- [4K] Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril Roller Coaster ride at Disneyland Paris. This Indiana Jones ride is not a dark ride like at Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
Did you guys know there are 2 Disney parks in Paris? Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Theme Park. For more info and ticket, please visit the official website at disneylandparis.com
Video filmed with May 2019 with a GoPro Hero 7.
That really needs Indiana Jones music, it really didn't feel like an Indiana Jones themed ride.
C-3PstOned so true that’s what I said.
C-3PstOned yes
This is kinda like those coaster rides at a Fair where all there is is the display and then it's just the coaster.
Zonas aaZxxzaasdn.
True but they probably don't wanna get copyrighted
The theming is nice but it is rather basic for a Disney coaster.
BrotatoChip it’s normal beacause in 1992 at the opening space mountain was not finished and the park lacked coaster so they decided to create a temporary coaster this is how indiana jones et le temple du peril was created sorry if there are spelling mistake but îm french I hope I would have enlightened you on the creation of this coaster
Yeah, it's just a standard (Pinfari?) coaster like the ones you see all over the place at the seaside. AFAIK it's a super cheap model... aside from "Because Disneyland" I'm not sure why anyone would spend so much money theming such a cheap ride.
Not all coasters are about themeing but most are probably 2 do not have themeing
@@Ingestedbanjo It actually is an intamin coaster. Don't ask me which type. Intamin just copied the Pinfari TL-59 layout.
@@YannisGoedermans Oh that explains why the track looked different then!
It needs Indiana Jones Theme music piped in through it.
tf51d i agree
tf51d yeah
And maybe an animatronic of Indy. That would complete it
And it should’ve had a indoor show scene of Indiana jones or something
Agreed rides like Rock n Roller Coaster and Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout gets so much extra thrill just from the music alone this and Goofy’s Sky School in DCA need background music to make it seem more enticing
This coaster makes such a caracteristic noise. When I was a child, everytime we went there (I was too young to ride it) you could hear that loud wind noise, kinda like a maya spirit, it was really impressive. I tend to think that's why there's no music or animations, besides the fact this coaster was meant to be temporary.
Beside being in a Minecart. There is nothing here that shouts Indiana Jones! XD
IIRC it wasn't supposed to be Indiana Jones labeled at first, just the "abandoned jungle colonialist" theme since there was plans for an actual Indiana Jones Adventure Ride, but it never saw the light of day. There is a symbolic Jeep Willis placed in the center of the meadow where the ride would have been built
@@WeidzM Oh. Lel.
It would be amusing to me personally if speakers in the cars had some voice shouting, "Indiana Jones!" occasionally. Not that I think that's a good idea. I understand in California, it was either Splash Mountain or more Indiana Jones stuff, so they went with just the one iJ ride. I would've preferred more IJ, *personal preference.*
Ikr disneyland cali one is better
True
I do like the layout of this compact coaster and the theming is strong also. I do agree adding some ambient sounds of the jungle or from the movies would be nice touch.
This was amazing at night time when it was all dark and lit up with lanterns. I didn't know it had a loop before going on it and it was my first big ride since I was very young cus I've always been scared but I loved it!
Literally same
Is it a good option to experiment a loop for first time? I've never go on a big coaster because they scare me...
@@YellowRaven_tbh ive never been on it before but it looks like a good place to start if youve never been on a loop considering the loop's quite small
Me too, I got to the front of the line and saw the loop and my heart sank. Panicked the whole ride and it was actually fine and I'm not great on big rides.
Very disappointing. Looks like a coaster you’d find at a county fair but with somewhat nice theming. 😞
Yeah "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril" almost like Disney execs in Europe are phoning it in.
I get in this ride and it really Hurts at your back by the looping. I don't want to ride this again !!
Lolie Pop I rode this back in 2004 when I went to Paris. Hitting my head against the shoulder restraints wasn’t my favorite memory. I agree with you that I wouldn’t ride this coaster again
joxer96 it’s soooo scary though😂 I screamed the whole time 😂🎀💫🌻
Oh believe me it was crazy
If you are watching this and you are afraid of the loop: don’t be, this was my first one and it wasn’t bad at all! I felt so much more on the second drop 😉 so if you’re good with drops you are fine!
I rode this roller coaster and the truth is that I didn't even realize it the loop haha
Thanks so much! I am at Disney right now, we’re about to go back from the hotel to watch the illuminations but while it’s light when we’re there we’re going to do a few rides, I was really scared if this ride but I wasn’t that scared if the experience I was just scared of the loop, I have a lot more confidence now, thank you!!!
