We hit 200,000 subscribers this past weekend. THANK YOU so much to each and every one of you who has subscribed! I appreciate you so much and am very grateful that you are a part of the Daily Connoisseur community! I hope you enjoy today's video. What would you add to the list? Let us know. Thank you for watching. Love, Jennifer xx
Please do a part 2! I feel more polished and poised already! I started wearing “real” pajamas about a year ago even though my husband continued to wear old worn out shirts and gym shorts. This weekend, he put on the set I bought him a year ago when I invested in one for myself. He hates having any attention, so I just kissed him good morning and hope he enjoyed it as much as I do!
Great thought! I am so glad there is someone who doesn't like the attention that comes with change! I always thought it was weird about me! So good to have company!
Love this list! I have found that having stationary on hand makes writing thank-you notes (almost) effortless. And I would add that a bathrobe/ dressing gown is a parent’s BEST tool! If you get dressed and you’re in nicer clothing, put the bathrobe on while you get breakfast ready, snuggle with your toddler, and do your morning routine to get out the door. It allows you to dress well so that you’re presentable outside the home, but also helps you get all the baby snuggles in the morning without worrying about sticky jam hands on your shoulders or pants 🙌
I settled on Corelle as my favorite type of dishes. They are classy but lighter than china and hard to break, and they take up so little room in the cupboards that I can afford to have as big a matching set as I like. Plus they come in so many styles, one is bound to suit you!
I agree on all of these, and have them all. There is something about having nice, appropriate things (not necessarily expensive) for everyday life, that makes everyday life feel better. Of course, that’s the main point of Jennifer’s channel.
I agree with every one of these, and my mother always said "Restaurants always use white dishes because white dishes allow the food to be the star! Invest in an all white setting for 8-10 people if possible!" I heeded her advice and registered for them and it has been the best advice! Williams Sonoma has a very inexpensive option of "open kitchen" white dishes for those wanting to start a collection! Then using seasonal/decorative table linens allow us to personalize the space perfectly!
Absolutely!! White looks great for each holiday. Red linens look nice at Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and birthdays. Roses, tulips, geraniums and many flowers compliment these, also.
Yes! The nice thing is that solid white Corelle plates are beautiful, sturdy, inexpensive, and being lightweight they fit nicely in the dishwasher and when stored (mine are in a drawer so my kids can easily set the table.)
I agree. After I developed arthritis, my stonewar dishes were just too heavy for me so I bought two sets of corral in Winter Frost White. They are very usable for all seasons and easy to dress up or down with the appropriate napkins
Please do a part two! I would love this as a series. I live in not-so-elegant circumstances right now but working to level up my life - up to the bare essentials, lol - and maintain elegance throughout this hardship. I’d love more videos like this to remind of what to aspire to while I work my way up to being chic and elegant always!
This is why I think the part "the best you can afford" is so important! For me, it's very encouraging, because it indicates that I can start working to become a better version of myself NOW and don't have to wait for better times.
I agree with EVERYTHING! I am especially happy you mentioned matching undergarments. I only buy white, taupe, & black - so I am always matched. I thought I was alone in thinking this! LOL. Thank you again Jennifer.
The matching undergarments is so true. I have had them since I was a teen because my mom bought them for me and I still remember a friend of mine who saw me wearing them when we changed clothes before gym class complemented me on this. After that she always asked what I was wearing because she liked that as well.
I love all of these! For years I have not only worn matching undergarments, but have taken it a step further and also coordinate it with what I’m wearing on the outside. Even when I wear scrubs for work! It just makes me feel more put together. Also, a steamer is a must for travel. Comes in handy for all those slightly wrinkled clothes in your nice luggage😊 TFS
These items are so TRUE. I couldn't agree more. My husband and I are working towards changing many of these items. Why has it taken us this long to make a shift to quality, long lasting, grown up items I ask myself?! I'd love to see a second part series to this topic for sure!
