  • Local antique store score! Apparently it was there on consignment and belonged to John Nelson (Eddie Money guitarist). The wrap is called Peacock Pearl. The lugs are very similar to vintage Sonor lugs. Both the lugs and the wrap are probably my favorites of any I've ever seen.
    Sizes:
8"x12" (not played in the video)
    9"x13"
    16"x16"
    14"x20"
Snare used is a Gretsch 4160.
    Heads:
    Toms: Coated G1 / Reso7
Kick: Frosted EQ4 / Coated G1 w/felt strip. Nothing inside the drum.
Shells are 6-ply 9mm Luan (Asian mahogany).
These drums scream Tama. The shells are identical in construction to the later Superstar shells, just a different wood and different edge profile. Same cross lamination, diagonal ply seams, ply thickness, shell thickness, etc. Clearly made by the same people. The mufflers that came with the toms are exactly the same ones that would be used on the Imperialstar line about 10 years later.
