skyclasp greg loves the fame from the movie. He loves being in the worst movie which is why i dont like him. Hes using tommy. He even wrote a book about it :|
shoaib btt Actually it never happened. The book explains that Greg's plan was to change identity after The Room, so that he could still go on with his career; but when Tommy forced him to shave his beard, bye bye acting career. In fact, as you can see in the "cheep cheep cheep" scene (the one where they are wearing tuxedos in Peter's studio), he looks pissed off and barely moves his arms.
+Reece Swaby Yeah, I mean, if you look at the story behind the movie, there are decent ideas there. It's just... Tommy Wiseau's not the right guy to bring those ideas to life, haha.
+Magalinnda Clavien I love how uncomfortable Greg becomes when the interviewer asks him to describe the book in which he trash-talks Tommy for 200 pages.
Greg is like a War veteran, getting flashbacks from the filming of the movie as his eyes tear up ever so slightly. He smiles but his eyes stare back at you to signal _"kill me now,.... end this suffering."_
I still tip my hat to Tommy, he completed a goal. He made a movie his way with Hollywood interfering. He even came up with with money for it. Sure it may not be the kind of success one would want but he's the one going on tour, selling merchandise, and making money. So Mr. Wiseau I tip my hat to you.
Marc Weiner he believed he was making an Oscar winning film. He thought this was going to be the world’s greatest drama. After seeing people laugh for the first time, this broke Tommy, and Greg stepped in and told him that people did like it, just not the way he wanted to originally, and that he should accept that his film was still accepted. Tommy immigrated here in the 70’s from France (originally born in Poland in the 50’s) and lived with his aunt and uncle in Louisiana (chalmette, near New Orleans) until being convinced to move to San Francisco. There he sold European toys and eventually clothing, and was able to buy several businesses and earn a substantial amount of money. He was in a car wreck (late 80’s early 90’s?) which led him to reflect on life and pursue his dream of being an actor/producer, so he enrolled in classes and started modeling to get himself out there, it was there he met Greg in 1998, the rest is history

There's no way you can be from Canada (or near it) and NOT have heard about the Room. Tommy said it so it must be true.
Denji2006 Oh I see. Well then you're just lying. Tommy said that Canada embraces the room. There is no way you live in Canada, and you havent heard of the room.... unless of course, you're trying to suggest that something Tommy said wasnt 100% absolutely accurate....

Yeah, he's probably just too polite to admit how much wiseaus movie sucks, and wiseau is in straight up denial of what this movie really is. When he was asked if it was supposed to be black comedy he said it was, but everyone knows that it was really meant to be a drama. I feel bad for both of these people lol
I am very happy to report I still have absolutely no idea what his intentions were and still are for this movie. One moment he seems to be real and accept it's pretty much a big joke, other times he has serious "deep" reasoning for the stupid things in the movie.
The joke thing is just an obvious cop-out, and an easy way to counter all the critics of the film who say that it's so bad you'll laugh to tears (which is really accurate) But according to Greg, Tommy was dead serious about the film!
Flavien Morel I just laugh my ass off at the fact that "Dracula's accident" believes he's some sort of cinema genius. His ego must be completely insane. lol It seemed like the other guy knew it was bad, but couldn't say anything about it.
Denji2006 What does Dracula's accident mean? Is that a Plan 9 From Outer Space Reference, how Dracula's actor died half way through so they got a replacement and covered his face laughably throughout the rest of the movie(Spoiler alert, that's far from the worst part of the movie...)
Well, Dracula tried to mate with a human and she became a drug addict because she was horrified by the mating experience, so snorted coke for three months and tried to kill Dracula's spawn by aborting him but because of Dracula's power, he survived being an aborted fetus and has lived his life ever since. Dracula won't acknowledge his own son, so he was abandoned in the United States where he became "Tommy" and his half assed Dracula powers brought him fame and fortune beyond his wildest dreams and scored him a hit movie.
You can clearly tell by how this film is structured that Tommy's goal when he set out to film this (for a 6 million budget and 1,800 box office) was to make a serious emotional drama. In a way i feel bad for him because it was so shat on and everyone laughs at it's shitty everything but now he's made money off of it and has become reasonably famous. He shouldn't lie to make himself look better.
