Eternal champions on Sega CD was a masterpiece for that hardware no one ever gave that game it's due and I wish Sega would have made one more for Dreamcast
I absolutely love Samurai shodown on Sega CD. People say there's a glitch but I've never seen it and I've played it front to back side to side on emulators and real Hardware from a ROM or the disk.
It was amazing, but your 100 percent correct, it should have had the scaling effects of the neo geo,,, for fucks sake the sega cd could do things with scaling and rotation that the neo geo couldn’t do.
I haven't played it since I was a kid in the 90s, so what Sega Lord X said about the Heavy Nova 2's gameplay is probably true, but I liked it a lot back then. Especially: - the cut scenes - the cool music - the atmospheric stages (each set on different planets) - the fact it had fighting robots (and what little boy doesn't like fighting robots?)

Yep those snk ports are awesome, had them both back in the day, gonna replace them with some nice reproductions, one game I thought you would have had on this is, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein ,, it’s a bazaar sega cd game, but it does have a lot of fighting segments in it.. it is a really cool game, and the later fighting scenes are hard as nails

It’s no wonder that the Saturn and PlayStation had an excellent selection of 2D fighters compared to the previous generation. And the gameplay was pretty much perfected in the late 90’s.
I'm glad there's someone else who thinks Fatal Fury Special is OK. I remember a magazine review giving it %27, and just wondered why. The prices for the Euro copy are obscene
Heavy Nova... oh boy. Somehow I liked this as a kid, despite how broken and frustrating it was, but I agree it would need a lot more love and time to become a decent game. Soundtrack is pretty good though.

Saved All My Monies as a young'n for the Master System/Mega Drive, then upgraded to the GENESIS(BEST 16Bit Console! They even had NINTENDO backed up on their heels and sweatin' for a time), then 32x, Saturn, and prolly MY Personal Favorite, the SEGA DREAMCAST! Being responsible for making BOTH My Childhood AND Pre-teen/Teen years alotta Fun, I will ALWAYS hold a soft place in My Heart for SEGA! Even though they truely made ALOT of Fuck Ups (and Bastardized Sonic), I am glad we got to Experience those Fuck Ups with them! Nintendo vs SEGA was the Ali vs Tyson Dream-match of Console Wars!

So JVC (I don't know how to express this). I had Samurai Shodown and there is no error. Useless observation: There is Amakuza and there is no way to play Amakuza...🤔
I actually really enjoy Blackhole Assault. The music is terrific, the backgrounds are cool, stage tweaks like gravity are a good idea, and the players are well drawn with unique abilities. It’s my favorite Sega CD game next to Sonic CD. Your review seems too harsh, you’re allowing Heavy Nova influence your opinion here.
I loved the look of eternal champions but I found it disappointing to play. I wish someone would redevelop it. Even if it just played like streetfighter. Thered still be a solid concept to the game for itself
I love Eternal Champions the storytelling for the fighters and there past and deaths plus the learning curve of each fighter.But I think that's what held it back because of the learning curve most people gave up on it and that's sad because Sega just gave up on it because the bad game's they made staring some of the fighters.
As I have noticed, the Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive) including its add-ons are in general are pretty weak in fighters overall as I say most fighters for these systems suck. Although I will say I like Yu Yu Hakusho for the Mega Drive. I am a big fan of fighters in general but to my mind, the western made ones BLOW! (There really needs to be a term for Japanese fighters as they are the best you’ll get in experiencing these games) But Mortal Kombat is the exception though despite me not being a big fan of it and wanting to play MK9, X and 11. Anybody else think the Genesis sucks as a fighting machine despite its six button pad? The Super Famicom/NES definitely has superior fighters in my regard. For the best fighters on a Sega system, go for Saturn (the controller fits perfectly!) and Dreamcast. Not related but worth mentioning, the PlayStation line has plenty of good or just fuckin’ awesome fighting games!
Or you can go the PS2 route and buy Samurai Shodown Anthology on PS2 released in 2009 they are exact ports of the Neo Geo Arcade classics or you can go play the Nintendo Switch version too

Actually the graphics are good in Brutal Paws of Fury and is so much better than the fmv games on the Sega CD.

Street Fighter 2 was my dream for Sega CD😭 Capcom works on Excelent Final Fight CD.....

Eternal Champions was garbage. This is largely due to the terrible move animation. I've never understood how anybody could defend it.
