Purah: WHY DID YOU DROP A CORPSE ON MY DOORSTEP!? Sheikah Warriors: It's Link, we need to take him to the shrine immediately or he'll be gone forever. Purah: Cool, but why do you need to drop his corpse on my doorstep!?
Zelda finally overcome's her jealousy of Link and once she begins caring for him, her light force awakens... Destiny of love between them? I think YES.
Lalaverp I find it so sad the Gerudo ask if he already cares deeply for someone and he looks embarrased. I mean I think Mipha and Link were canon. If you look at the entirety of the game only the Gerudo and Zora know who Link is. The Rito and Gorons don't know. In the cutscene with Mipha she says, when all this is over, I want to spend time with you like we used to, and also says how they played together as kids. I think he loved her more and I feel even more that way with the tunic that was made for him. I feel after the battle she would have proposed with the tunic. Man just crushes my soul. If you want Zelink, go play skyward sword...This game will always be Lipha to me.
Best memory in my opinion. The music, and the vibe coming from this is cool as heck. The way Link refuses Zelda’s words to retreat to fulfill his duty as the princess’s appointment knight until he collapsed is badass.

@@Bowl427 "a whole child" LOL Must be a modern thing. Consider that Alexander the Great, who by age 32 had conquered much of the known world and fought in many battles, was already a seasoned warrior by the age of 18. That is a person that existed, so it's not too crazy making Link an experienced warrior like that in a fantasy setting.
After playing for the fourth time, this is heartbreaking, Link does more than he can to protect Zelda, even knowing he has no chance of winning, he is so selfless & heroic.
But those machines aren't evil. That's like expecting the Master Sword to be the ultimate weapon against a Toaster Ganon throws at you. Just cause Ganon's evil, don't mean his toaster is.
@Spenser Farman you're kinda missing the point. You mentioned it's theultimate weapon against evil, but in the end, that's against evil. Against non-evil it's just effectively a blessed sword with nigh-unbreakability, but still potentially breakable/destroyable (we've seen it broken in one game haven't we?)
Katoma Mundara no we haven't seen it broken or damaged like this before. But then again we haven't seen the master sword be used against something that isn't evil.
Twocoolman115 yes it was fi, fi talked to zelda and told her how to keep link alive... the sound effect from fi can be heard when the sword is glowing and the background piano music incorporates a bit of fi's theme when this scene happens
I'd like to point out a few things and give some speculation here... It feels like they were trying to show that Zelda's sealing power finally awoke in her after Link gave his life to protect her as his sworn duty and also his acceptance of his fate as Hylia's chosen hero. Following on from this, the scene immediately after she seals Ganon's power and hence deactivates the guardians nearby, she rushes to her dying hero's side. This scene almost completely is reminiscent of Hylia's original chosen hero in his final moments after Demise struck a fatal blow on the already exhausted and tired hero, before she sends Skyloft skyward, a full nod towards the original Legend. The music choice here isn't just meant to bring out emotion but also to be symbolic of the hero's sacrifice, if it wasn't for Zelda's tinkering with Sheikah technology earlier on in her life, Link would have died here, everything happens by threads of fate. Lastly, Fi, however dormant she may be, senses her dying Master's presence, this begs a question... in the decline timeline where Ganon kills the Hero of Time ,did she detect her Master's death and react?
I always like to think Fi/the Master Sword eventually helped in or at least influenced the side of good during the Imprisoning War, whether by aiding the Knights of Hyrule (judging by Link's bloodline and display of courage in aLttP) or somehow aiding the Seven Sages in sealing Ganon.
That moment when you realize Fi did the exact same thing Ghirahim did in Skyward Sword; Trying to ressurect her fallen master after a hard-fought battle and returning to them only after they've recovered. Even more interesting, Zelda was the reason for both ressurections.
It's impossible to don't cry when you realize Fi has been always there, during thousands and thousands of years. Feeling the soul of SS Link inside different bodies and trying her best to help and protect him even if she couldn't come out anymore.
honestly cried so hard when I heard the sword. it's the exact sound from Skyward Sword. I know so many people hated her because of the hand-holding in that game, but honestly... her farewell was heartbreakingly bittersweet. And it was so cool to introduce something that is in every Zelda game the Master Sword is in, because she's part of it. I mean this scene is already sad but when I heard that, I felt so much hope. It was such a nice touch for those of us who actually loved Skyward Sword. cheers, nintendo.
The piano in this scene does so much for the atmosphere, those first few 15 seconds that play I can't get over. And then it plays again as Zelda learns there's hope for Link.
