    OMG! This is so real! I watched this as my hubby was performing the same "surgery" on our new stove. And y'all had the same thoughts I did...
    "Seems weird taking apart a new oven"
    "If I was smart, I would've had my headlight"
    "Let's put a piece of cardboard across the bottom...but what are the chances"
    We laughed all the way through! Thank you so much for taking the time to record and post your experience. Loved it!

    I want to thank you so so much for this video. My mom noticed the orange flames on our new stove and knew something was not right(we are new home owners), after a little googling she was able to see we needed to do the conversion. After calling around to a few propane companies and getting quotes, we quickly realized this was something we would have to do ourselves because unfortunately the quotes were out of our budget. We went to the instructions, and were immediately lost🥲 after a quick UA-cam search your video came up! You were so informative, and easy to follow! My aunts girlfriend and I were able to successfully switch everything out thanks to you, and our flames are now the correct color!! Thank you so so much again, and wifey thank you for the amazing editing😉 stay safe💛💛

    i purchased the exact same model at our local Home Depot this past Saturday (May 8 '21) to replace my old LG gas range and Watching your video made me remember that I hired a technician to make the conversion. I totally forgot about it. Where I'm from, we don't have natural gas and our only option is LP Gas. Converting the top burners looks simple... It's the idea of removing several screws, cover plates, igniters and ending up on the floor seems a bit extreme for DIY'ers to be doing. I applaud you and your wife for doing the conversion yourselves.

    Cheers for the warning at the beginning about dropping those dang screws haha. I made sure to throw a towel down and the screws luckily fell into it a half dozen times as I fumbled. Have you been tempted yet to use one of those slightly larger nat gas orifices for a btu boost on the cook top? I'm curious but scared to try. Anyway, thanks for the vid, it helped a ton.

    • @TheProjectHelpDesk
      @TheProjectHelpDesk  3 роки тому

      Thanks, glad it helped! :) Honestly, the amount of heat it puts out seems perfect as is. We think that the owners of our previous stove may have left them all installed for Nat Gas. The problem with our old stove was that Low was High and High was Nuclear! When boiling water we even would set the pot to one side of the burner because the heat would hit the handle so hard that it melted some of the harder plastic handles. So no, I have not been tempted yet to try that. If I did, however, it would probably be on the griddle one. But we don't use the griddle often and when we do then using it seemed to work fine. Thanks again for watching.

    We just bought the same stove from Lowe’s. No mention on any material on website, salesman or anything about have to do all all this. I even told salesman I had propane. Lowe’s doesn’t even have anyone that will come put and do this after talking with manager. Called Samsung and they said the only place that mentions conversion is in warranty. There should be more regulation by someone to make sure people knows about this before purchasing.

    • @TheProjectHelpDesk
      @TheProjectHelpDesk  3 роки тому

      We 100% agree! They should let people know. We assumed it was LP and wouldn't need a conversion until we started reading. The conversion information is in one of the manuals. We managed just fine with the conversion, but I do believe that the company you get your propane from could also do the conversion for you as well if you find yourself unable to do it.
      We LOVE our stove though. Only ONE complaint is that the timer is so loud and lasts until you turn it off so if you're on the toilet when the timer beeps it has to beep until you are able to get back to it., but we haven't looked through the manual to see if we could turn that down somehow or change a setting in there. However, I doubt it. Once you get it installed - it's absolutely fantastic. We even use the griddle to hold our large cooking utensils when we're cooking on the stove top.

      @@thestonehousefarm1942 No, we did not have to. In our case, when we did the flame check, our flames were the proper amount of Blue. We have not had any issues with soot or smoke. So our shutters are all in the original locations that they arrived in. I assume that they start in the high settings so that they have maximum gas flow for the igniter to prevent a gas buildup on one side of the eye. But that is a total guess. It would be nice if they started on Low instead of high though. Especially since we we do most of our cooking on the lower setting. We are actually about to upload an additional video showing the flame heights and look of our burners. Just in case that helps anyone.

    • @TheProjectHelpDesk
      @TheProjectHelpDesk  Рік тому +1

      If it is the ones I am thinking of, then I 'THINK' the answer is yes. Basically anything that is screwed together should safely come apart. And the valve parts can be seen/accessed from both top and bottom to some degree. I remember thinking, after going in from one direction, that I could have just gone the other direction easier. So I would recommending doing a lot of stare testing first but I think you can safely go from the other direction to bypass the stripped screw.

    I've a Samsung NX60A8711QN/AA gas range that I needed to add LP orifices to.. One orifice was cross threaded and v awkward to reach and wouldn't come out. The burner is beneath the drip tray and trying to get at the burner seems impossible as the tray underneath when disassembled is connected to wiring and gas line. So much for the drip tray just popping out. All this to remove a hard to reach 1/2oz orifice. Where could I even get a service manual to know how to get at the burner? Thanks.

    • @TheProjectHelpDesk
      @TheProjectHelpDesk  Рік тому

      The top burners can, yes. You can simply turn on the gas and light it with a match. The oven itself, however, cannot. It uses an electrically powered igniter to ignite the gas instead of a pilot light like they used to use. And that igniter is tied in to a gas shutoff valve. So when the power is out, so is the oven.
