This might sound weird but I LOVE how vibrant all the colors are. From the mountain, to the light effects, down to the cactus’ and plants... it’s just amazing and great contrast all together.
It's not weird at all - I was just thinking the same thing XD As far as stagecraft goes, it's really well done.
I do not want to disappoint you but it's less vibrant than you think. But I do not know ! I only ride this version ! Maybe the US and French version have different colors and contrast...

The ride is actually based on a canyon in utah USA called bryce canyon.

That puts California Disneyland Big Thunder Mountain to shame.
Not to mention that it’s lore is interluded with Phantom Manor.
We were just there last month and rode it for the first time and wow... yeah. Hands down the best Big Thunder of the three I've tried (DL, DW and Paris). I'm not sure when they went where the wait time was that short (only 15 minutes according to the sign). The parks were pretty dead when we were there and it had probably the longest line of any of the rides... wait times were usually 45-70 minutes.

Good starter rollercoaster for someone who’s afraid of them. No big drops, no loops(obviously), not too fast. The worst/most intense sections are getting to and from the island. It goes under the lake in a tunnel, but it’s pitch black and comes as a surprise, not being able to see what’s going on for those parts helps too if you’re normally scared. The rest of the ride is easy-street, just nice fun little twists and turns on modest slopes. With ground always beneath the tracks.
I’ve always been terrified of coasters but this is the one that broke the fear and got me going on more of them. Definitely a worthwhile ride for anyone.
Does the rollercoaster have any big/ fast drops in the pitch black sections? I'm very scared of rollercoasters, especially when I can't see whats going on...
@@trashleigh87 I did this ride recently (keep in mind, I'm not the biggest rollercoaster fan, in fact, this same ride got me being scared of rollercoasters when I was younger) and no there's huge drops in the dark, it's mainly turning right and left. But I gotta admit I was not reassured either, I hate it when I don't see anything 😅
I went on mega phobia in Oakwood when I was 12 and that scared me for life and it was so fast so since then I’ve been afraid of roller coasters. I’m going to Disney in July with my friend and she likes all the rides but I don’t. Please could you advise how fast and scary this ride is ? And would you say it’s faster then mega phobia in Oakwood ?

Matthew Donovan the only one actually on an island adds to the scenery, and it ties in with phantom manor which helps everything about Frontierland

This is definitely the best Big Thunder Mountain out of all of the parks. When I was in Paris last month I wondered why it was more popular over there than Space Mountain but now I totally get it.

@@abrandingcompany7118 I do not say there is no line. But back when the ride was in his De la terre à la Lune or Mission 2 versions, there was way more waiting.
Gilles Verstraeten maybe things are different now that it's closer to summer. I went the second week of May on weekdays and the wait for this was usually close to an hour while space mountain was about 20-30 minutes.
If I had to rank every Big Thunder Mountain, my list would be:
1. Paris
2. Tokyo
3. Anaheim
4. Orlando

GN Paris’s Thunder Mountain is in the middle of their Rivers, with the station on the mainland, and Tokyo has a more intense ending than Anaheim and Orlando

Brings back childhood memories, when I was 8 I left the UK for the first time with my family to go to Disneyland Paris. We queued for ages for this ride, thinking it was something somehow gentler than what it was still. Then we actually realised what it was and went on it anyway. Was very scary but great fun at the same time, the holiday made some great memories.

This is absolutely breathtaking and dynamic train ride.
Lol when i was 4 i was in disneyland and my dad thought diss was the slow train damn i got a trauma i went to all the sides of the kart
Going on this as a kid was so amazing, the theming and the ride taking place on it's own dedicated island really made it transport you to another world. Funnily enough watching this back now as an adult it doesn't seem nearly as huge and exciting as it did before, everything is 10x more magical as a child!

I've only done Paris and WDW and the Paris one is much much better then the florida one imo. It looks amazing as you approach with the station being on the opposite side of the river to the actual mountain and the way it travels under the river to get there. It's wild. I also think Paris has better version of Pirates and Haunted Mansion/Phantom Manor tbh...
MaddAddaM Phantom Manor in Paris is good but completely different to the other Haunted Mansions so its hard to compare.
But the Magic Kingdom has the best Haunted Mansion. It has an interactive queue, its the most modern version (along with Paris), the attraction has interactivity with the Magic Bands (unique WDW feature), there’s a whole themed shop called Memento Mori, and a ghost outside during Halloween. Its a lot more complete than Phantom Manor..
Pirates is better in Paris for sure. Tower of Terror is better at WDW. It depends on the ride

I rode this in September 2019, it was my first ever time at any Disney park and we had just arrived, this was my first ride and it really hyped me for the rest of the park. The only issue with this ride is that I waited 3 hours for it (though I think technical issues were happening all around the park that day) but this is truly a great ride!
I keep trying to check my audio on my phone when I see the intro of a video and no corresponding sound! Are you going to add audio back to you’re intro?
This, in my opinion, is the best ride in Disneyland. It always puts a smile on my face. I love going on it when the sun has gone down and you get the ambience of your surroundings in the dark.

