How to Teach Your Dog Puppy Push Ups

This video gives you a good option for providing mental stimulation to puppies and dogs! Puppy push ups are simply teaching a dog how to sit up from the down command so that they can alternate between sits and downs quickly, kind of like a push up.
This is a fun thing to teach your dog, but it must be done in the right way. If your training is too exciting, you may end up with a dog who is more excitable than when you started. That is contrary to our goals when teaching this command. Our goal is to give a dog a job to do that will allow them to feel fulfilled and calm. If you want your dog’s default setting to be calm, then you need to practice calm training.
We never start this command until a dog has mastered all of the basic obedience commands (Heel, Sit, Stay, Down and Come). Once those have been mastered and your dog is already a good listener, teaching puppy push ups is really easy! If your dog doesn’t listen well, I would take a step back and master the basics first.
