It's pretty much used only in small sailboat racing to preserve momentum through a tack, and that guy looks like he could have purposely thrown his weight to try and roll, but he was slow to switch sides to even out the tip when he was through the turn, so the boat continued rolling until it capsized. I have a laser myself but have only "roll tacked" while racing or practicing for racing on an FJ (Flying Jane) which is a 2 person racing boat a bit wider and more stable than the single person Lasers. 3) It's hard to tell where the wind is coming from in the video, but it actually looks like it's coming from behind him, in which case the turn was actually a jibe (turn downwind) which is a much quicker and violent turn than a tack, in which case if he tried a "roll jibe" where you again roll the boat then jump to the other side to slam it flat, a jibe is far easier to capsize in even in light winds, and you never want to roll during a jibe, in which case we loop back to Scenario 1: he is just a plain idiot. My husband and I used to tow our ski boat to various lakes. We would spend day after day having family fun in the sun. And on every single one of those days, we witnessed more boating stupidity happening around us than should have been possible. I think part of the problem is that there are no required boating equivalents for driver training or licenses. There are coast guard boating courses and certificates, but most boaters skip those. All it takes for anyone to pilot a pleasure boat is a boat and a body of water. Since many people indulged in boozing while boating, crazy crashes happened all the time. And it isn’t just the person behind the wheel who causes problems. The passengers are just as careless. Once we witnessed an overloaded ski boat surge past us. In the boat’s back seat, an obese woman was cradling an infant in the crook of her arm, with that arm resting on the open edge of the gunwale. If the speeding boat had slammed into another boat’s wake, that infant would have gone flying. Makes me cringe just to remember that. To top off all this stupidity, there rarely are any law enforcement boats on hand to patrol the waterways.
Lol what? You don’t need a license to drive a boat in some places? It’s illegal to boat without one in Canada. Not requiring one is just begging for accidents.
I am sure that piloting those huge ships requires a special license, but by watching the ships in this video destroying dock after dock, evidently the license must be easy to get with no training required.
Way back when I worked in fast food (lol), a lady I worked with, her husband had "just gotten his license back" after DUIs and other assorted trailer trash/rez trash shenanigans; weekend plans, head out to the lake with the boat and beer. Irony is lost on a lot of people apparently.
@@RideAcrossTheRiver, how many times has he, as a husband, left her alone, and not given her the love that he moronically gives to fish? There’s likely a history of his attitude not being one of a married man. Why would he marry her, then neglect her by being alone all the time? Surely there is something he could do instead that they could do together… but no, he chose fish instead. Life is not about self-fulfillment, but about self-sacrifice, that is the goal.
Undoubtedly many of these incidents involve alcohol. Boating is seen as time to party by many instead of the dangers it presents. Drunk people, spinning propellers, drownings, etc. not to mention so so many do not know how to drive a boat. They assume it is like a car. Driving a boat slowly, avoiding obstacles, docking without damage, and trailering a boat is even difficult when sober. Be safe out there.
And the added bonus is you get to haul the boat back *up* the ramp later, with wet tires. Backing a trailer, just hold the bottom of the steering wheel and turn it the direction you want the trailer to go, but your hand should move no more than two inches, and your foot never touches gas pedal nor leaves brake. Don't be prideful and try to salvage a bad approach. Its embarrassing to be laughed at for having to try two or three times, but its more embarassing to have to get a tow truck to haul your new submarine out and *still* have failed to launch the boat.