My favourite memory of this ride was when I rode it when the fireworks went off. Amazing! It’s 100% better to ride at night.
Went to Disney land Paris last month and I never liked roller coasters, but now I have the buzz for them. This was the first ride my family and I went on, and it was awesome. This ride is so fast and it's rather long. The scenery is fantastic. This is a MUST ride.

This was my first ever rollercoaster. I was about 7/8 and my dad told me it was a gentle train ride. Came out crying but loved every minute and wanted to go again and that’s where my love for rollercoasters came from

The best Big Thunder mountain
I dig the tunnels at the very beginning and very end, going under the water to take you back and forth from lakeside to the island.
I must say when I rode this, it was very fun. Much faster than the one in Floirdia
I've been going to DLP for about 12/13 years now and I could never pick up the courage to do Big Thunder Mountain. I'm NOT a rollercoaster person.....I'm more the Carousel type🎠.....but it always looked like great craic so every year I promised myself I'd do it.....and every year I chickened out 🫣 Then last year (2022) I finally decided it was time. I hated it......then I did it again and hated it a little less.....and then I did it one more time and figured it wasn't so bad!!! Just came back from the most recent trip last week - did it 3 times and, whilst it still gives me heart palpitations whilst I'm standing in the queue, I admitted to my long suffering thrill seeking family that they were right all along........I LOVE THIS RIDE (and it's now my favourite!!!) Looking forward to next year's adventure......I've come a long way baby 😂🎢🎢

Did this one yesterday, it was so so fun! I think this was my first roller coaster ever. Because last time I went to Disney I was only 6 or 7 and these things scared me. But definitely want to do again
Paris truly has the best Big Thunder Mountain Railroad of all the Disney parks! Seeing the hoodoos reflected on the river in the moonlight is truly breathtaking! Can't wait to go back to DLRP when we can travel again!

I went onto this ride when I was seven and I was terrified but I think now I would have loved it!
I kinda agree with you I went on it when I was 8 it was super fast then but now I’m starting to get used to coasters so I might like this if I go on again
I love going on this one at night in conjunction with Phantom Manor. It actually gets creepy when you make the connection between the stories, and then see all the creepy bats and darkness. Everything in this park seems a little spookier, even the pirates ride with its dark cranky lifthill

OMG me too. But this was really scary. I was only 8 years old and I cried for ages after. And space mountain was even scarier. Ever since I never went on another rollercoaster ever again. Im 20 now.

I recently visited Disneyland Paris and this was probably one of my favorite rides I went on. Me and my family all went on at the same time, and were screaming in joy all the way and couldn't stop laughing afterwards. I would have loved to go again, but we were pressed for time and the wait time was just 55 minutes, after waiting about 90 the first time. It was worth it though.

One of the few advantages of Disneyland Paris in comparison to other parks. Everyone loves the ride (although it can get loud sometimes). Love throwing water at my girlfriend when passing the waterfall
I went on this ride when i was like 4 with my uncle, i cried the whole ride long and was scared of it really bad. I think i went on it again at 8 years old with my dad and i really enjoyed it, its been my favorite ride ever since.
I love hvis ride so much, if you ever get The chance to go to Paris, you CAN NOT miss this ride!

I went there 3 years ago. It first I was scared, but then I really enjoyed it. Then I was able to go on the Hyperspace Mountain!
Seems very similar to WDW, I feel like the flooded mining town would be when the ride “splashes” down into the river before the second lift hill.
yeah it is pretty close to wdw but having ridden both, the beginning and the end of this ride really make it for me. Especially the finale, as it has some nice theming in the final cave and goes pretty fast.

Rode this one not long ago, the tunnel at the end went so fast! I think it's a nice scenery to see the attraction in the middle of the river.

I did this ride actually not too long ago and it is my ultimate favorite rollercoaster out if all of them. It does go faster then it shows on camera but is SUPER fun I definitely rate it 10/10😊

I can't explain why but after all these years, my favourite part is the first underground section. I was so scared of it when I was a kid because I couldn't see what was going on, I could only hear people screaming :D

They're ALL fantastic. DL is more intimate and not the same vistas, but I also love how huge the Paris one is. The DL one seems to have more centrifugal spins like Space Mountain.
Rode it in 1982 with my parents in Disneyworld.... rode it last night with my husband. It never grows old. The Paris one is spectacular. At nighttime it's just even more exciting. I just always wonder why they don't use the smoke effect anymore in the dynamite tunnel.

Never been to other Big Thunder Mountain ride except this one but it seems that the consensus is that it is the best out of them all? Then I'm glad I got to ride it a dozen times when I was young. One of my favourite Disneyland Paris ride with Space Mountain Mark I and Indiana Jones rollercoaster.
