Good vídeo Im not sure why but oil change videos I see don’t show how to change the fuel filters too I would assume that fuel filters need to be replace when doing oil change on diesel vehicles
I don't how you do it without fuel immediately running down "up"(?) your arm, and drip off the hard parts for 20 minutes after you're done and put all the tools away.
This is a good video. I have an '03 6.0L and when I drained the water reservoir and removed the fuel filter cap (different days) BOTH poured diesel. What did you do to just get a trickle?
Thanks for watching. I didnt do anything special, when i pulled the drain plug water and diesel came out. My truck has almost 190k on it now, so i will probably buy a whole new filter housing(conditioner) for the truck. If these units fail you can kiss your injectors bye bye. Also if you pull that plug and its all diesel coming out, then the internal seal of the unit is damaged and should be replaced
@@EKAutoTech , Okay, thanks on the seal. I got the water in fuel light and parked the truck right away. I used a pint beer glass to collect the fuel out of the water separator: 2 pints and NO water bubbles in the bottom of the glass. These I poured back in the tank. The next two glasses had particles in them, so they got tossed. The plug itself was in good shape. I pulled the harness off the sensor: It looked okay. After that, the water in fuel light went off. No water was found. Only 104K on the truck. It was bullet-proofed 15 months ago...
I googled it and 7/64 is 5.5xx MM but they say it is 6MM. I changed the filters yesterday but didn't bother with the plug. So I changed my fuel filters and the next day when I cold started it it made an odd engine noise. Almost as if it was having trouble to stay on but after a few minutes it idles fine.. any idea what might have happened?

Just a guess, but its possible all of the air wasnt purged from the fuel lines. After it runs for a while if that was the problem it will go away.
Can you remove water fuel separately drain if tank is full
Yes you can.
Can this filter being clogged cause a no start?
Yes. The high pressure oil pump needs about 500psi to fire the injectors.
First time doing this. When I remove the drain plug or filter cap it wont stop spilling lots of fuel. Could this be because my tank is full?
A full tank will not make any difference. Some fuel and water will come out, but if its like more than a quart then there may be something wrong with that filter housing