Zelda: "You have recovered all of your memories of us from 100 years ago." Me: "Actually we still need to go get memory #6, that's a Divine Beast memory, specifically the Gerudo. So yeah, just so you know." Zelda: "It is time for you to defeat Ganon!" Me: "In Link's current state we probably could beat Ganon... but gonna get the last Divine Beast anyway. I don't want the Gerudo lady to be sad!" Link: *Flashbacks of visiting Hyrule Castle to finish some quests, only having 5 hearts when doing so, and accidentally walking into the final bosses room*
GTBR well you could see his face before he fainted kinda saying that he wont fall like this and will stay with her, but i only see the first part of my statement clear
The first 45 seconds. That piano. Wow. I feel like I’m there. That feeling where you know you are overwhelmed and outnumbered, there is no way you can win, yet you continue to go on.... this scene captures the pure essence of these two characters perfectly. The music is saying “Link it’s hopeless, you are surrounded. You will die.” But he refuses to leave. That dedication is sorely missing from today’s society. And don’t get me started on Zelda. This was probably one of the only times in the entire franchise history where it was blatantly clear that she loves and cares for Link. And Fi making that noise? Please Nintendo my heart can’t take it. Then at the very end the piano comes back and Zelda shifts into princess mode ordering the soldiers to take Link. Too powerful for my body. This entire scene broke me. ❤️
anyone else notice how the flower right behind Link and Zelda at 1:31 just happens to be shaped kind of like a heart? I've seen those flowers in game, they don't typically look like that. I don't know if it was on purpose or a coincidence with the moment, but yeah. figure I'd point that out.
well, old comment, but the ost's to all cutscenes were released some time ago Track is called "Zelda's Awakening" kinda hoping this comment helped you or atleast someone else searching for them
Really wish they did something like this for the final boss. Imagine a dying wounded Link giving all he's got to finally vanquish the evil that has plagued hyrule since millennia. Imagine him about to fall, but instead pulls it together and just keeps fighting like at 0:24. The fight would have for sure seemed like more was riding on it.
This is one of my favorite moments of this game. The transition from the Hero's theme to Fi's Farewell is so subtle and beautiful. I cry every time it is so beautiful and adds so much to the moment.😭
I love how Zelda telling him to run away and go on without her is his motivation to get up and keep fighting. At the end of the day Link is a soldier and he will never stop fighting until his princess is safe. He refuses to die until he knows the princess is out of danger
I never got why she said that tbh, he was pretty done by that point and she was gonna be killed, they were both doomed long before that point so it feels like dialogue for the sake of drama
@@TheEtherny I mean, she cares about him and wanted him to have a chance at running away while the guardian wasted time killing her so that's probably why she said it
The fact that the Master Sword begins to glow and "speak" to Zelda while the piano melody in the scene transforms into Fi's Theme is such a nod from Nintendo.
Cool observation, the guy on the right at 2:08 is 100% Kass’s teacher. All we know about him is that he was shiekah, he loved Zelda, and he witnessed Link’s last stand. He’s even kinda glaring at Link like only someone getting cucked can.
In Kakariko village Impa's granddaughter has a diary on the top floor of impa's building, on the final page it says Link and Zelda might be a good couple, Nintendo might make them have a relationship
Geez. Link knows he doesn't much left in him so he uses that last bit of strength to ensure Zelda is safe. Its only then he collapses knowing she was safe. Link you badass.
How she cried “No....” over again when Link died.... It pulls on my heartstrings, I would def see a Romantic relationship between them.... As king and queen of Hyrule....
During my first playthough of Botw when I got to Fort Hatino and saw all the guardians I slowly walked through them all and just wondered what the hell caused such destruction? When I got to this memory I cried like a little girl, even harder when Fi spoke to Zelda. That right there is why the Zelda franchise will always be my favorite.
I love how BOTW tells you the story of the Calamity through the memories. I remember riding through Fort Haneto for the first time thinking is this where Link fell. But finally seeing what happend after getting all the memories gave me such chills.
What I especially love about this incarnation of Link and Zelda is how Zelda saves Link's life just as much as he saves hers. She's not the typical damsel in distress, and has just as much agency in what's going on as Link does, if not more.
Because as soon as he visited the place in the game (after he wakes back up 100 years later), his memory came back to him about what happened here. It happens with the other memories
I haven't even played SS but hearing Fi after all these years is incredible, they still have a link (haha) with the hero after tens of thousands of years.

