I've spent the better part of this year getting into Digimon v-pets, and have absolutely fallen in love with them. They're wonderful little objects and a lot easier to care for than I ever expected (although the freeze option certainly helps, lol). I've got two right now, a Digital Monster X and a Pendulum Z II, but Pandoramon's box has been opened; I've already got pre-orders for a Pendulum Color and Monster Hunter Color, and my ultimate goal is to get one of the "Big Sprite" v-pets, ideally an Accel.
I use to have a Digivice back in the 90s as a kid and loved them. I recently bought a X Black and again and am in love with it! Especially since it has adventure mode.
A friend has had their silver X for a couple months and I have my gold X for a month. Loving it and, aside from them beong the X-antibody forms, have been familiar/favorite digimon.
@LostinTranslationmon damn, that makes ME happy. While I have your ear I'd also like yo say listening to your opinion on frontier was very cathartic, I feel like the weirdness of that show is never addressed anywhere. And also I'm very envious of your digivice collection

Im currently raising Chopper on My One Piece Tamagotchi Nano and also deciding what digimon to raise on my Clear Purple Digimon X that has the wrong roster on it cause I just got a sparkly egg! Legitimately your videos got me into a love with Digimon I never thought I'd have. Keep up the great work!
Yeah, for those of you who are looking to get an X, the silver and gold Xs have a switched roster stateside, so be careful! I say this as a guy who got purple for impmon only to learn I got the wrong digivice
The Digmon Mini is so much better than Tamagotchi Mini. It's almost a 1:1 gameplay on a smaller scale unlike the Tamagotchi version. And the iC is probably the closest of a Tamagotchi Connection gameplay with a Digimon formula (though the Twin is close too, but iC is easier to get)

Strange how some fans consider the VB family of devices to not be pets. Pets need fed or they die. The VB mons just so happen to eat your vitals instead of little meat icons. It’s pretty much the same gameplay loop in my mind. Great video! Loved every minute of it. Love the lore!

im wondering if they're going to release colored devices from now on, since i have 2 DMC in the mail and im not sure if makes sense to wait for pendulum Color to drop or get a couple of pendulum Z instead...also thinking about this since colored devices are only compatible among them (i already have 3 DM20th and 3 DMX)

@@Ultrasonicomegai know this comment is a little old, but in the V-Tamer manga, Digimon don’t automatically revert forms after battle like in the anime ^^ Once digivolved, they stay in their stronger form. We never actually see Taichi’s Veedramon Zero in Rookie form, just as Veedramon and higher stages
Losing my mind over the thumbnail, it makes it seem like in all of 25 years, nothing has changed in Digimon virtual pets except it now being in color 😂
Yep it just sucks, Bandai only care about selling this device, not about its content, they separate digimon roster on different version/color of the device so we have to buy more than 1 device if you want to have all of the digimon, its just seems weird and low effort for a cashgrab I know that a lot of people still enjoy it, and i wont deny that, but imho digimon fans should be treated better
@@skyh3r0esthat's the problem with niche fanbases like this, companies know we'll basically eat up whatever they put out to "support the franchise," so that almost gives them free reign to be as lazy with releases as they want to be unfortunately
@@skyh3r0es Pokemon does the same so i think it's a normal form of cash grabbing. The difference is you can actually play with all your digidevices all at once, wich is nice
Hi, I'm new to your channel and I was surprised by your love for the Digimon series. I started watching the anime recently, even though I've known it since I was young, but I loved watching it as an adult xD . About two days ago, they released a new collaboration between Digimon and Monster Hunter, and since I'm a fan of both series, I bought both devices, the Rathlos and Zinogre versions. I also found a version with a color screen called "Digivice DX" and it comes in two colors, blue and orange. I thought about buying one of them as well. I have a question, how do I evolve Digimon? Do you have a playlist where you explain everything related to evolution? And is there a website that has all the information about Digimon? Explanations or information about these Digivices? Thank you and sorry for my long message ❤❤
Depends on the toy, in terms of the Digivice, you unlock evolutions as you proceed through the story and defeat bosses. Wikimon and Digitama Hatchery have evolution requirements for the virtual pets,
great video, very interesting to see all these different devices.. i dont think we had these in the netherlands at all.. we only had the tamagotchi and perhaps ocasionally the digimon egg shapes ones.. edit; there is a shop called nedgame now that sells the new digimon x-pets but this shop was not there yet when i was a kid
So is this the reason why we never had a set timeline with digimon anime? Because they had to make a story, involving these tamagotchi/pendulums/digivices.
I loved the video, I feel like wanting to get a v-pet ver.20, but then I remember that I suck too much at those, as a kid I broke 2 of them out of rage and boredom, I know its taking care of them but I sucks so much theres no pause or anything similar to just not give a fuck when busy.
i would have loved it more if there was more footage of what the gameplay looked like, not just devices, and what the differences in gameplay were between the versions

I call it both because it's known as both, the original English releases just called it as 'Digimon', but the colour version is the Digital Monster Color as it has no 'English' release. As far as I recall, at least in Australia, it wasn't called the Digital Monster (even with the modern releases from what I've seen, which have even been officially called the 'Digimon 20th anniversary Digivice Device ' in some official listings. Since this is an English language video, I was using English terms mostly, but I will call the DM20 a Digivice over my cold dead body lol.
Im very disappointed with vpet color and vital bracelet BE both lacking backwards compatibility, not a good look for the future of digimon electronic products
I don't mind the BE not being able to connect to Digimon vpets since it's very different, and you can at least run older DIMs on it. The Color not being backwards compatible was a weird choice since it still has the two prongs.

@kylefreeburg9353 they fixed the rosters now though! They were swapped for a bit but now theyre all correct!

Nice video, just one note , for the X2 ENG re-release they just opted to swap the boxes , nothing inside the device or the board was touched.