+Daniel Staab it pisses me off now when i watch all these interviews, he constantly retorts the same general stupid conjecture that theres some deep symbolism for every thing, according to him, even the spoon thing is some sort of deep psychological symbolism, on top of the fact that he says it was his absolute intention to garner this response toward the movie... PFF, his demeanor is so unbelievably clueless and quite frankly, often a bit arrogant. The CNN interview was revealing.... he constantly interrupted Greg and then got offended over the stupidest stuff for no reason, like saying "your talking to yourself but thats ok" like WTF? god what an idiot
+Daniel Staab Will you please watch my videos? I need 100 0n atleast 1 by tonight or my stepdad says I have to delete my account because it's "embarrassing"
Baville Read the disaster artist - Eastern Bloc Europe, moved to France when he was very young, than to Lousiana apparently and than San Francisco. Disaster Artist is masterfully written, literally spent two days end to end absorbing it.
RetardPwnage same here. i just read the book. and then watched the movie. Sestero's book moved me at times. I have a great amount of admiration for Tommy Wiseau to not wait for someone to throw a party, but to throw his own. He's DIY at any cost. literally. The movie is funny, but its not as bad as people want it to be. It was beautifully shot, and the actors did the best they had with what they had to work with. I hope to someday meet these guys. but not to laugh at them I dig Tommy Wiseau, really do.
I just saw this movie last night, and my throat hurts from laughing so hard. I love how Tommy doesn't answer any of the questions, but just goes on and on about how wonderfully the movie is being received in Canada.
What a guy, you cant help but love him, even while knowing he was trying to make a serious movie and not admitting it, the pure heart that he is just makes you just know he’s been wanting to fit in. Looking from the other side i think it’s nice that he stands out.
If anybody hasn't already, I highly recommend reading The Disaster Artist by Greg Sestero. It was very eye opening and explained many unanswered questions that revolve around the room and fully described its backstory. It was a very good read
The best filmmaker since my favorite, Stanley Kubrick. An exceptional director and a very influential pioneer of the medium...............................
Margaret I think he’s a nice person too. Like he thinks this is all ridiculous but he knows that Tommy is a harmless fella with a soul of a kid. And he gets annoyed and protective at the same time.
It's possible. But I certainly didn't get that when reading Greg's book. He liked Tommy and like hanging out with him much of the time but other times he was embarrassed by him and uncomfortable with his clingy and overbearing nature. He was also very jealous of Greg because of his good looks and acting opportunities prior to being in The Room. Honestly, I feel that today, Greg is around Tommy now because he's all he has left from that time when he was an aspiring actor and the Room pretty much killed his career. Still sweet that he stays by his side.
Tommy Wiseau is such a liar. He seriously thought it was a good movie, until he finally realized people were laughing at him. Now he says he did it "on purpose". But anyways, how's your sex life?
One of the most interesting theories regarding the Room and Tommy Wiseau is that the discrepancies in what Tommy has stated as to where he's from and when he was born as well as the massive budget for such a bad movie point to the possibility of it being a money laundering project after some sort of heist, after which Tommy moved to America and changed his name.
One thing about Tommy that really interests me is that it's impossible to tell what he's thinking. I like trying to read people's faces. but it's really hard with him.
Tommy always says in interviews that he intended it to be as goofy and awful as it is. Totally a lie. There's embracing the ass-backward cult following, and then there's flat out lying about your intentions. Tommy's awesome, but it wouldn't kill him to tell the truth.
Since the room is such a big part of his life now, I think it would be too embarrassing for him to admit that it wasn't bad on purpose and that he messed up because he'd have to live with the humiliation of it only having succeeded because it was accidentally hilariously bad.
I don't think the movie was meant to be bad because Tommy acts the same in pretty much all aspects of life. He's like on a different planet lol, all the time. He has this kind of concerning nonchalance to him haha
I absolutely LOVE Greg Sistero, and how he is trying so hard not to laugh when he talks about how the movie deserves an Oscar for Best Movie ANd Best Director. Greg Sistero actually did an AMA on Reddit when he talked openly about the movie and how it was a huge regret of his and also how he doesn't understand Tommy Wiseau at all and thinks he's pretty weird actually haha Sadly, this movie is a hilarious joke that everyone, including Greg Sistero and the host here are in on, but sadly Tommy Wiseau has NO idea and he's so oblivious which makes it ALL the more hilarious.
Greg has spent years perfecting a way to let everyone else know that he knows the movie was terrible beyond belief, while not hurting Tommy's feelings

The joke thing is just an obvious cop-out, and an easy way to counter all the critics of the film who say that it's so bad you'll laugh to tears (which is really accurate) But according to Greg, Tommy was dead serious about the film!
