To new viewers: this was pre hotfix 16 whereby Cazador had a buff: His newly added Necrotic Aura (in-game known as Miasmic Mists Aura) is currently applying his Ritual Sources bonus damage to hilariously destructive effect, potentially deal 3d6 + 7d10 necrotic damage per turn while a character is standing in the aura. • The Miasmic Mists debuff also appears to be emanating from Cazador at all times once he has cast mist form, whether he is in mist form or not. As described, it should only be emanating during mist form, which is dispelled by sunlight. • These two factors combined essentially means Cazador has a passive circle of death spell emanating from him with a maximum damage cap of 88 damage per turn, in addition to the other bonuses he gains from the Ritual Sources buff. This method should still work, provided that all characters maintain initiative higher than that of Cazador before he is killed. This issue has now been fixed!
You have to start your turn outside 4m of cazzyboo to deactivate Mitsubishi eff you aura (if already caught in it).. Not hard to do when he usually goes first. Go in and hit, back out Rinse wash repeat, dead Cazzy
This boss is incredibly difficult if you dont exploit everything to your advantage, if you fight him fair and square head on he is pretty tough. i feel everyone saying he is easy just rolls the most broken builds and uses all overpowered stuff to win and then smugs on my ass all day.
Nah...if you have the smallest concept of game mechanics the whole of act 3 is a joke. Im doing a "no magic" honor mode playthrough to try and make it more fun. Still absolutely steam rolling everyone. I love the game, but the second halve is not balanced AT ALL.
@@kompatybilijny9348 do some research brother. 450 is nothing compared to what you can do with some caster builds, plus you can haste those martials to help get their numbers up 😂😂
@@kompatybilijny9348 you are building your casters wrong lol. Do some research. Try looking up fire acuity sorc, 10-1-1 bard, and 10-2 ssb for 3 off the top of my head that will smoke every martial in the game. Even just a run of the mill sorlock can hit the numbers you mention, while also hasting a martial to help get thier damage up 😂
i believe the intended way to do this fight is to stand on the rune circles to block cazador from getting buff and also you get buffs that help a little, those guys with the stink clouds really screwed me in my playthrough so having a way to stop them from disabling your key characters is important, also using sunlight seems to help a lot
Just did it my playthrough, almost got tpked twice, had to divine intervention, a few combat rezes and an invis pot angelic slumber cheese play to survive.
I want to see someone beat him after dialogue in an honor mode fight. Like if it were to just organically happen. Everyone is easy to beat if you prepare and strike first.
I walked Astarion right in there for the RP as I never had him in my party before. Like a sheep heading to slaughter, instantly sucked in for the sacrifice while party was out of position unable to do anything meaningful. It's a miracle one party member made it out alive, this fight can really catch an unprepared team off guard RIP all items on my decked out astarion monk. We didn't even get to have a funeral
I think i've done that once before. The only disadvantage with that is he cannot target the surprised enemies as effectively and it splits the team up a little bit more.
i decided to do a tactician playthrough with all the new legendary actions the bosses get and this fight was the first time i've ever had to reload my game - so ty for the video!! i ended up skipping the cutscene and spending turns to free astarion by just casting daylight so he'd run off :')
I heard that after posting his video they updated the fight so that Cazador deals some gnarly necrotic damage in mist form. Was that a deciding factor in needing to reload too?
@@neekBG3 yesss, i had lae'zel just walk in his direction and before i knew it she was almost on the floor 💀i'm glad they did that change tho, actually feels like the scary vampire lord he was meant to be!!
as someone who hasn’t played that long i noticed you don’t have a healer. is it just unnecessary late game since ur just one shotting everyone also is early game harder or is it just a lot of min maxxing? was thinking of copying some of these builds in a durge run after finishing my first honour mod run, if i don’t die at least 😂
I personally don’t play with a healer at any time. It’s mainly because I focus on raw damage and killing as fast as possible utilising surprise in nearly all of my fights. It depends on your personal play style but way is to maximise initiative (the order you take turns) with dexterity for all my characters and use strength elixirs to dump strength. That way I normally go first, and take out all the dangerous foes before they can even take a turn. You can further jump into that with Alert, but I’d only really recommend that late game as Ability score increases are far more useful early on imo. The game is unquestionably harder in Act 1, mainly because from 1-4 most classes can only attack once, thus halving your damage potential. Once you get to 5 you essentially double your damage output and the game gets easier from then.
in terms of support classes that keep ur team alive healer with the item synergies is an s tier pick, life cleric is great, i suggest also using the bless staff and dark justiciar armor (for advantage on concentration saves) sword lore bard is s tier, take helmet of arcane acuity and band of the mystic scoundrel, learn illusion and enchant spells and use them to disable large groups of enemies or make single enemies fight for you etc druid is also useful support with a unique playstyle, haven't used it enough to know but might be good any thief like bard or rogue can provide substantial support via stolen items such as potions, scrolls and arrows from act 2 onwards you should also have reasonably good defenses on all your characters, because enemies will ignore tanks and focus your squishy characters, there are various ways to become more tanky like spells, class abilities, items and strategies. if you don't want to build a well rounded team there are some builds that trivialize combat encounters

You can turn invisible and position a party member next to where Astarion gets taken to use "help" to get him down and bring him back into the fight.
Killing Cazador that's not surprised before he casts swarm is a better idea
remember to always use daylight, it stops him from going into his misty form
If you shapeshift astarion and stay in the shapeshifted form even if you break invis cazador won't pull him into the ritual.
Thank you so much. I struggled for 2 hours before this
Didn't follow exactly but it helped get me through a tough fight. Thanks!

I prefer it this way. Why engage in a fight unless you will win?

Genuinely thinking of skipping this fight! Especially with the new buff!

Awesome, can’t wait for Viconia
I hope my plan will work and it's definitely in the pipeline!
Astarion just has to fight away from the platform, draw them to the staircase, he can’t be grabbed from there

Astarion build video?
Can you explain the Astarion build's damage? 90-94. Any specific weapon combo?
this is a little late but the build is in the description
Nice work once again, I may have to skip this fight lol
Give casting daylight a try outside of his Los but in range of him he'll take dmg outside of combat might help
Could you please share your builds? Especially the astarion build, you just nuked them. I have a barn with good gear, but its not nearly as good
i remember shooting him from long range and my astarion didn't get captured
It is a great way of doing it, it just makes capitalizing on the surprise round more tricky with one person further way imo.

How are you getting so many crits?

Minmaxing the party members tbh
