit confusing, especially since you are new to the series. Basically, each Link is a different incarnation of the hero in most games but there are some who feature the same hero. Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask each feature the Hero of Time but Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword feature the Hero of Twilight and The Hero of the Sky respectively. There is a whole timeline with the different games and what order they happen chronologically lore-wise. Skyward Sword is the first in the timeline, Ocarina of Time is where the timeline splits. There is the Fallen Hero timeline, the Child timeline and the Adult timeline in which different games fall under and some feature the same hero. As the other person said, this means that some heroes are left-handed while others are right-handed. I recommend watching lore and theory videos and look up the timeline to get a better understanding of the series. A couple theorists I recommend are Zeltik and Hyrule Gamer.

She's the one with god-like powers fighting the ultimate evil on a standstill, who's been saving the kingdom for 100 years and is giving you enough time to find 900 koroks for a fool, who can't even find one. I'd say she's a side character in the game, but the main character of the story. As powerful as she ended up being, she couldn't finish the evil without a little help, and here comes the player character, the errand boy. You do what she tells you to do, she's the stategical mastermind in this battle, not you. When all is said and done, that's what people would remember. The princess who fought evil 100 years before beating it, not the side character who swung a sword around while running her errands, although they were a bit demanding. Thus, The Legend of Zelda is more than justified. You're practically playing a side character in her story.
Those scenes are from Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, it takes place in an alternate universe. Very different gameplay from Botw but a lot of fun. Lots of crossover from Botw.