In regard to your suggestion to have stationery, please do a video about correspondence. The importance of thank you notes and how to write one correctly. Also, guidelines for sending notes and greeting cards.
I love it! Proper stationery is first. Having stationery at hand is important for that unexpected note of sympathy congratulations or encouragement. It is also important to have notecards on hand for that sadly overlooked thank you note for those little or big reasons. And of course, that unexpected letter is truly a gift. I pick up birthday cards so that I have them at the ready. Planning ahead is the key. Correspondence is a joyful experience for both parties. Thank you for promoting this neglected social skill.
Re stationery: I am a British History nerd, and took a cue from the Tudor court/ I think "important" people may still do this? I chose myself two "badges" for myself: the rabbit and the poppy. They are symbols that mean a lot to me for personal reasons. Our family also has two badges that we always put together when the represent all of us, a rabbit and a robot. They suit us, as my badges suit me. So for stationery, whenever I find beautiful cards with poppies or (non-cartoon) rabbits on them, I buy them, and I keep them in a drawer for when I need to write a card or letter. (I also have my badges tattooed on me, but I realize not everyone considers that particularly chic, no judgment here!) I have just about everything else on this list as well, and I think it's a terrific list! I wouldn't object to a part 2 either!
Such a great idea! I have formal stationery with our family crest, a wax seal stamp with family name letter, and stationery with a robin for myself, as an "informal" badge.
I have not found as much of a need for stationery, I do however keep a nice selection of thank you cards and blank note cards that come in handy for everything from paying my snow removal person to dropping a get well or good cheer note. And I also love my steamer! I honestly don’t have to use it very often but when I do, or for travel, it is such a valuable appliance! Thanks for the other tips, appreciate the video!
I "found" you when I was researching intermittent fasting; now I've just subscribed as I love the lifestyle videos and totally love that you are encouraging a classy lifestyle for all.
If you are looking for a nice set of dishes but you don't have a lot of money to spend, try estate the sales in your area. Sometimes you can find high quality sets. I've been to sales where people had rather expensive sets. Many times family members don't want the extra stuff and would rather sale them.
I would love to see a part two to this! I just recently purchased a steamer and I’m so very glad I did. It has been such a timesaver in getting my clothing looking pristine and well cared for.
You always have such beautiful things to say and teach. My favorite stationary is Crane. It comes in differing weights. I prefer a heavier weight paper. The bee 🐝 stationary can be found there.
I love your videos Jennifer. You are extremely inspirational and yet humble. I have been watching you since your very early days and I would like to congratulate you on reaching 200 thousand subscribers. Well done, you deserve it so much. Thankyou. X
Dear Jennifer this was a lovely video. I always love how you try to make it attainable for everyone who might watch. You really are a gift to this world!
I’m 55 and I wish someone had told me, when I was first starting out, that the smartest thing to do is get a good set of white dishes. The reason being is that, first, food looks beautiful on white dishes. But the other thing is that they go with every occasion. You just pair them with tablescaping that matches the holiday you’re celebrating. The rest of the year, just use beautiful cloth napkins and beautiful cutlery. I feel like I wasted time, money and emotion over the years trying to collect dishes for various holidays. Just my opinion….everyone needs to do what makes them happiest in their own lives. P.S. this is not a slight at your beautiful dishes, Jennifer 😘❤️
Good idea with all white set. I live by myself and have literally only one white plate, will that do? I never had a need for more, I just eat and wash it, I never have dirty dishes and don’t eat much so one meal on one plate is the easiest for me. Also I’m renting so I feel so temporary here even though I’m at the current place third year, I might get a whole set when I buy a house. But honestly I don’t feel too elevated with my one plate.
Oh my. I'm 73 and your video reminded me of the stationary I used when I wrote my husband love letters when he was in the Airforce and in Germany. Sweet memories. I say yes to the stationary!
I recently purchased a nice robe, and am phasing out my older pajamas for somewhat nicer ones! As a classic movie fan, I do love the characters in their lovely matching peignoir sets, or men in their smoking jackets!
