Virtual dj has a pre-computing stems feature bro.... that too is not a 1st for serato.
Not exactly the same. All systems have preprocessing. This is prior to loading the track.
@@ClevelandTerry which is exactly the same for VDJ..
Virtual dj is not processing every variation of the stem prior to loading the track. That would make your database cache ridiculously large. That’s what the folder is for.
@@ClevelandTerry u can choose to separate the stems in vdj as well prior to loading. Or u can use the on demand. They even have an option to export to cdj the precomputed stems. Of course u will need more disk space if u do this to ur entire library. But no one should do that. Lol
Well I dont think being last or first matter. But yes vdj had both the features upfront.
Thanks C its long overdue and looking forward to new creativity in mix sets
Great video Terry! I can't wait to try this out later today! I use live drums as well as a drum machine in my set so this is VERY exciting to me!
Thank you for the breakdown of serato 3.0. New to me😆
Thank you for your review! I really enjoyed it! Cheers from the Bay
Great job CT. I've been using Algoriddim Djay and from what I can tell Serato sounds better. The second row effects takes stems to another level. I can see a lot of DJ's getting into music production after this. Thanks for all of your hard work 👍
We're entering a great era for DJ software innovation. They're all pushing each other to step it up and bring new features to the table.
It’s a good time to be a DJ
@@ClevelandTerry 💯
I remember when Atomix had the software and Hercules Dj had their first contoller which I had in 2004. I Took it to a club here in NY and they all laughed at me. Now look at what it has become. Oh, back then Virtual DJ had it on lock and then Serato took over. I still use virtual DJ until this day. It is a good program.
You guys are I think u guys are 2 years behind vdj
@@MrChervey686 I agree with u sir
Been working a lot here.. been missing your shows... Hope all is well... Let's Go ‼️‼️
Once again CT...awesome video and info...it is nice to see Serato finally stepping up to catch up...but better...that is the key for me.Thanks brah
i really apreciate your help with dowloanding this software
An excellent video turned out, everything is well thought out, a very clear instruction turned out)))
The vocal echo out is awesome!!!
Thanks Cleveland Terry for this information
About god damn time.Cant wait for the full release.
I'm new ready to support. Love the video
Nice sir may you live long.
Awesome video now one needs a super laptop if you want to do this on the fly with lots of songs ...
Lots of respect from Cameroon
I'm glad to see the update. Will definitely use it. Now we just need availability for multiple streaming services. And of course, an update to library management. I love VDJ's library interface
Yeah, we definitely need new library management. The good news is, they know it needs to happen.
Im here because PDot mentioned you in his channel. Already subscribed to your channel. Thanks for all this information...
I'm excited for the limitless possibilities of mixes and in general how songs will sound
Cool! The seperation sounds good.
Best review hands down 👍👍👍👍👍
As always, everything is super. Waiting for new crack from your team
It sounds pretty good.I will use this but when its a full release .A video on the pad modes would be useful .I mainly use the pads for cue points on my Rane 72mk 2.I would happily switch a mode for this when its out of beta but a video on how to do that would be cool Ta very much.I am very happy they finally got around to it.
I use the stems in DJAY in transitions and some blend attempts. I plan to do the same with Serato 3. I also look forward to trying stems with gospel & CCM tracks. I would love to create a set that sparks more use of DJs during Christian church services
Great review!
It's great that there are people like you.
Thank you.
Great vid ct
The program works great, thanks, post more videos like this
Wow that's a trip. Live wicked mix edits. It cuts out a lot of the frequency content but, it gives it that time stretched sound that I hate. Realistically no one without tuned ears will pick up on it with another track playing but, I for sure wouldn't solo the effect.
This is great, thank you!
Awesome, great video!
Love the review....I am a Serato fan!
appreciate cha bro
Nice. Thanks a lot actually. It worked, you explained it well.
Great Commentary Terry as usual testing it out myself so far the mixer settings do not work with Xdj- Xz they do not work.really need to adjust my curve crossfader adjustment can’t do it right now with this update!
Great review/comparison on this late to the game software update by Serato.
Great point on the rock genre…thank you
I’m definitely all about this. I’ve been using Serato for 15 years now, and I have been wanting this for a while. It’s not likely that I will use the other platforms, and I know that even if Serato is late to incorporate a feature, it still seems to be superior when they do bring it on.