I want to see the memory of the Sheikah warriors dropping Link's limp corpse at a young Purah's doorstep and be like "Lady Purah, you must take master Link to the Shrine of Resurrection immediately!" And Purah is all "THE HELL MAN, IT'S NOT EVEN TESTED YET!!!!!"
PokemonMaster4742 it would have been great seeing them place him in the resurrection shrine and seal it up and wait for him.
Well now with Age of Calamity I'd be surprised if they didn't show that.
@@speedude0164 are you surprised?
Purah: WHY DID YOU DROP A CORPSE ON MY DOORSTEP!?
Sheikah Warriors: It's Link, we need to take him to the shrine immediately or he'll be gone forever.
Purah: Cool, but why do you need to drop his corpse on my doorstep!?
You can realise how determined he is to protect her when you notice he never let the sword go out of his hand, even if he passed out

This cutscene: Tragic death of Link while it rains and sad music plays
Me: *high pitched screaming as I get chased by a Lynel*
So true I was trying to get this memory and ended up getting chased by a few Yiga members.
is that fi talking, its the same sound effect, oh my god, this is awesome, i need to watch it again, and again until i die!!!
Yes. She's still swimming around in there.
Siddhant Agarwal 1:39 small bit of Fi's theme if you listen :)
Siddhant Agarwal Zelda said there's a voice talking to her from the sword
So Fi is still alive in there, huh.
Kei-Kun I heard that! It was awesome!
Zelda finally overcome's her jealousy of Link and once she begins caring for him, her light force awakens...

I never got why she gave that command tho, it was too late for both at that point lol, felt like misplaced drama
@@TheEthernyhow? In a desperate moment she didn’t know what to do, but what she *did* know is that she couldn’t use her powers and that Link was the powerful warrior he was meant to be. Lmao it seemed like she thought she wouldn’t be a loss but he would be. Wouldn’t call that misplaced drama
It’s so crazy how when you first encounter the Dueling Peaks Stable early in the game (or at least this was the case for me) you don’t realize it that right behind it is where Link died.
Fi: master, the batteries in your Wii remote are low

Must be a modern thing. Consider that Alexander the Great, who by age 32 had conquered much of the known world and fought in many battles, was already a seasoned warrior by the age of 18. That is a person that existed, so it's not too crazy making Link an experienced warrior like that in a fantasy setting.

Kind of shocking to see the master sword so beaten to hell, I mean it's supposed to be the ultimate weapon against evil.
But those machines aren't evil. That's like expecting the Master Sword to be the ultimate weapon against a Toaster Ganon throws at you. Just cause Ganon's evil, don't mean his toaster is.
Spenser Farman they are machines, they aren't alive, and thus cannot be good or evil, but they can be easily reprogrammed.
Andres Marrero Never said the machines were evil, just saying I've never seen the Master Sword so damaged when it was being used.
"So he can still be saved?"
"Correct. Also, the batteries in your Wiimote are low"
The sword was talking? Wait.... Is it Fi?
Twocoolman115 the sword didnt talk but he hears the voice of zelda because of the sheika-slate
Twocoolman115 yes it was fi, fi talked to zelda and told her how to keep link alive... the sound effect from fi can be heard when the sword is glowing and the background piano music incorporates a bit of fi's theme when this scene happens
Jonko Cena have you played Skyward Sword?
Smoke Jaguars yes I did but I skipped a bit of the vid and when I rewatched it I saw it
Spoilers, fi kills link when he pulls out the master sword before having 13 hearts
"You're going to be just fine!"
"(The annoyed glare of someone who knows he's being lied to because he has several new holes in his chest and torso.)"
Well technically he was just fine after he woke up 100 years 😂
Oh gosh yeah I just realized that. He's like, "Zelda I'm not an idiot I'm literally dying."
Or this could actually be an alternative to the decline timeline, instead hero died, he was saved and fought Ganob again.
It's definitely not an alternative... he's not the Hero of Time and there's no Triforce. This Zelda happens a very long time after Ocarina of TIme.
The manga isn’t canon tho. In the games the first Link to exist is the Link in Skyward Sword.
this is some deep shit
That moment when you realize Fi did the exact same thing Ghirahim did in Skyward Sword; Trying to ressurect her fallen master after a hard-fought battle and returning to them only after they've recovered.
Even more interesting, Zelda was the reason for both ressurections.
SO TRUE
God, the look they exchange at 1:20 just breaks my heart. It's so full of love and sadness. ;A;
Actually... uhm.. thats a lifeless look, link is clearly dead there.
Ive seen some of those on a couple of my pets.. unfortunately.
How fucking amazing would it be if Fi just suddenly flew out and actually talked to Zelda in a way where we can see it.
Resettic and if she looked beaten and near death like the sword its self.
Chase Minick I guess SHE'S the one with low batteries this time.

Dang zelda. You should have kissed him while you had the chance
Yeah. STOP TEASING US, NINTENDO.