Good morning Jennifer, congratulations on 200 k, I’m blessed and honored to be part of your community, thank you for this video, and I would love to see a part 2.🌷
What a great list, and very validating. I invested in a really good wallet a few years ago and it really does make a difference when you don’t have to fumble around looking for cash or the right membership card. I would definitely add that every adult should have a passport. You never know when you’ll have a chance to take a quick getaway! Love your style, Jennifer!
The iron…I use mine almost everyday…most of those I work with don’t even own one. I feel very put together when my clothes are neatly pressed. Great list…happy to say I have most items, a wallet is next on my list. Thank you Jennifer, throughly enjoy your content.
I LOVE THIS! Thank you so much for all your videos. You give me hope that there are people who appreciate elegance and understand that it IS possible to add elegance to their daily lives. ❤️
Jennifer please do more of these, i recently turned into an adult and am started living alone. I find it a little hard to remain classy and match up with other adults at the same time. It would be very helpful if you could share more tips. Thank you.
I love this! We need stationery. So funny you made this as I was telling my husband this morning that he needs a robe. I am going to get him one. I like to wear only black undergarments. It’s easy for my mind
I remember eating at my grandparent's house, and they had a similar dish set to the Spode Blue in a reddish brown tone. I wonder if they still have them... Anyway, thank you for the lovely video! Not everything you said works perfectly for my lifestyle (as I'm using Apple Pay I don't need a wallet) I think anyone can adapt your advice to their personal needs! I'm especially glad you mentioned investing. I started back in October to really focus on where my money is going, and it feels wonderful to be quite young (25) and have my money and budget under control!
I am also realising I no longer need my purse (I am English). Gents use a wallet in the UK. I know folks in the US call their bag their purse. Anyway I find I only need my phone and a credit card these days.
The investment account is something I highly recommend to every young person I encounter. All these items mentioned is a must for me. Thank you, Jennifer. ☺
Thank you for this video, Jennifer! I've been watching you on UA-cam since the very beginning. You inspired me take out my nice china and display it in a clear kitchen cabinet where I would see it and use it. When I got married (I'm a few years older than you), it was common to register for a set of everyday dishes and fancy dishes. With four kids of my own, the fancy dishes sat in protected zippered china bags and boxes in a storage closet for years. After watching one of your past videos and reading your books on using the best things that you own on a daily basis, we have been enjoying the fancy dishes ever since. Thank you for all that you do. I always look forward to watching your videos with a cup of tea and a homemade treat. I regret that I never ran into you when you lived on the Westside and got your hair done at Adrimar, which is sadly no longer there. Have a wonderful day:)
I get beautiful dishes from my local Goodwill. I don't have sets, I like mismatched plates, but every piece is intentional. Since I'm 71, I don't own an iron anymore but I agree I should get a steamer. I live in Hawaii and our clothes are minimal but it's nice not to be wrinkled. I just bought new underwear. I didn't have holes, or anything, but wanted to feel better about my undergarments. You don't have to have money to be intentional. I found a Sharper Image new suitcase at Ross for little money. Just found your channel. Aloha
I'd love to see a video about caring for clothing! Prevention and treatment of stains, what kinds of maintenance a tailor can do, laundry and ironing and storage tips, that sort of thing.
Over the last year I bought Eileen West nightgowns. They'l are old fashioned beautiful. I feel beautiful in them and they are the most comfortable pajamas I have ever slept in. They're definitely an investment and I launder them very delicately. I got tired of travelling with mismatched bags and suitcases and finally took the plunge for a set. Feels wonderful!! I've used Corelle winter frost dishes for the last 11-12 years. They have been a godsend while my kids were young but now, one is 20 and the other is 17. I'm ready for some grown up dishes. It's ironic that I have stumbled upon your channel. I've been telling my husband recently that I'm ready to redo a few things in the house to make it feel more grown up!!
I love this list! I have everything except for a proper robe. I did own one but I had to toss it because it was falling apart. Also a fan of old-fashioned watches, and can't go about my day without wearing a watch.
