You forgotted Stilzkin in Alexandria, he is at a castle and you find out that the purple Moogle is using an item to make his coat shiny and it's the same item used to fix the machines that keep Moogles delivering letters. The card game is so hard in ff9, so many random numbers involved that sometimes you feel there isn't too much strategy to it. A save before is a very good idea! Beating the monster in the shop is also awesome as it will get you excellent items!
There is also a trick for the auction house. To get the best prices wait until the item is just about to be sold and a bid for 100 gil more and you autowin the item. I hope you're well
I loved how you got so excited for the romance parts with the letter! Such a great scene, especially after the backdrop of Zidane's depression. i can't wait to see your reactions to other parts of the game

Okey this is the highlight of the stream for me! You are the perfect person for this whole letter situation, kinda like Eiko you have a deep understanding of where every character was emotionally. The smile when Steiner was handling Baku with some tact, everything. Great episode!
A quick consideration about remakes, we would gain something and lose something. With a 3rd person camera or cinematic camera the letter scene wouldnt be the same, the way its framed like a stage in a play with us (and the others characters!) as the audience. FF9 + Moguri Mod its perfect on its own right imo.
This game has been so amazing, I've had so much fun! It's already perfect as it is with the moguri mod. I wouldn't be bummed out if there wasn't a remake, since it's already soooo good!
Yeah, the letter scene would be difficult to handle in a remake, I dunno how they'd make it as it already is.
In this video you start to see how Steiner has changed a bit. I just love how this game actually does this in a believable manner with so many of the characters.
Not sure if it was in the Ultimania, but at some point there was a bit of background information about Steiner being the person that trained Beatrix in her early days in the military, and she became stronger than him quick. So they have a longer history, which I think is kinda nice. Tension and rivalry I guess.
Agreed! The character development isn't rushed, and it's believable. They don't do a 180 and change.
The song playing at the beginning here, I think it's like two songs at once. Both Eiko's Theme and Dagger's theme (a variant of Melodies of Life). I noticed they were both playing at the same time in the last portion of previous video too.

Steiner&Beatrix are my favorite ship in this game. Can't even say why, but I always loved them.
Also i hope you took the opportunity to visit Vivi in his grandpa's cave. Sadly there is not a big time frame to go there and a lot of people miss it because of that.
Also I will look up for you playing Nier. Loved it but it's been so long for me that I basically forgot most of it by now. So it will be nice to revisit the story together with you. Never played Automata so far. Mostly because it felt way different. Still a great game as far as I know.

This part is actually so well written. It's like this whole part of the game is intentionally designed to be a change of pace after the life tree fight. A chance for everything that's happened so far to sink in and not get too overwhelming at once. And a chance to recuperate before what's to come...
I love those kinds of breaks 😸

Ah that was fun. Started playing this game again. It's easy to forget how interesting all the characters are, feels like an underrated entry into the final fantasy series. I was looking forward to seeing your reaction to the love letter fiasco. Baku reminds me a little of the main character in Porco Rosso. He's such an interestingly designed character. Do you think Beatrix had feelings for Steiner before or after the letter?