Me: "Actually we still need to go get memory #6, that's a Divine Beast memory, specifically the Gerudo. So yeah, just so you know."
Zelda: "It is time for you to defeat Ganon!"
Me: "In Link's current state we probably could beat Ganon... but gonna get the last Divine Beast anyway. I don't want the Gerudo lady to be sad!"
Link: *Flashbacks of visiting Hyrule Castle to finish some quests, only having 5 hearts when doing so, and accidentally walking into the final bosses room*
1:32 and at that moment, you realize Zelda loves link.
Josh Cook This Zelda is a tsundere for Link... Nintendo just wanna tease us
yes, im pretty sure people are gonna start a debate if that was acually zelda kissing link
GTBR well you could see his face before he fainted kinda saying that he wont fall like this and will stay with her, but i only see the first part of my statement clear
GTBR link in this game reacts to nothing because the developers wants him to be a blank slate, if this was an anime he would have shown a reaction
Kass also confirms it
I bet Link was like "You still owe me $5" before passing out! XD
From the moment I heard Link's heavy and shaking breathing made me emotional..
Fi: Master, you are low on hearts.
Link: Oh, gee. Thanks for telling me, Fi. Otherwise, I might not have noticed all of this *internal bleeding.*
Oh yeah. Link's at like 1 quarter of a heart, I think he would have noticed by now 😂. Thanks a lot Fi.
Oh ma gosh ur right never noticed that good eye
They look like hearty radishes, but that's just me
Where are the flowers?
I only see the guardian.
I wish you could download the music from this cutscene. The choir with Zelda's theme is stellar
well, old comment, but the ost's to all cutscenes were released some time ago
Track is called "Zelda's Awakening"
kinda hoping this comment helped you or atleast someone else searching for them
This is an old comment, but would you know if they have the piano song after this memory ended? It is the original remixed and it's so touching 😭😭
@@isisyanqi I’ve been searching for that too, so if you found it, let me know!
Same. The piano when Link stands back up again to defend Zelda...oh my goodness.
Brian V so true I wish that would happen.
This is one of my favorite moments of this game. The transition from the Hero's theme to Fi's Farewell is so subtle and beautiful. I cry every time it is so beautiful and adds so much to the moment.😭
Hurts to see link this badly beaten
*Tries not to cry*
*Fails Horribly*

Anyone realised Link clutches his hands into fists when Zelda said its time for him to defeat Ganon

I kinda wish he had said no or something like that, and we would be finally heard him talk ^^'
0:55 does anybody else hear Zeldas lullaby ?
That hint of Fi's theme, the sound effect and glowing blue. Oh my God.
Seeing Link so close to dying was enough to break my heart. Also I know literally everyone's already said it but AYYYEE FI'S BACK!
Meead Rahman
Link DID die.
I love how BOTW tells you the story of the Calamity through the memories.
I remember riding through Fort Haneto for the first time thinking is this where Link fell.
But finally seeing what happend after getting all the memories gave me such chills.
I just now realized the music that plays in this also mirrors Zelda's theme when she awakens in Age of Calamity. That's a really neat detail!
2:20 the final part gives me tears all the time
Normal BOTW players: Omg a Guardian I have to run!
Me: *runs to immediate death*
I love this scene, but what do you think of:
If link put his hand on zeldas shoulder and squeezed ever so slightly as in a " you did it" kind of way?
Omg that would make this 100% better. True emotion, fi speaking, then that. Perfection
What I especially love about this incarnation of Link and Zelda is how Zelda saves Link's life just as much as he saves hers. She's not the typical damsel in distress, and has just as much agency in what's going on as Link does, if not more.
Wait I have a question...
How could Link remember this in a memory if he was knocked unconscious?
[TK]_Joey _ the sword is connected to him, so even if he is unconscious, the sword is basically part of his mind
Because as soon as he visited the place in the game (after he wakes back up 100 years later), his memory came back to him about what happened here. It happens with the other memories
he wasn't dead he was dying. he could have still heard or somewhat seen what happened even if he slipped in and out of conciousness
Zelda and link share the same memory KEEP UP WITH THE GAME DUDE 😂
I like to think that the memory continued on as a vision, like when he touched the master sword after the hundred years
I haven't even played SS but hearing Fi after all these years is incredible, they still have a link (haha) with the hero after tens of thousands of years.
Before link dies he looks into zeldas eyes, i find that so cute ❤
Fi: Zelda, get links ass to the shrine of resurrection. He'll be asleep for 100 years, but it's the only damn way
Seeing this reminds of how Terrako Woke up and goes through the gate of time while also having Ganon’s malice following it too.
*That moment where your crush dies (basically) in front of your eyes* at least until the master sword told Zelda, Link could still be saved
