Jen you do an extremely lovely job following the playing while also featuring the guitar and providing beauty shots (like the down the neck angle, and pull out from the strings), all while moving the before playing content along and speaking in GOTD, all, if not mostly all live to media in one take. So kudos to you, I don't think you get the appreciation you deserve because you do a hell of a lot that most people wouldn't get just viewing. Now, that's a really pretty Gibson and because it's a bonafide "Keef" guitar some lucky Stones fan will likely get this to add to their arsenal,...lucky pup!! See you tomorrow for Straturday!!
A lot of people write off 70 birds saying they are over braced but I have 1970 HB like this one and it’s awesome. It’s a gorgeous playing and sounding guitar. I have a Baggs Anthem in mine and it’s a great live guitar. As Lemmo said not too precious to take to gigs and a cool vintage vibe!
Norman sure knows his stuff when picking up the right gear, as this demo proves. A really excellent example of a working 70's Bird, great tone in this one, picking AND strumming. Lemmo getting the best out of it, well played sir.
I just received 2 of your shirts - I’m in NJ - Philly area - and I have to say they are high quality shirts. Definitely worth purchasing. Thanks Norm & everyone else.
Hello Norm, I hope you see this. I'm actually confident that you in fact.....will Michael, Jen, and Joel? Together? GOTD? This needs to be a staple. I LOVE and will NOT MISS a single episode every week because of them. I love, hell, we all love Mark Agnesi, but this is different. Guitar of the day, slightly different, but on steroids, with verve, laughter, and information. Kudos on these 3 brilliant people. I'm In the process of buying one of your guitars from Reverb instead of Sweetwater's similar offering. Love it all, I tune in 5 days a week, Sunday and Monday are painful, but you folks need time off. But.......Just a suggestion.... Monday Monotones- Where a wide variety of electric, acoustic and other guitars are shown to demonstrate single identifiable riffs associated with those particular instruments. Example: Monte Norman's theme for James Bond, where Vic Flic plays the iconic 24 note theme on a Stratocaster. Well, that was a weird experience. Launching into those Raitt chords sounded SO perfect that it felt like I'd had them in my head all day and had been singing them to myself during your intro. Like an incredible coincidence that you should choose the song in my head. It actually took me a few minutes to realise that it hadn't been in my head after all. That's how perfect it sounded.
lol I was thinking wow this pickup actually sounds pretty good. Then he says “now we’ll turn the pickup on” ... nope. Just can’t beat a mic on an acoustic though I know it’s not always an option.
Artamus Sumatra pickups never seem to quite cut it for me, especially soundhole pickups. I like some of the K&K stuff pretty well but even they don’t compare to a mic.
braderrick If you want the real acoustic sound, nothing beats a microphone imho. I do also like sound hole pickups, because they have more of a hollow body electric sound.
Artamus Sumatra yeah I guess I’ve just always been one to just play a hollow body electric if that’s the sound I’m looking for instead of an acoustic with a pickup.
The hummingbird has always been a grail guitar for me. I scored a 2018 recently (only $1600!!!) and it never fails to inspire me. I'm sure this guitar's next owner will feel the same
OMG......I love that guitar and want it! Please let me know where it will be posted and how much it is. I really do want that guitar! I saw it shown as one of Norms show and tell from his major truck pull of guitars about 2 months ago. Been waiting to see and hear it. It looks amazing and sounds the same.
I’ve went back and watched a lot of older guitar of the days with mark.. and Jen never talks... but she seems to have much more fun with mike and Joel and Todd 😉
that was excellent , the second song especially , very cool. Always liked these hummingbirds . the look , the sound , the whole vibe , they seem to inspire some great playing , and it sounded equally as good , acoustic and plugged in , of course Lemmo has a lot to do with that , but the guitar sounded real good. thanks guys
Mahogany back and sides = my favorite combo. Sounds fantastic. Killer guitar. Great job Lemmo! I absolutely love the podcasts. Thank you guys so much. 🙏And Lemmo you forgot to say ”I’m glad to be here” 😂😅🔎📝
I say Michael has to sing AT LEAST one song every week. FTF would be my pick. You’ve got such a great voice...the guitars would sound even better if you were singing along. 🎶🎤🎶
Lemmo deserves at least Custom Shop Jazzmaster or his own Signature. Otherwise Fender will be missing a trick. He deserves more than a Vintera for his efforts in demonstrating what a great guitar the JM is.
OK, I've heard different advice on this from different experts. I don't know who is correct, so if anyone can 'splain it to me, I'd appreciate it. One batch of experts say that when you have a magnetic soundhole pickup, you should use phosphor-bronze acoustic strings, but screw down the posts on the B and high E strings because the bronze makes the wound acoustic strings not pick up well. But the other experts say that if you have an acoustic with a soundhole pickup, then use electric guitar strings. That goes for guitars with an LR Baggs like this one, or a Fishman, or any other add-on, as well as guitars like the ES-160E or the Epiphones with the nanomag at the base of the neck. I use electric strings on my electrified acoustic. The guy in my band who plays a Breedlove with a soundhole pickup uses acoustic strings. I can't tell much difference. Any expert guidance out there?
George Erdner Hello, you might be better served using nickel strings on older magnetic soundhole pickups but more modern ones such as the LR Baggs M1 on this hummingbird are built to be compatible with PB’s
I listened to the podcast about Lemmo, Nick and Jen. Interesting about Nick working in Denmark St, London, but he never said where he was originally from (unless I missed it?). He's obviously not a Londoner, I'm thinking maybe Lancashre, perhaps Preston. Anyone know? Cool podcast by the way!
Jay Adams Nick not a northerner?? Seriously? I’m from Lancashire and he sounds identical to me.... I even recognize the town as Preston (I think). Are you British? No Brit would say a Bristol accent I’m amazed at that..
@@TheOnlineBusker Nick is indeed from Preston, he's mentioned it before, good spot. But I think he's lived in LA for a few decades, which makes his accent a little unusual.
Mr. Lemmo, would you kindly put names of the songs you've played in the discription?
Can we all be honest here?
Is Michael Lemmo THE most underrated guitarist WORLDWIDE, or what???
My dude does it ALL! 👍🏻👍🏻
He is indeed.. And I think his fame is spreading.. Deservedly so.. Underrated but not for much longer methinks
Amazing I love how expressive and dynamic lemmo is when playing!

Very true
No guitar face. No strain. No drama. Just 100 percent focus and dedication to tone and a great instrument. Guitar god.
Dang that sounded great ! Thanks Lemmo and Jen !

Mr Lemmo is a monster of sure taste. No technical guitaristiic extravaganza, just the good notes and the right feeling.
Awesome job man love seeing all these old school acoustics played properly...
For the record I enjoy the banter as much as the guitar picking.
Norman sure knows his stuff when picking up the right gear, as this demo proves. A really excellent example of a working 70's Bird, great tone in this one, picking AND strumming.

These songs reminded my of why I wanted to start playing in the first place, good choices lemmo👌🏻
Last night was good, you folks have some fun at work. Enjoyed Friday with Lemmo...and Todd...and Joel. Thanks Jen!
Such a pretty guitar - look and sound.
Didn’t he say it was a player’s grade guitar? Probably doesn’t look as good in person.
The pickup is an LR Baggs M1, in case anyone was wondering the specific model.
Beautiful Michael, good job.
Lovely playing as always, Lemmo!
I need that Hummingbird. Made the same yr I was born.