Flavien Morel
I just laugh my ass off at the fact that "Dracula's accident" believes he's some sort of cinema genius. His ego must be completely insane. lol
It seemed like the other guy knew it was bad, but couldn't say anything about it.
Perfect movie for Valentine's Day
You wanna a pizza????????????dlfkas;lf waefwoep fpo!!!!
Ryan Russo i already ordered a pizza!
Mrtamal01 good thinking, you think of everything!
When I saw Greg Sestero I just thought.....oh hi mark
Such a amazing piece of art this movie is, ahead of its time .
"oh, Hi Mark"!
Greg is trying so desperately not to laugh when Tommy says ridiculous things this interview is gold
Tommy is crying under those glasses
Awwww....
Knowing him, he is probably crying pepsi...
Wouldn't you be? They betrayed him they didn't keep their promise they tricked him and he doesn't care any more.
Reece Swaby Yes but is he fedup widiz warawld
Jennifer S You're tearing him apart Jennifer
You can clearly tell by how this film is structured that Tommy's goal when he set out to film this (for a 6 million budget and 1,800 box office) was to make a serious emotional drama. In a way i feel bad for him because it was so shat on and everyone laughs at it's shitty everything but now he's made money off of it and has become reasonably famous. He shouldn't lie to make himself look better.
He actually submitted it to the oscars? I'M FED UP WITH THIS WUUURLD!
+Daniel Staab IM FED UP WIT DIS WUUUUUUUUUURLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Tommy Wiseau as a future filmmaker, I will always use your films to help me realize things can always be.worse
I need 100 0n atleast 1 by tonight or my stepdad says I have to delete my account because it's "embarrassing"
watching Greg try not to laugh is the absolute best part of these interviews
What planet is he from? I can tell he's trying hard not to revert back to his alien language.
He's from Chicken world CHEEP cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep cheeeeeep!!!!
His name appears to be French...-ish, but I heard it's a variant of a Polish name. So he could be Polish. I would guess so too, I live in Poland.
Baville Read the disaster artist - Eastern Bloc Europe, moved to France when he was very young, than to Lousiana apparently and than San Francisco. Disaster Artist is masterfully written, literally spent two days end to end absorbing it.
RetardPwnage I have it, read a few pages. ;)
RetardPwnage
same here. i just read the book. and then watched the movie.
Charles Lee Ray finally got his own fucking movie.
Ain't that the truth
***** ha ha
no hassle ANDY, YOU ARE MY FUTURE BODY
+no hassle Long after he hit the wall! (I thought Charles Lee Ray was sexy in his human form, but Tommy Wiseau not so much.)
***** No, but Tommy is the shitty version.
I didn't recognise the man with the long black hair and sunglasses to be Tommy Wiseau. But he is my favourite actor, writer, producer, etc
Because being the best at being the worst is still being the best at something.
for interviewing someone as special as Tommy, this was a very excellent interview!
Great job Liem Vu!
If anybody hasn't already, I highly recommend reading The Disaster Artist by Greg Sestero. It was very eye opening and explained many unanswered questions that revolve around the room and fully described its backstory. It was a very good read
this guy is an alien
He's doing a report on Mankind. His study is almost done. He will return to his home planet soon enough.
No, he's Asian.
Lol you can completely tell Greg is struggling to hide laughter
this was a great interview The Host who was interviewing Tommy an Greg was so respectful an real with them
Greg is trying so hard not to laugh at 4:16. Just look at that face rofl
Lmao
Now that I'm listening to Greg narrating his book The Disaster Artist, every moment in this interview is gold
when the interviewer asks him if it was his intention to make a bad movie he says "absolutely" ...dont think he was even listening to the question
TheZurul it’s just like slipping on a banana peel and making people laugh. Better to pretend that you did it on purpose
The best filmmaker since my favorite, Stanley Kubrick. An exceptional director and a very influential pioneer of the medium...............................
he's a true contemporary savant
"It's different than when you see it on DVD. They're throwing football, you know what I'm saying."
someone should make a script of what tommy says and try to analyze the meaning hahaha what the hell does that even mean
metalguitarist11 He is probably just talking about fans bringing footballs to The Room screenings.
I always feel like something horrible is going to happen the family of Greg if he fucks up, and Wiseau reminds him of that every day.
greg is like ridiculously handsome
omg yes!
Margaret I think he’s a nice person too. Like he thinks this is all ridiculous but he knows that Tommy is a harmless fella with a soul of a kid. And he gets annoyed and protective at the same time.
