I don't know how things work in the States, but the years get stacked, right? You do stuff with a minor 50 times and you are looking at 250 years. Or am I wrong? I read about a guy who got 1000 years on his ass.
Moved a log... When I was 16, my family rented a cottage on the beach. The next cottage along had a family staying. One day, the father of that family was busy digging at a drift log. I watched him from our porch for 20 minutes. Then I walked down, picked up the log, and said "where do you want it?" When he got his voice back, he wanted the log in the water so it would float away. I decide that was a hazard to navigation, so I broke it across my knee into four parts, and stacked these by the garbage. It was removed by the garbage removal folks the next day. If he had his way he'd have endangered the pleasure boats in the lake. Hmm... Moved alog...
This is one of the stupidest things that I've ever seen in my life. Stopping kids from selling lemonaid and criminalising people for studying a religion in their own homes. "Land of the free", right?
“Ey, what are ya in for?” “I was in a fit of rage... I killed my boss and rampaged around the office, injuring five and killing another two. You, what are you in for?” “I had a tree in my backyard.”
It's a bit more complicated than presented here. The case was about importing $15M of lobsters that were illegal to harvest in Honduras because they were undersized. The box versus bag only was an indicator that they have been inspected in Honduras, which they weren't. The government showed a pattern where the defendants knowingly circumvented the Lacey Act, which made it illegal for US citizens to violate foreign fishing laws. Schoenwetter apparently knew he was violating the law and used various methods to conceal this. After the conviction, Honduras reinterpreted their law and filed an amicus in the appeal, but the appeal court majority upheld the conviction, apparently feeling there was _mens rea_. www.eenews.net/stories/1059964426
The guy who sold lobsters in plastic bags instead of boxes lost everything: his life savings, his business, his marriage and his sons; and the last couple lost their life savings, their business and their home. This is truly heart-wrenching and sickening, the government is out of control.

I was an addict many years ago, and I can affirm through experience that kids will sell drugs because they make better money than selling lemonade or whatever, and frankly would be safer working with the black market. And they're regularly trying to get money for rent, or food, or to pay parking tickets that if not paid will end with someone behind bars.
Back when I was about 6 and sold lemonade as a kid a cop pulled up and he said someone reported us. The cop bought a 25 cent lemonade and tipped us 10 bucks what an absolute bro.

Because that's not the real story. You can look up the court case online. He owned and operated a fishing fleet in Honduras for years, and amongst other minor issues (like the boxes) was breaking three notable Honduran laws designed to protect their fisheries. Specifically they were catching undersized lobsters, catching egg-bearing lobsters, and failing to report their catch numbers and have their catch physically examined by Honduran authorities.
In Brazil, my country, this issue is way worse than it is in USA. No one can sell anything in front of your own house or on streets. It's a shame that there are people without a job and the only way to gain some money is selling homemade food and the government take away the only opportunity you have to be a honest person.