Congratulations on 200,000, Jennifer!! This was a good video. Hmmm, additions? Maybe a decent pen rather than one you picked up somewhere? But your list was very good!
Thank you for this lovely breath of fresh air on a Monday morning! I adore my Spode Woodland set for autumn and my Johnson Bros pink Old Britain Castles for everyday dining. ❤ Yes please on Part 2!
Nice! I love my Lenox 'Carolina' fine china that I registered for before getting married, and then I inherited my mom's fine china, and my great grandmothers, which I especially treasure! Dates to the 1890's...
I have been an adult for decades, I like part 1. I hope you don’t mind suggestions for Part 2. don’t buy cards that say Thank You (you say thank you in your handwritten note.) Robe, maybe but get dressed for breakfast if you are an overnight guest in someone’s home. In addition to investments, a checking account or online baking as a cashless way to pay bills. A financial planner to manage your debt and savings (not investment advisor - they only do buys and sells). Establish a good credit score so you qualify for a loan or apartment rental when needed. Renters insurance to insure your furniture. Real seating other than futons and canvas folding chairs for your living area. A frame and headboard for your mattress. Hair cut professionally done. Some T-shirts and hoodies without writing on it and for men some collared casual shirts. Shoes other than flip flops for hot weather. A leather or quilted satchel to carry your laptop or iPad. Safe deposit box for important documents you need in paper format. If you have posters on the wall, frame them. Toss undies that have holes in them. Get professional fitting for bra to get correct strap and cup size. Set of matching dishes is fine but make sure they are safe for microwave. A small appliance (toaster oven or air fryer) for when you don’t need a full size oven. Food storage containers that go in fridge and freezer and have its lid.
Another thing to consider are your kids when it comes to pyjamas and robes. I lately realized that my son is almost ten and some of my pjs are too short and simply not approprite! I have some very nice dishes that belonged to my husband's grandmother and mother. In Poland having family dishes is not that obvious because our grandparents and great grandparents lost most of their belongigns during II World war. We also have a wooden jewlery box that my mother in law, before she passed away, told me to take care of because her grandmother took it with her from Poland to Syberia, and them on her way back with Ander's army to Poland. Today a lot of young people don't care for stuff like that, they want everything brand new. I was like that as well about 10 years ago, but my mindset really changed and I think that is also a part of being an adult (34 so still young as I like to think:)
Watching your videos made me realize how much I desired a set of nice dishes as a homemaker! We had melamine plates for years, and then after I realized that I did not want to eat off plastic, we got a blank, white, generic set of dishes off of Amazon several years ago. However I longed for a set of lovely dishes. Last year, after lots of research, I selected the Lenox Butterfly Meadows dishes set. I got them on a Christmas sale from Macy’s online. They have enhanced my life so richly! I love eating off of them, and seeing the hydrangeas (one of my favorite flowers) and the butterflies fluttering on my plates. I even thrifted a pair of matching Lenox butterfly tea cups, and I actually make time to have a cup of herbal tea in my hectic day, or before bed. All thanks to you!! 💛 🦋
Thank you for this video. I agree with you 100%. I recently invested in some antiqu Rosenthal and Haviland dishes and absolutely love them! I have some Corelle for the kids, but got kind of tired of using "child proof and break proof" dishware. I absolutely love your black shoes with the bee on them. Can you please remind me where you got them? I know you mentioned them in a past video, but I forgot which one. THANKS!
So glad you said plain white plates because that's what mine are! They have a little embossed wavy pattern and that's all, I love them because they match with everything.
I live in a high-rise building. We had a small fire in one the units and had to evacuate. I looked a hot mess. Of course one of my neighbors had on a beautiful tailored navy robe with pink and white piping. It was monogrammed in pink. Her house slippers were the exact same navy and they were monogrammed in pink. I felt like a total bum! I recently purchased a caftan to hang near the front door for such emergencies and fire drills. I need to look for a new regular robe because the one that I have is too small to close properly. It’s one of the things you don’t notice when you always wear your robe open. Thank you for the reminder😂
I feel so validated! I have all of those items. I even added a nice set of flatware. Simple, sleek, and timeless. As well as glasses and coffee cups and saucers even though i don't drink coffee! lol!
