When I retired my husband and I moved back to my childhood home to take care of my mother. I love styling the china cabinet. We didn’t have one in our home. I have Christmas dishes in it now. My mom only had a few dishes left from sets we used during my childhood. I found enough of these patterns on eBay to have enough to display in the china cabinet for the other times during the year. Love the memories of seeing these dish patterns from my childhood displayed.
Thank you so much for these videos! My mother passed away in 2020 and I have a son in college and my husband -- who are totally disinterested in holiday decorating -- so now I feel like I have a companion in the process 😊
@@sherrylechaton6924 that must be very difficult! As far as menu planning and baking, my mom was a bit of a rebel and was quite pleased to see ME do the baking ;-), but at least I had another female presence. Hmmm...maybe she was a little conniving...she did always praise my cooking...🤔
I have a China cabinet with an English Rose dinner service in it. I live in Stoke-on-Trent, England, also known as the potteries. I used to work at Wedgwood's as a figure maker. All the main factories were in close proximity but sadly most have gone now. I would be scared of the house rattling, too, very scary.
Scary about the earthquake! I had to chuckle when I saw you in your backyard, coffee and pajamas, here in Wisconsin it was 15 degrees this morning and about an inch of snow on the ground. I always hope for a white Christmas. Thank you.
Hello Jennifer, Your home looks like a serene retreat in this video. I like to place presents on my bed and wrap presents on the floor, too. I’m so glad you are enjoying our Lydia’s gift wrap and tags; when she mentioned her theme of Nutcracker ballet, I thought of you. ☺️ Julie 🌷
Oh, I was just sitting own the floor wrapping presents 🎁 this afternoon too.. I’ve decided to tackle a few a day and not wait last minute! Lovely tree and video 🎄
Jennifer, I love your tree so much. It's like a fairy tale tree and the Santa Claus sleeping underneath is so cute. Your casserole looks so good. I would like to give it a try. Thank you for producing such interesting videos. I smiled to myself when I saw you in your backyard wearing only pyjamas. Here in Ottawa, it's so cold. I'm wearing my winter coat and boots and hat and I'm still shivering when I go out. We need snow to get that horrible chill out of the air. Hope we get it soon.
We got a light dusting apparently last night in MN! Unfortunately horrible to drive on and now I'm considering getting new tires because I hate white knuckle driving 😢
Oh the wrapping paper is unique and festive. It’s stunning! I love the ribbons that you chose to decorate it. I would love to receive a gift wrapped like that. Also, your breakfast casserole looks delicious. I’m going to make this and hope it comes out good as I will need to make some adjustments to it bc of food sensitivities and being low carb, but I think I can make it work. It looks so good! Merry Christmas, Jennifer! You made it incredibly magical!
Lovely video. I appreciated you adding the earthquake scene and could really relate to it. I grew up in Hollywood, and my husband in Northridge, so we totally understand that intense focus on fight-or-flight before carrying on with your day.
"Hashbrown Potato Casserole" IS delicious. I thought I already had all the ingredients so I made no plans to do any grocery shopping. Then I discovered my mistake. So I ended up substituting the meat with low sodium canned organic black beans, rinsed. It still turned out great. Thank you very much for sharing your recipe, Jennifer.
I finally got the oak china cabinet of my dreams a few years ago. I have a collection of different teacups and saucers I have picked up over the years, a china set and figurines. Watching your video has inspired me to change it up a bit. 🍽️
I enjoyed this video. Going to try to make the casserole. it looks delish. i love this time of year. its so joyful and warms my heart. my china cabinet is dedicated to my harry potter collection of books, wands and other collectables! it makes me happy all year long!!
Hi Jennifer, lovely episode. I have a china cabinet filled with crystal/gold wine glasses along with bone china dinnerware. I never thought to switch out for the holidays - something to think about going forward- thank you. Merry Christmas and Happy 🎉 Coming into 2025 to you and your lovely family.
I love your backyard with flowers still blooming in December! Here in coastal SC were are having some very cold weather - the high today was 49! I have an antique china cabinet that my husband gave me for Christmas over 30 years ago - I still love it. TG night I removed my Spode, Woodland china and installed Fitz&Floyd, St Nicholas plates - I wish I had more of the F&F china but sadly they discontinued that pattern! Like you I really like making my china cabinet festive.
