Welcome to the Queen rabbit hole.... check out Save Me from this concert and anything from Wembley 1986... not to mention Live Aid. They all are multi talented and they have no particular genre, they play and sing everything.
Roger would have been good enough to be a lead singer in 90% of bands. You have to be as awesome as Freddie to compete. And not many are as great as Freddie ever! The best Frontman of all time imo. Queen simply the best live band of all time.
Yes this entire concert was excellent. Save Me, Play the game and their live performance of Bohemian Rhapsody will not disappoint. As you've already noticed us Queen fans are more than just a little passionate about these guys and we're always happy to see new fans in the making. Enjoy your journey 👑
Freddie wrote this song ... inspired by his favorite artist, Aretha Franklin... Every band member sang backup on this one during live performances.. the studio version really shows their harmonizing... I love this song and it was one of Freddie's favorites❤..
@@susanp.7954 Sorry, but he wasn’t singing during this performance at all (where’s his mic?) and in the studio version video he’s not singing either, he’s lip syncing. He did sing backup live on “Liar” with Freddie’s encouragement, but he didn’t like his voice. ✌🏼

Songs: Loveof my life, You take my breath away, Too much love, The show must go on….Roger had a solo career also, great song: Old Friends, Say it’s not true. Brian had his own version of Too much love, he wrote it, so…they both take on different meanings. Soooo many songs, can’t decide.
MY FAVORITE SONG! Hurray 🎉 Thank you 🙏🏻 Freddie penned this beauty inspired by Aretha Franklin. This was Freddie’s favorite composition!! The cups contain honey water & tea! Heineken bottle placed strategically for the sponsors!! 👉🤩👈
Well, no, it was always there whether the cameras were on the band or not. When watching them live, even from the third row as I was once, you couldn't see the label on the bottle. Nothing to do with product placement.
@@MikePhillips-pl6ov Interesting. Some viewers said it was, but either way, it was memorable. And the performance was simply one of the best of all time.
every song freddie sings on its own is a show itself, you have pop music, classical, opera, rock music, jazz, the blues, Then there is Queen its own style
Not beer guys… singers don’t drink beer while performing … can cause burping. Freddie was an impossibly fabulous genius composer singer artist… His birthday was yesterday and His fans will love him and miss him forever✌🏼💛 Queen are the GOAT!
There was a little beer there too as was said for John, but Freddie would take a sip of it in the long break for Bohemian Rhapsody (live they never tried to fake it, the middle section was a studio creation so the band would go off while the recording played and the lights and effects did the rest, then they'd come back on for the last section), and near the end of the show when the open beer had gone a little flat. And if you watch some of the interviews with Freddie, he's drinking beer. In recent years many have made him out to be this high class aloof type person who only drank champagne, and whilst he did enjoy the finer things in life, he always enjoyed some beer. Including a few sips onstage along with his honey tea.
@@twoofsix3b3g Freddie has said himself that he wouldn't drink during performing. Tea/honey only. He didn't want to burp while trying to sing. So no sips for him. Backstage breaks maybe. Also he was more of a champagne guy.
This song as performed is actually gospel. Queen transcended genres. They could and often did do just about everything under the sun. Freddie even sang with Opera singers. Freddie is often called the best front man ever with one of, if not the best, vocal ranges but Queen is one of the best bands ever too. All four of them.
@@CoachCastTVYou’d love “Let Me Live” if you like gospel. Freddie, Roger and Brian each sing a verse of the song while being backed by a gospel choir. Gives you a chance to hear each of their voices separately and together. 😊
I was going to mention this song's gospel roots. @CoachcastTV -- although their live performances are generally the best, it's absolutely worthwhile to watch the official video of this song (whether you react to it or not) for the strong gospel sound. In the studio they could do some looping and layering of voices, and although it doesn't have the vocal pyrotechnics this live performance does, the gospel choir feeling is its own kind of awesome. Freddie was a big fan of Aretha Franklin, and this song is his tribute to her.
