Big negativ point is that it just got 110db spl instead of 140db on the first gen. That reflect in heavy distortion in windy conditions and also useless for recording loud car audio or drums
Also voltage output is too high for many cameras which also lead to distortion.
Very good points, but I’ll have to take your word for it as your information is far more in depth than I tend to go on these reviews. Unfortunately I’m now audio expert, just giving a users point of you. Thanks.
@@chrisguess if it sounds good for your cases that's all it matter. But you don't need to be a ln expert to hear when it clipping heavily in windy or loud conditions.
For indoors and or outside without wind its great.
Also a fair point. Luckily I haven’t had cause to use it in those conditions yet.

No problem.
Great question, I haven’t had chance to compare them directly. However I would imagine from memory they would sound very similar. The Go II just has a bunch of extra bells and whistles, USB control etc.

Well for this video it’s pretty close, say maybe 10-15 cm, but it’s an on camera mic designed for vlogging so should be good at an arms length. See the outdoor vlogging section of the video, could be maybe up to 1m away. Just watch the gain if you have it close.
It sounds better than the original sound you started the video with. Let me explain it sounds way fuller and louder than the first mic you started with. I'm listening on my iPad even outside sounds good. I'm very impressed with the mic. Hopefully, my feedback is helpful.
I was thinking the same, I have used it on some videos since because I really like the way it sounds.