When laws are created, they must be carefully considered. They have to be firmly created evenly enforced. You don't want unknown ingredients that could be dangerous put into foods and drinks? Bet those lemonade glasses didn't have listed ingredients and nutritional information. Want to ensure all food handling is done in a safe manner? Did the kids complete food handling safety courses to ensure all dishes were properly washed, dried, and sanitized? Where do you draw the line? Now kids can't sell lemonade without complying with federal, state and local regulations, permits, inspections, etc. Did the lemonade stand have the required number of public bathrooms and handicapped accessibility? Should they? You decide. And figure out how to make it as fair as possible to everyone. So this is why it is SO IMPORTANT TO VOTE FOR RESPONSIBLE, INTELLIGENT LAWMAKERS AND REPRESENTATIVES.
There was a period in Medieval England where laws became so stringent and numerous that it actually undermined social cohesion and turned people into criminals/bandits. As an honest man could not get through his day with out breaking some law or local ordnance which drove them further in poverty. In the end legal system broke down as people stopped adhering to it and the government lost control. History has a nasty habit of repeating itself.
@@user-ez9is7lb9p I don't have one for England, but if you want something similar, look up the German Peasants War of 1524. Imperial Laws made it essentially illegal for peasants to do things like hunt, fish, log for wood, etc. On top of that, it was illegal to get married without a noble's permission, and when a serf died, their 'lord' got the first pick of his estate. All of this coupled with extreme taxation, Imperial Knights (their right to fight honor wars had been overruled, so they turned on their peasants to make up for lost income), and the start of 'radical' Protestantism preaching for emancipation lead to one of Germany's bloodier wars.
The police force in London just recently admitted that they have entirely lost control of London streets, and are powerless to enforce much of anything. Man, this just reminds me of the time when I wanted to set up a lemonade stand as a kid, and my mom even bought me a special lemonade booth at Toy's R Us, and I wanted to actually get out there and sell lemonade, because I'd seen kids do it on tv, and it sounded like a fun way to make a bit of money! But then I found out you needed a permit to open up a lemonade stand, and that just killed all my enthusiasm and energy for the idea. How was I, a child, going to get a permit just to set up a lemonade stand? Ask my mom? She barely wanted to be involved with it in the first place! I still held a lemonade stand, (after all, my mom still bought the stand) it was just outside my house, but I was hoping to do it in a place more public, like in a park, or near a store and meet more people, maybe get a bit more money. The only customer who came by and bought something was my best friend's grandma. Ngl, I was very disappointed that day.

Well, lets say that frozen lobsters being packaged in bags has a health risk, and the guy has been warned before but decided that boxes were either too expensive to care about it or even worse, thought the health risk itself was a bullshit reason. I mean, as far as I can hear is that he did it for 13 years. The tip was anonymous and it actually broke the first Honduran Fishing Law. Where fish is to be packaged in cardboard boxes. The FDA has nothing to do about that. Since law enforcement took an oath to enforce the law, EVEN IF THEY DISAGREE WITH IT, they must act upon it. You know how he could have gotten out of it? By asking for some time to go to court in Honduras and get an official document proclaiming that he could package lobsters with plastic bags. Would have saved him everything, as not even the supreme court is to ignore laws. The Lacey act has existed since 1900 and states you cant break the law in pretty much any country if it involves wildlife, the only exception being an officially approved document that is signed by the national lawyer and approved by the attorney general. The attorney general approved it, all he had to do is read the lacey act and go to honduras to get an official document written and signed by a lawyer, maybe even getting a permanent, individual permit or even get honduras to change the law entirely. But no, instead of taking that option, he tried going further in american court, like the american court has any say about honduran laws, and wasted of his life in prison. Breaking the Lacey act leads to 8-10 year in prison, the AG approval got the court to reduce it to 6. Seriously, people, if you need to go to court for breaking a law on international matters, use both countries. American law doesnt go above the laws of another country. There is only so much a judge can do without losing his or her job, and a judge will always choose to keep their job rather than risking it for a guy or girl that sticks to their gut and doesnt read into the law to prevent their case. Blaming american laws for a stupid honduran law is ridiculous.

Putting lobsters in plastic bags and not cardboard boxes? And how much did it cost to have him incarcerated for 6 years? Prisons aren't cheap to build, guard and keep staffed, and this is all money spent to protect the people, God forbid if he had kept running his business like that as he had done for years and years beforehand.

“I had a tree in my backyard.”
6 years in prison for that? Wow.

"They may conclude too hastily that nature has formed man insusceptible of any other government but that of force, a conclusion not founded in truth, nor experience. Societies exist under three forms sufficiently distinguishable. 1. Without government, as among our Indians. 2. Under governments wherein the will of every one has a just influence, as is the case in England in a slight degree, and in our states in a great one. 3. Under governments of force: as is the case in all other monarchies and in most of the other republics. To have an idea of the curse of existence under these last, they must be seen. It is a government of wolves over sheep. It is a problem, not clear in my mind, that the 1st. condition is not the best. But I believe it to be inconsistent with any great degree of population. The second state has a great deal of good in it. The mass of mankind under that enjoys a precious degree of liberty and happiness. It has it’s evils too: the principal of which is the turbulence to which it is subject. But weigh this against the oppressions of monarchy, and it becomes nothing. Malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem. Even this evil is productive of good. It prevents the degeneracy of government, and nourishes a general attention to the public affairs. I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. Unsuccesful rebellions indeed generally establish the incroachments on the rights of the people which have produced them. An observation of this truth should render honest republican governors so mild in their punishment of rebellions, as not to discourage them too much. J D So all trucks, construction equipment, agricultural machines etc have to be parked on public roads too then?
SportSoulLife regular trucks are allowed aslong as they don’t advertise company’s and construction equipment/ commercial vehicles have to be either kept on the construction site or in a licensed storage area. Public streets, drive ways, and yards arnt allowed
J D Id really like to see that law as there surely is a loophole one could exploit
And people ask me why I hate the government and the ones who enforce these arbitrary laws. The system is designed to keep you down not prop you up
When laws are created, they must be carefully considered.
I hope so
@@user-ez9is7lb9p I don't have one for England, but if you want something similar, look up the German Peasants War of 1524.