Liked & subscribed because you said you will do more Queen! Great reaction to the best band ever& thank you for giving kudos to Roger Taylor, his ability to sing & play drums so phenomenally is second to none! In any other band he would have been the lead singer! Freddie didn’t drink beer on stage usually, he said it would be disrespectful to the audience if he burped, he normally would drink tea with honey for his voice! The beer was for the other band members & for advertising! You must do Queen’s set at Live Aid ( please!) it’s 21 mins wisely regarded as the best live performance ever, you won’t regret it I promise! Thank you again, love from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you so much for that info! We have already filmed another Queen reaction coming soon and have the Live Aid performance on our list to do. There will be lots of Queen on this channel, because we are both enjoying them and Queen fans are amazing!
This popped up in my timeline for reasons only understood by the designers of UA-cam algorithms, so I decided to rewatch it. While doing so, I was reminded of a story about this performance you might find interesting. It is a clear example of what a tight, finely-tuned performing group Queen was.. Today, most performers wear earbuds from which they receive cues and messages while performing but that wasn't the case in 1981. Queen had to rely on visual cues from each other and trust between them. But that was no problem since they had played together so often that they could read each just by looking at each other. This incident occurred when Freddie got up from the piano the second time during "Somebody To Love". As Freddie glides to the center stage, he glances over towards left stage and sees Brian's back as he head upstage to the left back corner on the stage. Apparently, Brian had a problem he needed to take care of. I don't what the problem was except I know it wasn't as just a broken guitar string. As all guitar players know, guitar strings do break and usually as the most imopportune moment. But Brian ( and John) were prepared since they always had a backup guitar tuned and ready to go. If Brian had a broken sting he would have simple switched to the backup which would take less than a minute to do and he didn't. (The backup for Brian's Red Special was not red but blond in color in 1981). Freddie knew that he couldn't continue on with the song but would have to continue to entertain the audience until Brian could return to performing. After a few minutes of enteracting with the audience, Freddie looks over his left shoulder towards Brian for a couple of beats, When he turns back toward the audience, he immediately begins the chorus of the song, "Find me somebody to love, Find me somebody to love". Brian is then seen walking up to his microphone perfectly timed to reach his microphone just in time to sing.
You can watch the whole concert from Montreal 1981 on line. I recently watched it with my son on an IMAX screen in the Montreal Forum( it's been converted to an entertainment complex). It was magical, Freddy was able to control the crowd 42 years later through that movie screen. Being projected on almost the very spot where he stood in 1981
@CoachCastTV it was pretty awesome. I was 10 in 1981 and wasn't able to go but seeing it there now with my 18 year old son was truly magical. Helps that we are both massive Queen fans.
If you want to experience Queen at their very best watch the Queen set at the Live Aid concert from 1985, this has been voted the very best rock performance of all time
I've listened to thousands of Queen songs and a fair number ov videos over 40+ years and you're right, I couldn't take my eyes off of Roger. You have to be damn good to be noticed individually while sharing a stage with Freddie. He is damn good.
Every single man from queen was a genius in their own way and just destined for what they did. We all adore Freddie, but every one of the band was amazing too on equal level.
I love watching first reactions to this song. I grew up with Queen but it wasn’t until I started watching these remastered live performances that I truly appreciated their talents 🥰 Other great songs at this concert: Save Me, Play the Game, Bohemian Rhapsody, Love of my Life…
Now that I know you're in love with Roger Taylor, please watch this same song in the Queen Official Video Studio version. Because you'll hear how the song was released with so many rich harmonies the band can't duplicate live on stage. Those Roger high vocals! Woo. Plus it's fun to see the lad, all young and everything, in what looks like their 'recording session' of this song. (It's really worth a peek)
I haven't seen mention of Sir Brian May the lead guitar. Yes he's knighted but it's because he has a doctorate in astrophysics. And indeed he has worked on projects for NASA. Great reaction. As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
Coach referenced "Sir Doctor Brian May" a few times in some other videos, including a few not posted yet but recorded and coming soon. He's a heck of a guitar player (among other things).
This is a great performance, can you believe that it is just 4 guys up there making all that amazing music! All the songs from the Montreal concert are worth hearing. Queen - an unbelievably talented group, who compose and perform in so many different styles, you will never get bored listening. And, yes, Roger Taylor's ability to hold his performance on the drums while singing is just awesome! Subscribed....
So “Watching them” back then, we didn’t get to do that much unless you saw them live. We had albums and radio. All these great songs live is awesome to see but the whole other side of Queen is what monsters they were in the studio! All the harmonies, yes even the BALLADS are just phenomenal! What you may loose from their studio work, they make up for being monsters on stage!!!!