I’m not great with drops I think I’m out
thank's 💪💪 i was very afraid, and have do my first loop in this roller coaster after seeing your comment 😊
Thank you ❤ the loop was kinda scary but FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did u guys know, that the indiana jones rollercoaster in dlp paris, from 2000 till 2004 the trains were going backwards. due to negative reactions they didnt go on with that. After further refurbishment, the ride was riding forward instead of backwards.
They should switch the harness to the new ones used in Space Mountain Mission 2 and try it again
I went in it once in that periode and after that always skipped it because i got sick. I went multiple times to dlp and always skip this rollercoaster because of this. Finally see a video and your comment. So next time I can enjoy the ride again. Thanks
Track piece for track piece, looks identical to the first coaster I conjured on Roller Coaster Tycoon 1.
Maybe you should go apply at imagineering?
Man I miss those games
At Anaheim the Indiana Jones attraction is incredible! It isnt that extreme but it represents better the theme 😊
in paris our space mountain is much better than yours 😌
Regina Chaparro it’s actually anaheim but yeah! i’m local and go to disneyland and dca almost every day!
@@anniehuynh4707 Cool! I wish I could go to Disneyland every day ☺
@Brie Flyyy we too shortly
Scuderia aaron Yeah I liked Discovery Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune
Definitely think this ride would be perfect as an indoors coaster at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios. Needs a few more elements but it would be Disney's version of the Revenge of the Mummy.
Well I wasn't expecting a loop on such a compact Disney coaster
This was my first loop in my life when I was 14 years old, this helped me to enjoy the rollercoasters now (I was so scared of the loops, and after this ride I remember that I just went to Space Mountain and the Arerosmith one... an extreme change)
My first looping coaster was cylon at 8 years old, OH EY IM NO SHOW OFF A
My first loop was this year at 12 years old
Space Mountain was the first thing I went on in Disneyland, almost passed out xd
But this ride I actually liked, it was my first loop aswell, it was great.
Mine was Space Mountain. I was fifteen or so and I hated rides growing up, I went to Disney land with my friend and her family. I swore the whole trip that I’d only go on rides that don’t have a loop and that was my limit. Well her and her brother spoke Turkish and I didn’t so they deceived me into going onto the ride and I fucking loved it...After the fact that when I got off the ride I dropped to the ground from being so pathetically dizzy- I was jokingly pissed that the brother lied to me and she allowed it but now I’m grateful because it helped me get over my fear.
what was it like in terms of being your first looping coaster?
Me: I’ll go on this
Also me: sees upside down never mind
Edit:I have been on my first upside Down ride
Edit 2: omg this looks so much fun
Millie Eve Holmes Why is this me tho
Me: Meh this ride looks boring
Also me: Sees upside down "I guess it's okay..."
Being upside dow isn’t bad at all!!! I was super scared too and eventually I tried one and now I love looping rollercoasters and actually regret not ridding one sooner!
@@braydencarter2419 I've been on looping coasters and they make me feel really light headed and dizzy so OP might have the same reasoning.
SAME 🙋♀️
This is by far the most painful rollercoaster I’ve ever ridden. I ended up with a headache after this one.
I was looking for this type of comment exactly. I went here and it hurt my back so badly. This coaster is bad.
@@nathancole9823 It was really smooth when I went on it this year
Yeah it hurts the shoulders pretty bad after a few goes. You can ride space mountain all day. Not this one.
I just went on it a few weeks ago and YES 😅I didn't ride it again because of that 😬😮💨
Ur weak no way this hurt u i went there and nothing happened
Everyone says that this attraction looks cheap and bad... but honestly this is one of my favorites at Disneyland Paris. Every time I go there I do this attraction, it’s a part of my childhood ! It looks waaaay better in real life and the theming is actually really nice (sorry if I made mistakes, I’m french 😅)
Il est plutôt cool, oui.
If it’s part of your childhood, I can understand. Everyone has a love for the rides they grew up with. I grew up in San Diego, California. So I went to Disneyland my whole life. Indiana Jones is my favorite ride at Disneyland, and it’s a dark ride. It was so different than a roller coaster ride, and so amazingly fun. Although, over the years….the quality has dropped significantly.
I am dutch😂 Google Translate can help me
It’s a great ride, very underrated. People are quick to judge based on a video but you need to experience it. Short ride but the theming is cool and has 2 good drops and a loop. Very compact layout.