This video was very valuable for me. Now I understand even more how important it is to do what you know is right regardless of what’s going on because you can easily be thrown in jail for nothing so may as well live your life to the fullest.
The man and woman who lived on the "wetland," how is it legal what happened after the jury found they did nothing wrong? How could the Army Corps of Engineers and EPA disregard the jury based on their "feelings?" And how can they get away with fining them $38,000 a day when the 8th Amendment protects us from excess fines? I never truly understood why people wanted very small and limited government but after watching this, we need as little government as possible.
Rather have kids selling lemonade in the sunshine than drugs in the dark... lmao ridiculous
Lol
Why? Street smarts can open some doors...
Nope if both are illegal, rather have the drugs because it makes more money.
so true
Lemonade is obviously a gateway to meth.
Keep going President Trump; rip up those goofy regulations.
Amen! That's what can happen when an entrepreneur and real estate tycoon is president, not a f---ing career politician who's in everybody's pockets.
@minecraft creeper: #walkaway
All of you boomers are delusional lol Trump is a fucking crook just like the rest of them. Ron Paul was the only real chance America had at returning to what it was always ment to be
@@jerimiahstephens8580 wow. never saw a crook give away hundreds of thousands of dollars. why would a crook say "im donating my entire paycheck for 4 years"
He is a tyrant
It is not the governments job to say what tree is allowed. Most Trees are older than than most people
So for this lobster guy, the government spent roughly $5,000,000 of taxpayers money, money that should be improving the local area or funding resources we need, and they spent all of that to send a guy to jail for 5 years for what? Putting lobsters in plastic bags and not cardboard boxes? And how much did it cost to have him incarcerated for 6 years? Prisons aren't cheap to build, guard and keep staffed, and this is all money spent to protect the people, God forbid if he had kept running his business like that as he had done for years and years beforehand.
Captain Capellini it was 6 years of jail time, totally worth it
Im pretty sure there is a good explanation on why the government didnt allow him to use plastic bags but the jail time is completely unjustified
Captain Capellini
Lobsters are suppose to breath, putting them in plastic bags suffocates them
That's not what happened. The full case is much more complicated. That guy had imported 15 million dollars of undersized, illegal lobsters, and that's what he got the times for. This show is EXTREMELY one sided, so if you hear something on it that sounds completely ridiculous to you, do a bit more research to find out the details
Why would the Lobsters be illegal in the first place???? Why does government get to say if a Lobster is legal or not????
"What crime did jack and jill commit?"
They went up the hill?
My god arrest them
Kill em' to enjoy the silence 😂
These "bureaucrats" should be subjected to mob justice. It would be necessary for only a few to taste the bitter fruit of their zealotry for the rest to quickly rediscover common sense.
Horrific that man went to jail over the lobsters. The fact he went for 6 years, and that lady who stole $5B only got 10… absurd.
“Yea chief I had no other choice he wouldn’t shut down his lemonade stand lethal force was necessary.”
Sheriff: We dont know what's in the lemonade.
Me: Lemons and water.
And sugar
I would make the sheriff's lemonade extra special. What a bunch dbags?
Police chief.

Sheriff: We don't know whats in the white powdery packages.
You: flour.
You thinking: Officers: *Understandable have a great day*
🤦
