    In the fun and informal interview, we've got Tom and Magnus tackling all sorts of questions related to both running a big UA-cam channel and also his own personal climbing and training. What many people don't appreciate, is that Magnus effectively runs a full-time job (or more!) whilst also being a high-level climber, so his story is a lot more relevant to the rest of us than we often realise!

    Magnus videos literally got me climbing.
    Saw him on juji. Was amazed at his talent and just how genuine of a person he is.
    Now Ive climb 2 days a week for 3 Years. And got 2 friends into it as well.

      Same with me! I remember being in nursing school going over notes, I had juji on in the back ground for noise and suddenly I see him training with magnus doing insane feats of strength. Needless to say I didn’t study well that night, and almost four years later I have thrown myself into climbing. A little after 4 months of training I’m consistently climbing V3 and sport climbing 5.10a

    Moral of the story: Magnus is naturally strong. You are not Magnus, you are you.

    Magnus's pointer, middle and ring finger are so similar in length. I imagine that is pretty helpful in climbing. Mine are quite a bit different in length, and while I don't feel it holds me back too much, its hard to know. I do feel pretty awkward on smaller crimps, and I think finger length differences might be a part of why, as I don't have a very natural grip on them, its a bit forced.

    Those middle three fingers being the same length is weird.

      @@accreg3918 Thanks for confirming. I wonder why this has been uploaded now. So much has changed since then. He had yet to hit 1m subs, hadn't collabed with Ondra, hadn't solo'd with Honnold, hadn't even done any military vids. It seems like ancient history, lol

      It's both. "Association football" gets shortened to "soccer". The UK uses both soccer and football. Europe uses football. America uses soccer

      there's no reason to climbers get to much muscle, cause affects the ratio between strength and weight

    • @pixelcrust
      @pixelcrust 10 місяців тому

      @@viniciuscollaco doesnt it just differ how you train?

    • @NickSteffen
      @NickSteffen 9 місяців тому +3

      @@viniciuscollaco Steroids don’t always make you bulk up. Bikers have used steroid and they also try to be really light just getting strong in the legs. You can look at athletes that have taken steroids like Anderson Silva and lance armstrong and notice they are not that bulky.
      Steroids primarily make you recover faster which when paired with extra weight lifting makes you bulk up(whenever you hear a body builder say he weight lifts every day for four hours that’s a red flag). When applied to other training regimes it allows you to train at a higher level more often which often makes your muscle add strength in ways that don’t add much weight.