The ride was really amazing but it was really bumpy and it kept making us bang our heads to the sides
レイジングとコースは全く一緒だけど、こっちは滑らかさが凄いw
こっちのほうが細いし非常時の遊歩道がないからさらに恐怖が湧いてくる
I came looking for this comment. It’s exactly like Raging Spirits. Very tame roller coaster.
Kinda wish it was an indoor coaster
The one at disneyland California is. Its my favorite ride there.
@@swiftysawesomechannel1248 that's not a roller coaster though
good idea but they already have space mountain which is already wayyyyyy better than the one in florida
Every single time I've ridden this I've ended up with bruises on my shoulders. So rough and uncomfortable, especially compared to the Tokyo clone. Don't bother waiting if the line is long, save yourself the pain!
Yeah, the transitions are horrible, but if you hug the restraint tightly it’s just fine for me and actually enjoyable
I seriously love Disneyland with all my heart, but this is one of the worst rollercoasters I've ever been on.
-no music
-doesn't feel like a disney coaster
-the seats are uncomfortable and I had massive back/neck pain after I got off
-too short
-boring looping
I wouldn't say this with any other Disney Rollercoaster, but they should tear it down and build something new.
Like the original Indy ride at Disneyland (Anaheim).
Like make the Indiana Jones miniland that they were supposed to do
I guess I wasn't the only dude to feel back/neck pain after riding this
Guess you've never been on gadget go coaster 😂
@@amixofvids2475 Yeah that is worse than this one but at least it didn't give me back and neck pain after
Am I right in counting 7 block elements excl. the station?
Brake 1: 0:50 - 1:02
Lift-hill: 1:28
Brake 2: 1:45
Brake 3: 1:56
Brake 4: 2:13
Brake 5: 2:25
Brake 6: 2:32.
If you include the two-train station, this would amount to a theoretical block count of 9, which would allow them to run 8 trains at once?
The intervals between the exits of two following block elements is the following:
Brake 1 - top of lift hill: 26 seconds
top of lift hill - Brake 2: 17 seconds
Brake 2 - Brake 3: 11 seconds
Brake 3 - Brake 4: 17 seconds
Brake 4 - Brake 5: 12 seconds
Brake 5 - Brake 6: 7 seconds
I believe that in order to have the trains run smoothly the time spent in one block section should never be more than the time spent in the previous block section. Because of this, we can see that Brake 2 - Brake 3 can not be a block section on its own; using it as such would yield a lot of stops at Brake 3, because by the time the train from Brake 2 has reach Brake 3 the section ahead has not been cleared as it takes 6 seconds more to clear the part between Brake 3 and 4 than it takes to clear Brake 2 to 3. Therefore, the top of the lift hill to Brake 3 should be one section, which takes a total of 28 seconds to clear. This does mean that a train has to wait at the first brakes for an average of two seconds unless the part from the station to the top of the lift hill is one section. It is strange to me that that is not the case. The fact that our train stopped at Brake 1 indicates that that is in fact a block brake
Absolutely one of the most painful rollercoaster I've been on at Disney. Came off with a cracking headache and sore knees. .. it's like they have never heard of banking !
Feels like they managed to fit a roller coaster in 2 inches of space lol.
I have really fond memories of this coaster, it's a little rough on the loop and is quite short but I loved it when I was younger, the loop feels really tight like you could bump heads with the people on the back of the ride.
This was by far better as it was backwards.
Now it´s one of the worst attractions at Disney Paris. :/
no its one of the best
looks like a classic "wild mouse" type with one loop and anexpensive facade
Yea same for me but except it’s faster and more intense
I remember going on this ride when I was in Disneyland Paris on July 2nd. And I absolutely loved it. I don’t care if I got a headache or not, but it was still fun. The ride even had a loop which I enjoy about roller coasters.
Disney Ride Engineers: This ride is too boring, how can we make it better?
Some Random Dude: Add a two-second loop-de-loop and call it a day.
Disney Ride Engineers: You've been promoted to the top spot!
I really loved it aside from the staff who was very unpleasant with us.
I love coasters like that, great video buddy
I went on this ride back in November in pouring rain and it was insane, couldn’t see anything and got soaked by the end of the ride but it was worth it!