Facts, I've heard people talk about this & that but when Serato puts it in its easier to use an usually better. I just tried the new 3.0 1 click on an analyzed track and you have an accap or a beat no right clicking or folder checking needed.
Thank you for your input
👍
I just found you can ALSO use Parameter buttons on DDJ SR2 for vocal or instrumental isolation. I’m using pads under Sampler.
This might work for other controllers.
I like your presentation style. Right now you have 41.2k subs. I can see this going much higher in no time. Good luck.
Appreciate that!
I mapped my REV7 upper buttons to the stems, very awesome (as long as it sounds good on the track)
What kind of laptop are you using and what are the specs if you dont mind me asking?
I LOVE IT!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Great info
In virtual dj you can pre process and it saves a file next to the track. Right click and batch process stems. I have most of my library pre stemmed batches.
Thank you for this tutorial.
Thank u bro it relly works
As a rookie, I am excited about this!!
thanks you helped me 😍😍😍😍😍
for Beta its sounds pretty good. i can only image in a couple years where it will be.
ITS REALLY WORKED LOL THANK YOU DUDE
Works well!! DANKEEE
...& yes the Serato Sounds more full...now that I hear the contrast between the 2!
Thats dope!!!
Dope video..
on point 💯
Ty Sir
Engineers and software designers always do what you think of LOL. Thanks for the educational vlog.
Really work
Muito bom, vou atualizar. Very good. I will update.
Good video. Just letting you guys know the Traktor was first with this tech. #js
I recommend everything
Super dope!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
@3:35 - yeah that's my impression - I'm like 'oh yeah ok cool - and then what' . 😅 but for real.. I just focus on a great music collection to play for people to dance to..all the chachkies..bells and whistles.. you gotta know your market for that stuff and in my experience.. it's pretty limited.. or limited time in a job. Maybe I'm a traditionalist..but I do love gizmos in the mix , and getting into the core of the production steps involved in this music..bringing it to the DJ.. which I always thought was the basis of the DJ to deconstruct / re-arrange and present on a tasty mix platter for the party guests... :) thanks for the sober video .. I think it does garnish the '3.0' title but it's not the game changer - maybe I'd hype it a bit more if it did have control on the actual board not just touch screen. I'm still waiting for that software from the A-TRAK mixer to be added to the 72 software firmware update.. which was fader effects I think.
Although I will stick with VDj cause it has MUCH better implementation with DENONDJ/enginedj....this is a game changer for seratodjs... salute. Welcome to the party...keep spinning!!
Hi @Cleveland Terry i will like to know before i download that version, does that version come with tempo mach like the previous version??
Yes it's a good look and it's about time ...lord Jezzas
Stem effects is nice
dope !!!!!
Here’s my only gripe when it comes to stems does it have the same affect when you hear most of the instrumentals or when you trying to break down remix to it that’s the thing I always intend to hear
I wonder if all the hardware controls on the Mixon 8 will work with Serato also for STEM MIXING? 🤔
There has always been issues with processed vocals (especially with reverbs) that are problematic and causes artifacts, so we'll see what happens down the line. That said, if anyone can perfect this technology, it would be Serato, who pretty much owned the pitch play space with how so good that technology has been. Given that its Stems is developed in-house, I believe it'll get better. I can't wait to play around with it. If it can do it better and cleaner than anyone else, then I do think it's worthy of this update being 3.0. It's been a really hard technology to try and perfect, so kudos to Serato for doing it. Thanks for the overview!
You need to get your ears checked if you think Serato has perfected their algorithm with PnT. This may have been true 10 years ago, but not any more. The Z Plane Algorithm beats it hands down.
@@thatchinaboi1 My ears are fine, thank you. And all things considered, the PnT tech in Serato DJ runs rings around other comparable DJ software, and even some DAWs. It's done fine for me in my DJ sets, and still does to this day.
@@velanche Nope.
@@velanche I bet you are one of those DJs that leave the pitch lock on by default. 😂
@@thatchinaboi1 When you start to make it personal instead of having a discussion, then I'm no longer going to waste my time with you. Have at it.
Straight, no chaser! 👍🏾
Question is, can one use track from the online playlist of beatsource, spotify, as they are already linked in serato. Can one create stems from tracks on this streaming platforms?
Game changer!