George Michael performed this song at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert and he's for sure the second best singer in the world who sang this song, you'd like that performance too
Roger Taylor in the top ten of singing drummers. I liked Queen when I saw them on TV in 1974 for Killer Queen. I finally got to see the boys live either side of this Montreal gig, in London in 1980, and in Leeds and Milton Keynes UK 1982. They did this song on those tours, and all their other classics. They were at the peak of their live shows in 1980, 1981, and 1982. I was lucky to see them again in 1984 and though they were still amazing (a Queen gig was always top quality), I thought this era was the best. They were also officially the biggest band in the world in this brief period, on sales alone, once they got really big in the US after The Game album 1980 with the songs Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Another One Bites The Dust. Queen were special live, something about them, obviously all great musicians, with three singing voices. But it was the tightness and the chemistry. Plus they were loud! And at times heavy! They could rock out with the best of the heavy bands. But they also had all this subtlety and variation in their music. For years I was trying to get people to try out more Queen beyond the hit singles, and to go see them live, but in the 80s and on it was yeah yeah, they are old style, and history, we've heard it all. But they hadn't! Now, largely due to the movie (and reaction channels!), there's a new generation of fans who have come to appreciate them. Freddie would be amazed at how much bigger they've become over the decades since his passing. And I'm sure he would have loved it. He always said he hoped people would remember him for his music.
Great comment. Yes, we heard their songs in the 80s but at the time it wasn't music that really appealed much to either of us, so we never sought out more. Now that we are older (and perhaps wiser) we realize that this music is special, and so is this band. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Hopefully we can bring this music to more people who don't know much, or anything, about this band.
Thank you for reacting so enthusiastically to my second-favourite live Queen performance of all time. My absolute favourite being their twenty minute set for Live Aid at Wembley, in London in 1985. I have loved Queen since I saw the official video of Bohemian Rhapsody broadcast on the BBC pop music programme 'Top of the Pops' in 1975. (You really should check that out too. It's phenomenal). In case you didn't spot it, if you look back at the second time Freddie jumps up from the piano, he sees Brian May (lead guitar - now Sir Brian May PhD, the author and astrophysicist) heading to the back of the stage with a broken string, and so he extends his interaction with the crowd - and tells Roger (drums) and John (bass) to "keep it going", until he sees Brian returning. Thank you for picking up on Roger's awesome ability to continue with the epic drumming, never missing a beat, while singing his heart out. Oh, and the beer bottle is a product placement. The brown liquid in Freddie's cup is tea with lemon and honey to lubricate and soothe his throat through a concert that might last up to two hours. ♥ New subscriber, hoping to follow you down the Queen rabbit hole as you discover more of my favourite band.
Thanks for all that additional information! I did not pick up on the broken string situation. The product placement of the beer bottle clearly worked. This band is simply incredible and we're very eager to listen to more. Too bad we both have full time jobs. LOL
Freddie Mercury had such an incredible voice the world lost a true talent when he passed. I was very lucky to get to see him in concert in Boston in 1976

The beer bottle on the piano was placed for advertising purposes only. Freddie only ever drank tea with honey while performing to soothe and lubricate his throat.
Freddie can be seen drinking beer on stage sometimes, such as on Wembley. He has a plastic cup with a yellow drink with a frothy head, it's clearly beer. He drinks beer on stage here too.

Welcome to the Queen rabbit hole.... check out Save Me from this concert and anything from Wembley 1986... not to mention Live Aid. They all are multi talented and they have no particular genre, they play and sing everything.
Yeah, it does seem they do a wide variety of sounds. The talent is undeniable.
Somewhere Superman is wearing a Freddie Mercury Tshirt.
Freddie loved Aretha Franklin who sang R & B, gospel, etc. This was his attempt to honor her.
The Queen of soul!
Roger would have been good enough to be a lead singer in 90% of bands. You have to be as awesome as Freddie to compete. And not many are as great as Freddie ever!
The best Frontman of all time imo. Queen simply the best live band of all time.
The three live videos we've seen, including one not yet posted, have convinced us they put on one of the greatest shows of all time.
I think this is the best performance of a live song by Queen . Roger’s talent is amazing ❤️. Freddie is exceptional rip 😢❤️❤️
It's up there with the best we've ever seen from anyone.