5:37 - Steering as if that wheel is going to do anything much on land
they’re reflexes
It baffles me how a phone and a couple of meters of separation let the people laugh instead of being concerned about others safety.
“It’s go me, it’s got me, it’s got me, it’s got me, it’s got me, it’s got me”..
Gotta love that fish letting the fishermen know he fecked with the wrong fish🤣🤣
7:38 That Guy could be Hurt very Bad,with the pole falling on Him!
His right leg was fractured at least.
His back is probably broken too. Don't envy that guy at all.
He's probably died from the injuries. I would bet a lot of money
😮😮😮
@@pedromorett How much? $10K? $100K?
11:32 This guy: "A multiple tons heavy boat is about to fall of the trailer...i must try to stop it with my arms"
Physics: hold my beer
Clearly he did not start the day with the right breakfast cereal.
hold my beer
LOL boats came out of nowhere😂😂😂 0:01
17:54 the issue here is that the idiots put no type of ballast inside. If you want your ship to stay upright, you need ballast to help out the center of gravity.
14:50 😂😂 the guy recording made me laugh 😂
The 2 guys in the pool in the boat. Holy shit that was great.
He was definitely in the dog house the next day though 😅
How much of that does he actually remember without the help of the video, lol
how much of that does he actually rember without the help of the video, lol
7:35 Poor guy received that entire pole on his head. Hope he is fine.
Looked real young too. Probably a family business and it's his first job. Guy was smiling wide and definitely not aware of the potential dangers. Quick lesson for the young guy for sure. Hope he's alright.
He was most certainly not OK!
not just any pole, thats the dry exhaust system for that boat, so it was likely quite hot too.
I like that man at 11:40 trying to stop the boat from tipping like you leaning on it is gonna stop a 30000 pins boat from falling over 😂
People are dumb.
These 'foolish' antics really have me laughing until I cry!
the number of people that think they can stop a downhill run away trailer is astounding...let it go!
12:30 Still a better love story than Twilight
Fr
4:23 Was the worst. Absolutely terrible accident. Hopefully they weren't ruined after this horrific crash
What I've always loved is being on the dock watching first-time boaters the ones that think they have it all under control.
Or they are just scared but try anyway
Dude acting like he been bit by JAWS or sumthn🦈Id bite too with all that noise😭😂 bunch of these fools must B trying win a Darwan award 🧬🚫
9:00 Beautiful boat. Anybody know the name?
I know...some people are so unbelievably thick, its a wonder they can find their own front doors....
Yes Ontario you need to take a course first. The licence is for life but at least you've done minimum training
Way back when I worked in fast food (lol), a lady I worked with, her husband had "just gotten his license back" after DUIs and other assorted trailer trash/rez trash shenanigans; weekend plans, head out to the lake with the boat and beer.
Irony is lost on a lot of people apparently.
Bro really tried to loophole the wife with the dock 😂😂😂 hes so divorced lmaooo
A wife who won't let you go fishing?
@@RideAcrossTheRiver, how many times has he, as a husband, left her alone, and not given her the love that he moronically gives to fish? There’s likely a history of his attitude not being one of a married man. Why would he marry her, then neglect her by being alone all the time? Surely there is something he could do instead that they could do together… but no, he chose fish instead.
Life is not about self-fulfillment, but about self-sacrifice, that is the goal.
@@games1004 Nah. Fishing is better.
That dude get bitten by a shark? That’s awesome 😂
Sharks not going down without taking one of them with him!
"Kill or be killed". 😎 I like that shark.
Not sure if they were trying to cut the sharks head off or amputating his leg!
@8:23 Wearing black socks and black shoes while wearing shorts tells you everything that you need to know about this guy's ability.
actually. I thought he was a legend. put his new toy safety before his body :)
Oh no the colour coordination police are here...
what the fuck did I just read
Fail army never fail to entertain us ❤️

An American video where they don't say "Oh my god" until 31 seconds in. A new record
Oh there are plenty more. Oh my god is "alluh akbar" for fat people.
Legend has it that Brian still doesn't know his boat is in the street.
Good to see that shark get in one last act of defiance.
My husband always says backing down a boat ramp is like pushing a wet noodle. 🤣
It's like trying to pick a lock with a wet herring.
That's what He said!

1:40 "Fisherman" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've just retired at 78, and never realized boating was so exciting. I must get me a boat.
8:00 looking at the sides of the black ship this must be a regular deal for him.
Your videos have become a weekly tradition for me. Keep making us laugh!
1:25 smh people getting mad when sharks do shark things
this is a joke right?
5:40 now I need to see a whole compilation video with first-person view like this!
18:30 I will go to hell for the amount of times I rewatched this and laughed out louder than ever 😂😂😂😂
on top of the calm "sorry sorry sorry" i dont blame you lmao
Glad the fisherman got his....karma
A ship fire on a Carnival ship is a terror that I hope I never have to encounter. You'd be lucky to even get a refund.
Yup.. I was on a ferry from Finland to Sweden when it caught on fire, but luckily the crew got it under control.. another ferry was stuck on the rocks between Åland and mainland Finland.. 😅 But, I'm an archipelago girl.. it was scary af, but not scary enough.. 😅
9:34 That mans life just fell apart.
From the looks of the scraping scars on the sides of these two boats, it appears this wasn't their first joust match!
Yeah, that's kinda sus.
Brian has more patience than me, or maybe it was just the cop sitting there
Oh , these people are great. I still wonder how often alcohol plays a role in any size boat mishap. I guess I’m skeptical since the Exon Valdez accident?
It's a good point! Do you think stricter regulations or more education could help prevent these mishaps, especially when alcohol might be involved?
It's very noticeable how in the majority of the large vessel incidents, there is no bowman.
My fav was @13:44, wondered why they kept filming after the boat passed by until I saw the guy swimming after it!
Agreed. Nice set up & punch line.
(0:59) Fantastic strap down job on the boat but you got to remember to tighten those lug nuts and check those wheel bearings.
So glad to see the shark get revenge. Only wish they had let him go but I know those idiots didn’t. 1:40.
*As much as I hate government I think boat licenses could be needed in same of the more over crowed boating areas. I have been hit by drunks too many times! The only problem with government is they do not know when to quit once they had a new revenue stream.*
6:00 Running from the police while towing a boat is crazy
Lol... ikr 😂😂😂
runnig from the poilce while towing a boat is crazy
The terrifying part is when the boat fell over in the water then still funny because the recorder was screaming saying WOOOOO🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The houseboat sinking was heartbreaking 😢
These people are on every lake now . I liked it better when they couldn’t afford boats .
A brilliant collection of idiots, bad luck, adverse weather/sea conditions and anything else possible! 11/10 👌
5:35 I love how he tries to drive it back to the water! 😂
17:42 I thought the age of flying boats was over.