Hi Jennifer... I love this video 🌸 it reminds me of your beautiful book. I love the ideas and have added many ideas you have shared 🌸 Congratulations on new number on subscribers! I loved as you began and all the beautiful videos and additions since then. Thank you ❤️ nancy
I'm so excited to watch this! You're a breathe of fresh air Jennifer. We use Connoisseur Kids as part of our manners learning, too. Thanks for your work:)
Loved the video! The thing about wallets is that I like them to be small, not purse sized. I might be using a kids' wallet 😂 It doesn't look shabby or weird, but it fits nicely in my hand. Not sure if it's chic 🤔
Congratulations on the 200K milestone Jennifer!
That's wonderful, Congratulations! You make wonderful videos and I'm sure you will gain an even larger audience.
Congratulations and keep up the fantastic work!🤩
Congratulations 👏
Congratulations! 🎈🎊🎉 Changing the world one subscriber at a time! Per your request, I would add: a collection of beautiful music and a rich library.

This weekend, he put on the set I bought him a year ago when I invested in one for myself. He hates having any attention, so I just kissed him good morning and hope he enjoyed it as much as I do!

That’s a great recommendation, I always disliked heavy plates.

Love that! Plain white dishes are my favorite

This is why I think the part "the best you can afford" is so important! For me, it's very encouraging, because it indicates that I can start working to become a better version of myself NOW and don't have to wait for better times.
You can still find nice items at thrift stores and dollar store...
@@garlicgirl3149 yes! I would even say that you can find clothes of better quality there than in some regular shops...

I would add, a cute or nice apron! I love my aprons and utilize them so much as a mom and someone who loves baking! ☺️
I generally dislike “must have” videos but this was brilliant. Just spot on. Please do part 2 or even part 3. You are an inspiration, Jennifer!
Those white pyjamas with the over-sized rever collar is just...stunning.
They are truly beautiful. The brand is Not Just Pajama.
In regard to your suggestion to have stationery, please do a video about correspondence. The importance of thank you notes and how to write one correctly. Also, guidelines for sending notes and greeting cards.
I bought a lovely Coach wallet in 2000 and it still looks new. Investing in high quality is the way to go.
I love it! Proper stationery is first.

I say yes to the stationary!
(Melanie here) I am in love with my pajamas from Cozy Earth. They are bamboo. I got the blush color and they feel luxurious.
I recently purchased a nice robe, and am phasing out my older pajamas for somewhat nicer ones! As a classic movie fan, I do love the characters in their lovely matching peignoir sets, or men in their smoking jackets!
Yes for investment accounts and starting young!
I would love to see a part 2 or 3 on this subject! My mother taught me these values when I was growing up. It has served me well!
Good morning Jennifer, congratulations on 200 k, I’m blessed and honored to be part of your community, thank you for this video, and I would love to see a part 2.🌷
I'm honored to have you here! Thank you.
Congratulations Jennifer on 200k!!! So richly deserved. My favorite UA-cam channel by far. ❤️
Thank you! ✨✨✨
Love the complete zip up wallets because I had a time where my debt card fell out, thankfully I noticed it.

Yes. I would never own one lol
I love your slippers. I've always worn the cute fuzzy slippers, but I think i'll add a more sophisticated house slipper
Yes please! And part 3 and 4 too!! I love how you go into depth with each item and not just do a scatterblaster style "50 things in 3 minutes"... 😂
Thank you.
May I add that especially young adults need to be taught how to iron.
Thanks for sharing.
I enjoyed this video and would love to a part 2! Thank you.
I agree with everyone of your suggestions ! And yes, please do a part 2😊
As always - very inspirational, Jennifer! Part two please!