You really think this is insane??? Lol
Ryan in what way was it worth it. You should ride the actual Indian Jones ride in Disneyland Anaheim
@@ario9907 that is much better
Eric Reynolds it was only “insane” because of the pouring rain 😂
Ario I have ridden both and they are better than the one in Paris, I was just sharing my experience
As someone afraid of big roller coasters, I really love this one, not scary at all. Just keep in mind to push your head strongly on the headrest because it can shake a bit.
first upside down ride I went on and I remember crying in line 😍
I rode on this in 2000... but the cars were backwards. I assumed that's they way they always were positioned, but maybe it was just something they did that day. It was a fairly short and pedestrian coaster; but going backwards and not really seeing where you were going definitely spiced it up a bit.
I was terrified the whole time I was on this, I closed my eyes for the whole time and thought I passed out when we did the loop the loop. 😅
If you like rough carnival rides, this one is right up your alley
My first proper roller coaster ride years ago. Keep your head against the rest and enjoy ! Only back from the park, and didn’t get to do it this year. Next year, yes or maybe if I can get out again this year. Two planes, trains and hotel is expensive, but worth it.
I can’t wait to ride this again!
This is the exact same coaster as Raging Spirits at Tokyo Disneysea with less practical effects
Wrong. There are slight differences in Layout
Raging spirits has such a better vibe!!!
The practical fire and water effects on Raging Spirits are effective, and make it nicer than this.
But because i live in germany this ride is near to me than the one in japan
so that means we will be seeing a low light pov of the new phantom manor soon? hope so, u guys have the best low light videos on youtube
Yup! We will post it next week when we get home.
Indiana Jones Coaster Ride ! No matter what Year you come, it's always good 😊
Me and my friends actually got stuck on this ride! Nonetheless this ride was incredible.
The loop on this one used to knock the bollocks out of me. You really feel the Gs
Ive been on this ride, and let me tell you. It is not as fun as it looks! Everything is very shaky, my little brothers was jamming his head the whole way through.
Well it doesn't look fun so....
The Cool Math Gamer I went on this seven times with no problem?
Not once while watching this did I think it looked fun 😂
Went on this recently and it is more fun than the video.
The 40 dislikes come from people who got a headache from it
While this ride is short, I actually really enjoyed it! It does hurt your head a bit though
It is a fun and intense ride, better during the night!
I live next to there so i go to disneyland like 3 times a year, and this ride is still one my favorite even though its not themed its so much fun
日本で言うレイジングスピリッツ?
構造が全く同じですね...笑
日本のやつだとインディジョーンズ関係無いけど(どちらかといえばタワーオブテラー絡み)こっちのはインディジョーンズのストーリー絡みかな?
This I've went on, so fun and I'm really missing it 😍😍
Pretty cool. If they combined that, sith the atmosphere and music of the Disneyland one, it’d be the perfect Indiana Jones ride, in my opinion.
this was my first ever rollercoaster and it was amazing
I didn't even know there was a loop in it until I was sitting in the ride lol
Looks cool. I wouldn't have expected a loop-di-loop in a coaster this size.
There were times when it went backwards😉 it was scarier
I was just telling someone it was gonna go backwards, but not anymore?
This is a good rollercoaster, the shaking and roughness adds to the old feeling of an old rollercoaster
This is similar to Raging Spirits coaster in Tokyo Disney Sea
LOL I was just watching your old footage of this ride last night!
During a school trip my group of friends left me to go and ride this thing repeatedly for almost 4 hours (I don't like going on rollercoasters). They said they would only be going on ONCE. I was so angry when they got back...
Just rode this one today, was pretty scary but very cool, the loop especially
Preparing myself for the loop tomorrow!
Those first two drops were L A M E
I went on this at night and the sound scared me so much I kept my eyes shut the whole time..so this is what it looks like !🤣
Brilliant ride! It makes a lot of metal noises to give the feeling of something old and dangerous ! Brutal, quick and a real adrenaline punch ! Imagineering at its best !
Love Disneyland Paris 😍
This is almost a carbon copy of Klondike Gold Mine which used to be at Drayton Manor (Staffordshire, UK) before it moved elsewhere. They certainly gave this one some nice theming at DLP but it definitely is a traveling fairground-type coaster.
i went on the ride for the first time a couple weeks ago. before going on this i went to space mountain for the first time, i was extremely scared of loops and didnt know there were any on space mountain bc it was me and my friends first times going on them and we love adrenaline so didnt look at any videos. i loved it, it wasnt scary and we went on 2 times. but the thing is that i didnt get scared cause it was dark and quick so i couldnt see. i didnt want to go on indiana jones but my friend said she wouldnt go on without me so i said fine. i went on and first of all the seat was so uncomfortable, it was hard and i hit my head like 5 times hard. when it came to the loop from stress i fainted until the end of the ride. when i went off both me and my friends head was hurting and my friend said that she hurt her neck at the loop. i didnt like it, maybe other people have a different experience. also it didnt feel like indiana jones. the one in america is way better.
