This is my biggest worry when driving my Outcast, DBXLE, or SBR 2.0 in public places. Not so much hitting myself, because who'd do that, lol. But plowing thru a group of kids or nuns that pop out of nowhere. Maybe we should only drive our Xmaxx. Nobody in history has ever been hurt from getting hit with a piece of floppy plastic.
Ive gad my DBXL do something similar and it broke my big toe and ripped the nail off THROUGH my shoe. 66MPH + 35LBS is much stronger than my foot is and I was lucky!!
A similar thing happened to me, but i wasn't driving. 12 staples later and ridiculous recovery. I am still going. Definitely not a toy! But always a ton of fun! Rock on!