I love this! We need stationery. So funny you made this as I was telling my husband this morning that he needs a robe. I am going to get him one. I like to wear only black undergarments. It’s easy for my mind
I also have mostly black undergarments, it’s much less stressful. All my socks are black and virtually the same, so I don’t need to pair them.
The correct word is stationery. Stationery means writing paper. Stationary means being motionless.
@@fleurtalbot7596 thank you!!
Delightful! ❤️ 💐 Maybe add an occasional bunch of fresh flowers! 💐 💐
Yes to all 10 items! I would love a part two. Congratulations on 200k subscribers!
Hi Jennifer!
Please continue… We need a part 2!!!
Thank you for the video! It always a delight!🌸
Yes, bring on Part 2!
I love this video! I need all of or all but one! Thank you so much Jennifer!!
Hi classy Jennifer! I would love to see part 2. Congratulations on the 200k subscribers, you deserve it.
Great video!
The investment account is something I highly recommend to every young person I encounter. All these items mentioned is a must for me. Thank you, Jennifer. ☺
Are there investment accounts offering interest currently?
@@juliecarns Yes, but not much, mine currently offers 2.35%.
Thanks to you inspiring me, I have gotten pajamas, robe, and a watch over the last few months.
Love to get my notification of a Daily Connoisseur new video!! Thank you for your wonderful content.
Thank you, Sherry!
I second that!
How delightful 🌸🌸🌸 I literally just finished watching another one of you videos. 👒
Thank you for all you do for us and teach us.
Thanks for sharing! Would love a Part 2!
Thank you, Diane!
Found this video interesting and would love to see a part 2. God bless to all.
Yes, Miss Jennifer, I would like to view. Part 2! Thank You! God bless!!!!
Recently recived the robe i ordered You were right it felt warm in the right way in the morning! Thank you!!
Yes please do a part 2. Have a Blessed Easter!
THANKS!
Thank you! I linked them in the pajama section of the description box. They are from Jon Josef.
Yes a part 2 please! You give excellent information as always! Thank you 😊
Please do a part 2! Good to be reminded about those things.
Congratulations on reaching 200k subscribers!!
Yes ! Please a Part 2
So glad you said plain white plates because that's what mine are! They have a little embossed wavy pattern and that's all, I love them because they match with everything.
Absolutely great video
I just learned I have to add two things in here into my life that I didn’t know I need but! really happy right now 🙏🏿.
😅😅
Hi Jennifer yes definitely a part two. This is so true. I gotta say I love the outfit when you were sharing the information on luggage.
Amen to matching underwear! I’ve been doing it for years.
Thank you for this. I am upgrading all areas of my life and becoming more intentional. I love your work.
Quality jewellery, 100% cotton bed linen and good shoes too 😊
I feel so validated! I have all of those items. I even added a nice set of flatware. Simple, sleek, and timeless. As well as glasses and coffee cups and saucers even though i don't drink coffee! lol!
A part 2 would’ve fantastic! I enjoyed this so much and can’t wait to upgrade my luggage-!
Please do a part 2. I so enjoyed this video. Thank you for the notes.
I received my first pen pal letter this week! So excited, thank you for facilitating this!
Loved the dishes piece! I have registered for Lenox Eternal for my wedding. It's wonderful to bring beauty into these everyday aspects of life
Please make a Part II video ❤️
Hi Jennifer... I love this video 🌸 it reminds me of your beautiful book. I love the ideas and have added many ideas you have shared 🌸 Congratulations on new number on subscribers! I loved as you began and all the beautiful videos and additions since then. Thank you ❤️ nancy
Please produce a Part 2! I love learning from and being validated by you in my efforts to be a chic and relevant homemaker. Thank you, Jennifer!
Yes, I rarely carry a purse. I finally found a pretty flowered wallet that fits in my back pocket. Sometimes I made do with a man's trifold instead.
Agreed, I have been using men's wallets for decades for this reason