Excited to try the breakfast casserole Christmas morning! I also have been looking for a different way to use ribbon on my tree! I like to do the sliced oranges too. The lights shine through them and they look like stained glass windows. Have a wonderful December, Jennifer. 💕🎄
Along with Nikki, both of you ladies are my favourite UA-camrs. I love the way you both present yourselves as it’s so relaxing and not rushed. I have two China cabinets. One contains Wedgewood ‘Blue Mist’ items plus my late Grandmother’s very delicate China tea set which was passed to her by her mother when she got married in 1916. My other China cabinet contains a collection of Wedgewood ‘Kutani Crane’. Both collections were started by my parents and once I was told that my mother wanted to leave both collections to me; I too started collecting what I could of each. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas, Jennifer and a Happy New Year.
Your garden looks so beautiful. Here in the UK we have no colour in the garden at the moment or very little. Scary moment with the earthquake. I didn't realise Christmas crackers were not often used over there. Lovely vlog as ever. ❤
I inherited a small, lit china hutch from my husband’s grandparents. I have a small collection of Father Christmas figures and some international pieces that I place inside for this season. I enjoy my time setting them in place. My grown children, who sadly live in other states, will ask if I set them out yet when they think the season should be starting.
Your videos help me to slow down and savor the little things! I, too, wrap presents on the floor so I can spread everything out! Also, I never style my china cabinet for Christmas, even though I have beautiful dishes🤦🏻♀️. I’m going to change it out right now. Thanks for the reminder!❤️🎄
Great holiday video Jennifer. Here’s a tip for breakfast casseroles using frozen hash browns- but Trader Joe’s hash brown patties, thaw in refrigerator overnight & then break apart in a bowl. Since they are already golden brown, it’s an easy substitute & very tasty.
How I love your Christmas videos!! And I have that 12 Days of Christmas wrapping paper from Lydia. 😍 Isn't it just gorgeous and so high quality?! I used blue velvet ribbon to tie up my gifts, once wrapped. Merry Christmas and thank you for the videos, I could watch a whole year of these in a day. 😂🤗
Jennifer, I would love to hear how you like to do gift giving. Do you like to get a few really nice things or lots of things for the people in your life? Do you gift to friends too? I am only curious as a mom who is new to a full time job, I am reassessing how this should look and hope for insight from someone with true elegance. Of course if you have talked about this please refer to the video! Thank you for all you do!
We are doing a “European Christmas” segment in homeschool this month and I found something from each country at our local World Market store…including English crackers! Ours have nutcracker wrapping and nutcrackers inside 😊 not sure if they have that store in CA (we are in AZ). Super excited for the kids to learn different traditions. Thanks for the video!! ❤❤
Jennifer, only you would refer to wrapping peesents on the floor as unelegant! 😅❤ Loved this video, the giant coloring gingerbread house is absolutely amazing
Lovely video Jennifer, thank you. I had literally just finished teaching a guitar student “O Holy Night” before I watched your video 😊 That earth tremor must have been worrying, I hope you are all okay ❤ Good that the tree stayed put! It looks beautiful.
QUESTION: Now that we’re entering the holiday season, I keep seeing videos about knowing when to leave a holiday dinner or party. Is there a rule of thumb for knowing when to leave? Your breakfast casserole looks delicious! I’ve tried many of your recipes and they’re all wonderful, so I look forward to making this one as well.
Dear Jennifer I’m looking for an occasion wear dress and love the Goella one you featured a few videos back. Can you please share the size you have for the dress and short sleeve cardigan? Thank you
Your ten item videos are my favorite and I was wondering if you would be willing to try to find a plus sized UA-camr to do the ten item wardrobe on her channel for those viewers that are plus sized
Our china hutch gets used/opened at least once a week to grab our good wine glasses and china. I believe in using our good serve ware as much as possible and not wait for special occasions. Happy Holidays
What keeps me from making my own ornaments is that unless they're edible, they're still good from year to year, and there's only so many ornaments that one tree needs.
That China cabinet of yours is almost as savory as the food you cook for your family and us. I want one badly. Mabe in my new place I will have proper dining room then yes, I plan to stuff it with exquisite pieces that will be used daily, what's the purpose otherwise.
They are linked in the products tab on the video. So not in the description box but if you click the products icon on the video itself you’ll see them. Thank you!

