Incredible comparison! Instead of using a studio to compare, this way ppl can actually hear how it really sounds like. Since ppl that would buy this are almost likely to use it outside instead of a studio. Making most comparisons on UA-cam irrelevant tbh lol this by far is the best one yet! AWESOME JOB!!!!!
I'm looking at getting one of these for shooting bird videos where the subject is typically 5-15m (18'-50') away and just want something that will pick up the sound of the bird without my heavy breathing and wind noise. If it's better than the internal mic on my Canon R6 ii I'll be happy
This clears out my question! I bought the Micro 2, thought I checked out the Go ii ☹️ Happy to know they are closely the same! Except for the Type C and improved shock mount
I was searching video reviews for the VideoMic Go and the VideoMicro, as I'm looking for a camera mic for recording Brazilian Samba Bands, and what are the odds? There's one right there on your video! Thank you very much, this was really useful
Have you experienced wind getting through the DeadCat on the VideoMicro II? I've seen someone test and retest this and couldn't get the DeadCat to work effectively.
Which mic you like better out of the rode videomicro ll or and rode videomic go ll? Because I had the rode videomicro ll for months now since I got me a camera and i just heard about the rode videomic go ll the features that come with it that i like so should i go with the rode videomicro ll or the rode videomic go ll?
Great video. They both lack of bass response making your voice sound thin. I have the video Micro II, but I´m selling it because the Boya BY MM1+ sounds way better and even has a headphone output.
Big negativ point is that it just got 110db spl instead of 140db on the first gen. That reflect in heavy distortion in windy conditions and also useless for recording loud car audio or drums
@@travelpatron depends. If you want to record loud environments go with version 2. If it just wind use proper dead cat. But I've seen a lot videos where version 2 is struggling with clipping in wind
These are not intended for that reason. Removing background noise you need a different microphone. These are for recording the ambience and whatever sound comes directly to the microphone. You can remove in edit but there are more expensive microphones that can do that

This was such a fun day! I'm glad we were able to use the Rode mics to capture it. :)
Thanks for making this comparison between the two mics possible!
Thats honestly the best review/comparison video I've ever seen, not only about the mics
I bought RODE VideoMic GO II after seing your video and I Subscribe. Thx. Greetings from Belgium
Thanks, they sound nearly identical on a laptop speaker, that's exactly what I needed, excellent video

@@JoeHan268 So far, I cant say anything about performance. It gives me what I need :)

That 3:00 portion of the vid was amazing. Thanks for dropping this vid!

Thanks for the review. It was super helpful. I am about to place an order
Hello! Choosing a microphone between rode videomicro and comica vm10 pro, what would you recommend?

Wow. Thanks for confirming that. I was thinking if the cheap Boya could do the job.
Boya by mm1+
Hi Paul, What microphone should I use in very noisy environment such as an Engine Room for example?
The closer you can get the microphone to the source, the better. So in this case I’d recommend a lapel:
Big negativ point is that it just got 110db spl instead of 140db on the first gen. That reflect in heavy distortion in windy conditions and also useless for recording loud car audio or drums
So the video micro is better than video micro 2? I need to buy a microphone for windy conditions which one should I buy?
@@travelpatron depends. If you want to record loud environments go with version 2.

maybe bc it‘s not as processed with the lows? the lows already highpassed a lot with the first gen
Nice video! What color profile are you recording on? is it Slog3?
Rode VídeoMicro ou Comica Vm-10 Pro?
USB-C is selling point for me. It's just easier to plug it to recent smartphones and laptops. Soundwise these are almost the same
Rode videomicro 2 doesn't work very well when is wind in my test. The original videomicro it's much better than the new videomicro 2.
Hi, I need to know what that puffer jacket is. That's so sick
Can I ask which camera and lens this was filmed on!? 😮beautiful quality
Hey! I film with the Sony a7siii and the Tamron 35-150 lens. I have a custom color LUT I use in most of my edits.
Thanks! Do you use some tripod for camera?
why the sound from my videomic go II is so quite, and when I adjust the volume in post, it's sounds terrible
maybe you can set audio volume input in camera higher
Loved the video…I just bought the rode videomicro 2 cause I was looking for something small with good audio ❤💯
Thanks! The Micro II is crazy good for its size and it sounds nearly identical to the already really good VideoMic GO II.
Great video! Thanks for the comparison!
Thank you! You thinking about picking one of them up?
@@paulAntill I eventually went for the VideoMic GO II, the fact you can use the mic for other devices was pretty handy!
Is it capable to use with iPhone?
What was the audio level?
Dope comparison
In germany price difference is like 30 euros so I'm probably gonna buy micro-2. Is mic 2 wort ekstra 30 euros? Great video by the way.
Great vid
thx pal

Great hands down comparison. Btw great jacket 😂