Omg i still remember when i went there
This was my favourite
Great video dude!
That looping is so intense! :o
What a cool compact layout. AND did we just take a loop? That was very unexpected. I literally gasped out loud HA!
I’m going there next year I really want to go on this x
Caitlin Joyner i was there, but i’m going there next year too lol ;D i’ll definitely go on dis ride
Knowing me, I’d probably cry my eyeballs out
That looks pretty fun. I would probably go on that. Some other rides I have seen on video look a lot scarier
This attraction left me with a migraine for the rest of my visit that day 😕 I had high hopes for it
Such a mediocre coaster. The track layout is boring, and the theming is underwhelming by Disney's standards. At least it's not backwards anymore!
remember though it was the first coaster with a inversion to b built by Disney il say no more on that
tom head That’s not why it isn’t great though. They wanted something quick and relatively cheap as a stop gap before Space Mountain. They then got Intamin to clone a track design of a common fairground coaster from Pinfari.
Dohers It was only meant to be temporary, which is probably why it isn’t the best ride you’ve seen
If they wanted minecart ride, they should have put it all indoors, in a cave/mine-like setting. Very disappointing by Disney standards.
It used to be backwards! That sounds so much cooler 😂
This coaster really doesn’t need over the shoulder restrains and could easily do with lap bars
Pretty sure it legally needs them because of the loop
If there‘s a loop and there‘s only lap bars. I for sure am not ever going on that coaster😂 Feels way too unsafe.
I’ve been on it at night and there!s fell fire that’s lite it AMAZING # 3rd fav ride rock and rollercoaster is my fav and space Mountain is 2nd
Love it!!!! I like this attraction!
海外のレイジングスピリッツ

Pretty interesting. First Phantom Manor, then this.
Bro that looks awesome
When I was last there and rode this, it went backwards. Not my finest moment when I got off!
I rode this last year and when I say it was one of the most physically painful ride experiences I'd had on a ride and on top of that having such disappointing sound and theme design (for Disney especially) almost made me not wanna go back to Disneyland Paris.
Because of 1 ride?
@@jelle_bol6985 yes. it was a super negative experience. I got so sick afterwards I still think about it. But I plan on returning regardless. Just avoiding this ride at all costs.
@@EvitaSings That must really suck for you. I was at Disney Paris today and i think it's a really cool ride. My lil bro also complained about it, so i sorta know what you mean. Big Thunder all the way!
@@jelle_bol6985 oh for sure thunder mountain and phantom manor are two of my favorite all time rides now
Hello Eva, may I ask you why was it? I have some little back problems so I'm trying to understand which roller-coaster avoid at disneyland Paris. Thank you in advance!
Anyone else think they should build around the facade so that the ride is 'indoors', add some music and light fx and it could be something good.
Attraction indémodable depuis l'ouverture du parc en 1992
If an Indiana Jone ride doesn't have a big round boulder trying to kill me at the end, then I don't want it.
Im at disney paris right now!! Im queueing foe this ride rn lol x
Really needs the iconic music and a couple of dark ride scenes that it slows down through. Not up to Disney standards.
Can I ask how did you record it? It was with a gopro chest mount, or on a tripod?
Ok so y’all have to know that this ride wasn’t meant to stay. It was made to replace the missing of Space Mountain at the opening, that wasn’t ready to be ridding. But bc people really enjoyed the attraction, Disney decided to leave it here ^^ ! So it’s normal that “there’s not enough thematic” and all, it’s was made really fast !! (Sorry for my bad English, baguette you know)
Oh it is called "Raising Spirits" in Tokyo Disney Sea! The same ride!
When I visited DLP in 2001, we went on this and it actually ran backwards. They ran it that way for a couple of years, and it was definitely a different feel.
Also uncomfortable restraints with no reaction time through the layout
Much more fun at the opening, when driving backwards! Now it is just a lousy carnival coaster.
I'm not sure why but when I was queuing for this ride I did not notice that loop. I was just expecting a casual small drop coaster ride. That loop caught me off guard.
favorite ride at disney for sure
Agreed! But TOT tho.. Love that one.
