This song is almost 30 years old, and still sounds present/ahead of today's music, even though Meshuggah have inspired generations of musicians since this came out. Crazy.
Im a huge fan of their older material and i disagree. The recordings stand the test of time but they have not. Whenever they try to play the older tunes it always sounds like they arent sure what tempo to play it , even in this video fredriks solo was way off the recording. They spent too long playing the way they do now that the older stuff just doesnt sound good anymore when they play it live.
@@jonschuindtzzz4745 first time i saw them was around then , touring with tool. I saw them again touring for obzen. They played transfixion at half speed and it sounded slow and shitty, but played bleed at full speed very next song. I was real disappointed
@@Destrodooomocculta Stop wining and be grateful that you even got to see them live several times. There's people who live in the parts of the world where that's not possible and would dream of seeing Meshuggah play their "shitty" version of their old songs live.
Saw them live in 1995 on the Destroy, Erase, Improve tour. They blew my mind, tightest band I had ever heard. Couple of hours after the show, I was on my way home from a pub and I ran into them randomly outside. I was drunk, they were drunk, we made cavemen noises together and then went on our way.. absolutely epic moment, cool AF :)
I discovered Meshuggah around 1998 and i was blown away by their songwriting. I remember being on a party and someone asked the DJ to play a meshuggah song. What followed was an epiphany on the dance floor! :D Fine wine ages like meshuggah! I love them! ❤️
Heartwarming final!!❤️ The fans - in their 20s to 60s - cheering the Metal Gods from Sweden!!!! Security staff clapping hands and hugging fans... And the lovely paradox - this heavy, complex metal performed and created by such humble, down to earth guys! I Fucking LOVE Them❤️
Yes, it's him. But the finger thing happened about 30 years ago (source: ua-cam.com/video/3aA9SFqqSoA/v-deo.html). Recently he took a time off and worked on and in his new studio. He came back to the band for this tour at least.
I'm still sad that Fredrik got a haircut but hey it is what it is. Feels like since Per Nilsson filled in everyone in the band is growing massive beards lol
@@unknownartist0101 a cymbal would cut someone's head clean off😂 would fit meshuggah tho, because after a concert of them you feel like losing your head
They're consistently good. Don't get the AC/DC comparison. They don't really sound the same on every album. Just name two songs that sound very similar in rythm and melody. Not shitting on you, just open for the dialogue ;)

classic destroy erase improve, the first time I heard this wonderful band was in 1998 on a shockumentary vhs

Agree… way ahead of their time..
My man Tomas drumming like a mad man for an hour, walking out in flips flops like a king.
That rug really tied the room together
They're fucking VIKINGS!
In my country we call them slip slops lol

Nice one!
I bet in a way you wish you werent drunk so you couldve appreciated the moment more
These guys seem so kind and loving. Quite a difference from the brutality of the music. It’s really astonishing.
Almost 30 yr old song and still sounds great Live

What a great band in a such a beautiful venue. Love this view from the stage side. Meshuggah is the only new thing in music since metal.
🙄
The dude on the right really knows how to play that speaker cab.
Hope one of these concerts will be made available on bluray.

Maaan, gotta love "Seeds of Memory" in the background at the end!!
They seem like super chill dudes, and Tomas just walking around in flip-flops after making the drums his bitch, classic.
Fucking brutal, beautiful show. I was in the centre of the pit in Glasgow, never been happier! Cheers for the upload
Yep. Same in Bristol!
Love this vid mate, I’m in the grey hat at the front, managed to catch a drumstick aswell, great upload 🤘
I got a stick at Bristol!!
Greatest band of all time.
Great upload with a novel view. Thanks. They put on an awesome show in Bristol too
They wont forget ever forget this night
Yeah that 2nd solo made my week ngl
MESHUGGAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
brilliant footage! was such an amazing show.
Meshuggah rules!!!🤘🤘🤘
Beautiful
thank you for this
Is that Fredrik?? A friend told me he accidentally cut off some fingers while woodworking. So glad to see him back on his element
Yes, it's him. But the finger thing happened about 30 years ago (source: ua-cam.com/video/3aA9SFqqSoA/v-deo.html). Recently he took a time off and worked on and in his new studio. He came back to the band for this tour at least.
They used that same Terry Reid song after the show when I saw them in 2008
I was there, insane show!
Awesome footage dude!
Jens Kidman with the badass beard 🔥🔥
I'm still sad that Fredrik got a haircut but hey it is what it is. Feels like since Per Nilsson filled in everyone in the band is growing massive beards lol
Consistency is KEY!
one breakdown to rule them all
Fredrik Thordendal - COOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL !!!!!!!
Meshuggah
snare skin I think
Damn, that keyboard player is crushing it!!!!
NICE!
Just raw brutality, love it.
a lot of effort goes into writing and rehearsing the intricate arrangements - yet it sounds raw and brutal. They're a phenomenal band.
Thomas in flip flops :D
Yeah,he plays on socks,so he has flip flops on the side to walk off stage
Goats
3:23 somebody tell that dude that the song is over
I bet he and his two drunk friends are still there jammin.
@@svengah Legends!
Nah man, he's feeling it
where is Frederik?
If your question is serious: He's the guitarist in front. He cut his hair and grew a Santa beard.
Any chance for a side view of abysmal eye or broken cog?
Sorry, that's the only "real" side view shot I made. I will upload Broken Cog as well from the same perspective like the other videos.
In the meanwhile I uploaded a TAE snippet taken from my seat and a Demiurge side view snippet.
Shouldn't you at least wear a tie at the Royal Albert Hall?
I love Tomas' stage flip flops :D
is that fredrik on the guitar? did he cut his hair?
wait soo...? is that fredrick?? i cant tell
Yes!
what was the song playing when they had their picture taken?
Terry Reid - Seed Of Memory
Sad to see fredriks hair gone. He doesnt even look the same anymore
Get over it ;)
Good voice for 56 yo!
It's more than good 😉
It’s better than ever in my opinion
killer video mate!
tomas threw the bloody cymbal?!?
Noo.... that would have been way to dangerous... It is a drumhead. :) Look how nice it flows in the air.

who is the short hair guitar?

Lástima ese tipo ahí metido moviendose estúpidamente
You can see it they are tired
They're just mature and sound better than ever :) But yes, they don't have the energy of 20 year olds.
The AC /DC of metal you get the same album each time now that's groundbreaking
Yeah. Koloss is one of my favourite album thou but it’s the AC/DC of extreme metal.

Hahahaha what a idiotic statement
So negative
Very Shallow Listening
Hmm not my music for sure. Cant hear melodys and voice