Hahaha. 💯
Lol it’s hilarious caz this is a game nothinger. Not a single DJ will ever care to use this during Live Shows!!! People who’ve never DJed Live do not realize that song selection, reading a crowd, mixing tracks into each other, & holding down the entire operation as the person controlling the music Live for a crowd of people whatever the size is more than enough to manage at the same time. Hitting one wrong button a single time during a live DJ set can and will mess up the entire event!!! Lol this is a very fun and cool feature to mess around with at home to create some cool live mashups/remixes!
This is Great to see!,....I been kinda using this in VDJ....I thought I did something wrong whn I updated last year, cause whn I would load a song...it was analyzing it 👍🤓
no more payment for intro outro edits on bpm supreme - yes this is the future! GREAT JOB and save money!
Hey brother great video. Question… when it’s saves to laptop, can I save the stems & stuff to my portable lacy hard drive? So it’s not actually on my laptop internal drive.
FULL VERSION IS OUT todayy!!! Shaaaaoww!!!!
Wow so good for making crazy remixes 👋😅
Thanks Cleveland forgiven a truthful honest analysis peace
Can you map the functions to an external device like a PIONEER DDJ XP-2??.
I knew 'stems' as a production term. So what I'm gathering it's "Virtual DJ' that made it kind of common vernacular?? I just started hearing people say 'stems' more the last 3 years.. is this why ?
Wow I like serato
Can a stem be saved to a song? Kinda like serato flip? Say I wanna have 1 song that I wanna have acapella out at the chorus... Can I save it to the song and next time I loaded it it will remember that acapella out?
CT.... I think that being a beta it will be a while before I put it in my main laptop but it's going on the backup tonight can't wait.
Just rename your main serato and you can still play with it on your MacBook 14
Boom
I think it can give the user easier access to cross gender mixing and overall a better mixing experience. From what I’ve had time to test it seems really positive. Something worth pointing out, Stems really does take it out of my old i5 processor on the laptop, slowing it right down, so if you are using an older less capable laptop/pc stems will test its ability.
Hi Terry they also need solid wave forms, those jagged lines are hard on your eyes. I have Serato dj pro and Rekordbox dj. Serato sounds better but they have been lazy throughout the years. I prefer Serato but they must move away the sub standard thinking of following rather than leading. If Serato overhaul there dj preferences give more personalized control to djs with Hi or Low end computers, write trace Metadata directly to files. I can go on, but it is a step in the right direction.
great demo my question is what's your computer specs when doing this video. peoples opinions on specs for stems working properly are all over but mostly leading into people buying new computers
Oh how wonderful. Right after Rane stops supporting their SL boxes does Serato add stems. As much as I've been wanting this feature for years, I won't be buying a new mixer any time soon. Kind of a kick in the bearings for DVS SL box users. And yes, I know it's not Seratos fault (that's on Rane) but this still burns.
As an SL4 and DS1 owner, I feel your pain. I have some mixers I love, that will never have integrated DVS functionality. The MODEL 1 from Playdifferently is hardly a budget analog mixer, and has been designed to interface with high end audio cards, but has not built in DVS support for example.
Unfortunately, since RANE was acquired by inMusic, I'm not even sure if there is anything left besides the brand name? inMusic also owns Denon, Numark, Akai, Stanton and more, so they may have a conflict of interest with Serato (e.g. the Denon Prime engine?)?
I'm not sure.
Hopefully Serato can collaborate with another vendor on a high end DVS box? I know the specs on some mixers are much higher than even an SL4 (e.g. instead of 24bit96KHz, some offer 32bit 384KHz now, though 64bit 784KHz gear also exists, I haven't seen such specs built into a mixer and such sound cards tend to be four figures and up still).
How is the clarity of sound vs virtual dj etc? Great work.
It sounds like 144p or livestream video from a Zoom conference. It's a cool feature that might not work well with most commercial music.
Cleveland Terry - What kind of Mic stand are you using and what is it attached/installed to?
Thank you for the video. I do hope no one is still playin these songs at parties or clubs 😂
Timber is one of the hottest records on the bar mitzvah scene.
Looks like Serato reached out to all popular djs on YT to review the beta all on the same day
Anybody knows how to enable PAD mode? I downloaded the beta but did not sign in or own any expansion. Just wondering if you need an expansion for Pad Mode to be enabled.
I’m still using Vestax vci-400 .Is serato 3.0 software work with Vestax vci-400 ?
While there is still some way to go in perfecting the software, Serato is the clear winner hands down by far.