Greg clearly hates his past...
A porno would've been less embarrassing than this film...
It is SO obvious that Greg Sestero doesn't want to be there.
Aaron Valla why wouldnt he want to be there if he wrote a book about it?
the room keeps greg relevant
J Kilroy His book about The Room, where Tommy is basically the main focus.
Great date movie.
If a girl will sit trough it with you, marry her.
derbigpr500 it's a great test.
Best thing to do is sit through it with a chick all dead serious like your seriously into it.
***** Possibly.
***** Did she enjoy it?
I feel like Tommy thinks him and Greg are like best friends but it's really the opposite and Greg is nice enough to not say that they aren't.
Have you read the book? They kind of are.
I think they really are friends, but Tommy thinks more of Greg than Greg does of Tommy.
*****
The hell? Disregard. I read your comment much differently earlier.
XD You know what the sad part is? Apparently they ARE friends.
Weirdest. Fucking. Friendship. Ever.
I wanna report to you, Wiseau's mastery of the English language is downright exquisite!
I seriously would love to know what is going through Tommy's mind throughout all this.
"heh heh heh heh heh heh.hehehehe. heehe hehhe heheheheh"
PinkFloydrulez
you sir...are...an...excellent...mind reader!
he thinks people liked the moves because they though it was good. This is amazing
hunterspride18 HUH?
Gabriel L.765132 !!!!?
Tommy Wiseau is such a liar. He seriously thought it was a good movie, until he finally realized people were laughing at him. Now he says he did it "on purpose". But anyways, how's your sex life?
HAHAHAHAHAHA
What a story Mark!!
It’s going well tbh. Recently got a girlfriend, and we’re really enjoying our honeymoon period. How about your sex life?
You're the expert mark!
In every interview, whenever Tommy Wiseau is asked a question, he doesn't really answer, lol
i love how whenever tommy gets asked a question he rambles on about something entirely unrelated for a ridiculous amount of time
Tommy Wiseau is fucking nuts!
I love how Greg is able to not offend Tommy whenever he's interviewed with him
One of the most interesting theories regarding the Room and Tommy Wiseau is that the discrepancies in what Tommy has stated as to where he's from and when he was born as well as the massive budget for such a bad movie point to the possibility of it being a money laundering project after some sort of heist, after which Tommy moved to America and changed his name.
the purpose of laundering is not for the enterprise to become world famous
How does the interviewer keep from losing it? I'd be laughing hysterically and uncontrollably.
greg is the best kind of friend one can have
You are tearing me apart Tommy Wiseau !
I love Tommy, but he's LYING when he says he wrote it to be a comedy!!! He totally thought it was going to be the Great American Drama.
XDD just let him do his own embarrassment
The effort Greg is putting up on not laughing is epic.
Oh hi mark
Jaeger Brosi oh hi Denny.
Do you understand life?
How's your sex life?
hi doggy
I like seeing that everyone listening to Tommy do not buy a word he says.
is it me or was Tommy hinting that Greg should not betray him, just like in The Room ? Wow that's some insane shit XD
I feel like him lying like a toddler only makes it better though. Who would believe that?
Since the room is such a big part of his life now, I think it would be too embarrassing for him to admit that it wasn't bad on purpose and that he messed up because he'd have to live with the humiliation of it only having succeeded because it was accidentally hilariously bad.
I don't think the movie was meant to be bad because Tommy acts the same in pretty much all aspects of life. He's like on a different planet lol, all the time. He has this kind of concerning nonchalance to him haha
Maybe it will.
PanoramicView maybe he sold his soul to have fame but got it in the worst way.
Amazing interviewer!! I loved the quality questions and the sincere interest.
Greg wrote a book about the making of this movie and what a nightmare it was!
"I have a beard and then I don't." I love this guy.
I absolutely LOVE Greg Sistero, and how he is trying so hard not to laugh when he talks about how the movie deserves an Oscar for Best Movie ANd Best Director.
Greg Sistero actually did an AMA on Reddit when he talked openly about the movie and how it was a huge regret of his and also how he doesn't understand Tommy Wiseau at all and thinks he's pretty weird actually haha
Sadly, this movie is a hilarious joke that everyone, including Greg Sistero and the host here are in on, but sadly Tommy Wiseau has NO idea and he's so oblivious which makes it ALL the more hilarious.
4:35 I thought he was gonna say "did a lot of drugs" 😂