Yesterday was Freddie’s birthday, and h once told some reporter this was his favorite song. 👍
Happy Belated Birthday to Freddie. Wish that guy was still around.
For all the Queen fans I think your review is very kind and full of heart. Loved it.
Thank you. Queen fans have been amazing to us so far!
@@CoachCastTV❤
Yes this entire concert was excellent. Save Me, Play the game and their live performance of Bohemian Rhapsody will not disappoint. As you've already noticed us Queen fans are more than just a little passionate about these guys and we're always happy to see new fans in the making. Enjoy your journey 👑
Yes, we'd have to say one of the most passionate fan bases in the world. Thank you!
I keep coming back to this video because of your appreciation for Roger 👏
We appreciate it. This is one we've watched several times as well. They were all on top of their game here, but agreed, Roger killed it.
Freddie wrote this song ... inspired by his favorite artist, Aretha Franklin... Every band member sang backup on this one during live performances.. the studio version really shows their harmonizing... I love this song and it was one of Freddie's favorites❤..
We can certainly understand why it was a favorite!
John didn’t sing backup on this song, or very many at all. A couple early on but he didn’t think he had a good voice and therefore rarely sang.
John did sing minimal back up on this…❤ Have a great day❤
@@susanp.7954 Sorry, but he wasn’t singing during this performance at all (where’s his mic?) and in the studio version video he’s not singing either, he’s lip syncing. He did sing backup live on “Liar” with Freddie’s encouragement, but he didn’t like his voice. ✌🏼
Sorry, again..there are several live shows where John sang minimal vocals on Somebody to love..but I do know he lip synced in the studio version…
You'll be even more shocked and amazed when you listen to another Queen live performance. It's called White Queen from The Hammersmith Odeon in 1975. Have fun! Great reaction video this one!!
Thank you, we do need to do that one for sure.
the whole band was superb roger taylor was simply amazing with his drumming and backing vocals
ONE OF THE BEST GROUPS IN THE WORLD. ALL OF THEM REAL MUSICIANS, NO AUTO-TUNE, NO LIP-SYNC, JUST PURE ARTISTS. I AGREE THE DRUMMER IS INCREDIBLE.
This is my favorite Queen song and this is the best performance of this song!!! Roger was outstanding!!!!!!
Yes, he certainly was!
Your faces from the off 😮, then. Roger does his thing and 😮😮, then Freddie and Roger come in for the finish 😮😮😮😮😮
Never too late to get into Queen, you’re in for a treat.
I think this will be a very big rabbit hole to go down. Thanks for watching!
The sponsorship worked. LOL
@@MikePhillips-pl6ov Oh wow .. thank you! 👍
every song freddie sings on its own is a show itself, you have pop music, classical, opera, rock music, jazz, the blues, Then there is Queen its own style
Freddie is absolutely amazing!
Best live performance in music history...period.
Nothing else to say.
R.I.P. Freddie, the world misses you..its less brighter without you in it😢
i saw this at the cinema, and the audience was quiet for the most part, but they clapped after this.
This was fantastic.
Not beer guys… singers don’t drink beer while performing … can cause burping. Freddie was an impossibly fabulous genius composer singer artist… His birthday was yesterday and His fans will love him and miss him forever✌🏼💛 Queen are the GOAT!
Yes, the beer bottle threw me. But good product placement.
@@MikePhillips-pl6ov Wow! Great info there.
@@twoofsix3b3g Freddie has said himself that he wouldn't drink during performing. Tea/honey only. He didn't want to burp while trying to sing. So no sips for him. Backstage breaks maybe. Also he was more of a champagne guy.
The burping can be alleviated by removing the mic far away from his mouth.
This song as performed is actually gospel. Queen transcended genres. They could and often did do just about everything under the sun. Freddie even sang with Opera singers. Freddie is often called the best front man ever with one of, if not the best, vocal ranges but Queen is one of the best bands ever too. All four of them.
"Gospel" for sure...we both loved this so much!
@@angiepen Good info. Thanks for that. We have been told the studio is quite different than the live.
@@CoachCastTV They're pretty much always different, yeah. Usually the studio isn't as good, in Queen's case, but sometimes it's just different. :)
Queen - their live performances are better than their recordings! Gives me goosebumps every time ❤️ Hope you have watched their Live Aid performance 😊
We have not, but it's on our list to watch. Thanks for commenting. They are impressive live, for sure.