6:56 OMG, what a stunning wrapping paper 😱❤
Wow! That was lovely. Almost felt like a vacation, I was so transported! Lovely poem! Inspiring ideas! Beautiful music! ❤

I lost my mom in 2022 and I miss discussing the holiday menu and baking with her.
I'm so happy you find comfort in the videos ♥

Haha, sounds like she knew her strengths and weaknesses!
So enjoyed this! I also like Jennifer decorates! Beautiful video even through an earthquake! The epitome of grace and class under pressure!!❤❤
Omg the earthquake looked so scary! The wrapping paper is really beautiful.

Jennifer, Just truly enjoy every video you create and share. You make everything so joyful and calming. Thank you

Fellow Wisconsinite here!
I also wrap presents on the floor! It's an unlimited space to spread out!
Your tree is lovely. The ribbons and oranges make it special. Great video. Definitely trying the casserole. Thank you.😊
The ribbon technique looks so pretty! I will try it!

Her gift wrap is so pretty!
We have used wrapping paper from Illustrated Life for 3 years now and have always been so pleased with our purchases!

Thank you!
Such a cute idea with the ribbon! The whole tree is just beautiful!!
Thank you!

Such a beautiful video! ❤
I love all of this. Especially the Christmas Crackers 🎉 and Gingerbread Houses
I’m styling my China cabinet with my ceramic Christmas village. There are clock towers, churches, Victorian houses, etc. it will be fun.
I like wrapping presents on the floor too!!
I finally got the oak china cabinet of my dreams a few years ago. I have a collection of different teacups and saucers I have picked up over the years, a china set and figurines. Watching your video has inspired me to change it up a bit. 🍽️
If anyone is looking for china cabinets-check the local Habitat for Humanity-so sad to see so many looking empty and forlorn.
Thank you so much for featuring my wrapping paper designs, Jennifer! You showcased them so beautifully!
I so love the plaid tablecloth and ribbon. Thank you for the nice recipe!!! Wow.
I love wrapping on the floor, too.

@@juliecarns Oh always! I have her artwork on my dining room walls. 🤗

Oh, yes, this would be a great topic to discuss.
Loved the video Jennifer❤..true christmas vibes...so cozy and warm..beautiful wrapping papers and the china ware...
I love my china cabinet. I display my antique pink depression dishes.
I got that house for my granddaughters.

I can't wait to try that breakfast casserole! It looks delicious. I was very inspired to get my house decorated... thank you!
I do like your poetry. I sit and cut and sew on the floor,
Just beautiful!
I’m Canadian and I make our own Christmas crackers every year.
🎉
Lovely video Jennifer, thank you. I had literally just finished teaching a guitar student “O Holy Night” before I watched your video 😊
That earth tremor must have been worrying, I hope you are all okay ❤ Good that the tree stayed put! It looks beautiful.
O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas hymn! 🎄
I love your videos! Thank you for all the time you put into them. Can you please share your egg casserole recipe?
Thank you! It’s written in the description box. ♥️

Hi Jennifer! Your tree is beautiful! I love how the ribbon turned out! I will be enjoying your videos through the season ❤
Thank you so much!
I don't do breakfast casseroles nearly enough! Gonna try one for tomorrow morning.
Great video thank you so much. I really enjoy your channel. Do you have a recommendation for a poem book for older teenager Thank you.
A Chic Society member, Kari Vanhoozer has a poetry book called Tis the Season for Poetry on Amazon...
Love the inspiration I receive from your videos❤. May I ask where did you get those black slippers from…and do you find them comfortable?

I understand the idea behind this, but in theory, size doesn't change the principles of the 10 item wardrobe.