Mrs Coach hits the nail on the head when she said "You cant beat them" she is absolutely right
This popped up in my timeline for reasons only understood by the designers of UA-cam algorithms, so I decided to rewatch it.
On our first watch we thought this was just how they always did it. We read in comments that this was impromptu due to some issue. That's impressive!
You can watch the whole concert from Montreal 1981 on line. I recently watched it with my son on an IMAX screen in the Montreal Forum( it's been converted to an entertainment complex).
It was magical, Freddy was able to control the crowd 42 years later through that movie screen. Being projected on almost the very spot where he stood in 1981
Very cool.
@CoachCastTV it was pretty awesome. I was 10 in 1981 and wasn't able to go but seeing it there now with my 18 year old son was truly magical. Helps that we are both massive Queen fans.
If you want to experience Queen at their very best watch the Queen set at the Live Aid concert from 1985, this has been voted the very best rock performance of all time
That is the #1 requested reaction on our channel right now, and we do plan to do it in the near future. Thanks for watching!
Really enjoyed it guys.Queen is a youtube sensation..lol a fifty year old band.Amazing Freddie, best performer in the worlds greatest rock band
They’re all very versatile, songs are versatile and of all genres, and Freddie has a 4-5 vocal range. Thebes’s.
If you want more of Roger Taylor watch him at the same concert singing I'M IN LOVE WITH MY CAR. You'll love it.
That one is on the list. Thank you!
I've listened to thousands of Queen songs and a fair number ov videos over 40+ years and you're right, I couldn't take my eyes off of Roger. You have to be damn good to be noticed individually while sharing a stage with Freddie. He is damn good.
Very well said!
Gives me GOOSEBUMPS....
EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT....WOW!!!
Every single man from queen was a genius in their own way and just destined for what they did. We all adore Freddie, but every one of the band was amazing too on equal level.
I love watching first reactions to this song. I grew up with Queen but it wasn’t until I started watching these remastered live performances that I truly appreciated their talents 🥰
Other great songs at this concert: Save Me, Play the Game, Bohemian Rhapsody, Love of my Life…
Yes, we know of Queen from our youth but never took time to really listen to them, so this is new to us, and it's impressive.
Just thought I would mention this. Freddie's touring piano, which you see here, today lives at Brian May's house.
I have watched this performance soooo many times. Totally agree that Roger stole the show. I love his performance. Mad respect.
@@CoachCastTV This was the first reaction of theirs that I have seen. I did like their comments for sure.

A masterclass from Freddie.
Yeah...this performance is stellar. Another Queen video coming tomorrow. Thanks for subscribing!
The Greatest band of All time.
They are outstanding!
Great reaction. You need to see their “ live aid “ performance. It’s a very quick 20 minutes that will flash by. You won’t regret it. 😁👍🏾
It's on the list to do. Thanks for watching!
It's GOING TO ABSOLUTELY BLOW YOUR MIND!!
QUEEN ROCKS!!!
MORE PLEASE.
New subscriber, hoping to follow you down the Queen rabbit hole as you discover more of my favourite band.
Thanks for all that additional information! I did not pick up on the broken string situation. The product placement of the beer bottle clearly worked. This band is simply incredible and we're very eager to listen to more. Too bad we both have full time jobs. LOL
You guys are so cute and love music. I saw Queen 3 times in the 70's and this was every concert
Roger has a phenomenal voice. He has a tribute song to Freddie called Old Friends, well worth listening to.
Sounds like we should do that one for sure.
@@CoachCastTV definitely.

The beer bottle threw me off, but it was good product placement, if nothing else.
Freddie can be seen drinking beer on stage sometimes, such as on Wembley. He has a plastic cup with a yellow drink with a frothy head, it's clearly beer. He drinks beer on stage here too.
Queen's Live Aid performance is considered by many to be the best live rock set ever, so it's a must see. I recommend White Queen (Live at Hammersmith Odeon) and Love of My Life (Live at Wembley). Enjoy your Queen journey, this rabbit hole goes very deep :)

Speaking of multi-tasking, the astrophysicist on lead guitar (Brian May), also has some great pipes as he and Roger Taylor (drums), carry the backing vocals.
