You can tell Dennis Hopper was having a great time being a guest and trying hard not to crack. He really was a hellraiser of the first order...more power to him. RIP!
It's amazing that you recognized that. As church lady might say "Now who was it that caused you to spell his name backwards? Could it be....SATAN? Well, isn't that special?"
Are you talking about people being judgemental? Or something else? Personally: I've seen both. 1:I've seen People that claim to be Christians, but are "Naughty" in their private lives. 2: People that are so judgemental, that they falsely accuse people of things, that the person being accused, isn't guilty of. We've all sinned. We've all fallen short, in one way or another. With the first part of this video, though, The Church Lady was so far out of line, that, had I been that Young Lady, I wouldn't have just told her off, but I would've slapped her so hard, she wouldn't have been able to see straight, for the rest of the day!!!
Thats a very confident well dressed entrancing man visiting Church Lady. I remember a younger Dennis Hopper from movies in my youth, but he is so charming. Thank you for that flashback.
@@buckbundy8642 Nothing can really bring back yesterday's comedy. Also, I really miss Dennis Hopper, he died way too soon and was excellent. His last film was filmed in Boston, he died shortly after. Never forget that. watched all of the stuff on TV before cell phones and the internet and nothing can compare today. Here Here.
sparky thekid It would've been much weirder if they had included the scene where he brutally rapes the lead actor. Lynch cut it because at that time there's no way it would've got just an R rating. Any allusion to a male character being raped by another male, despite the fact this happens every day, had to be only slightly eluded to, like in Lawrence of Arabia when the Turks had their way with him.
Church Lady:"Where, oh, where, do those naughty little urges come from? Could it be...oh, I don't know...let me see... could they be from..... S A T A N?!?!?!?!?!?! Hilarious!!!
MARKOUT TV but if they did that you would be able to watch what you wanted and not have to wade through all the crap and commercials they want you to watch. 🤷🏼♂️ Believe me. I wish they would do that with several different skits.
This brings back alot of memories. This was on my birthday in 8th grade. I had a sleepover and we all gathered around and watched this episode. This episode was the last episode of the 86/87 season. The first season of Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman (RIP), Kevin Nealon, Jan Hooks (RIP) and Victoria Jackson. They were there along with Dennis Miller, Nora Dunn and Jon Lovitz who were the last of the disastrous cast from the season before. I think this cast was the greatest cast they ever had.
Well...after having to put up with "Pat Robertson", "Jimmy Swaggart", "Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker", and even"Saddam Hussein", having Dennis Hopper on her Show must've been a very welcome break!
Dennis Hopper was multi-talented and had many interests. He was a film director, actor, photographer, writer, art collector, and more. He directed films such as Easy Rider, The Last Movie, Out of the Blue, Colors, and many other films.
Mmhmm. You can tell that, right off the bat, when "She" talks about "Bulbous Buttocks" squeezing and releasing, squeezing and releasing...and then relaxing, after "Spending" their "Load". Yep! And there ya have it, folks! Our own little "Church Lady, the "Private Pervert "!!!
Having such great actor on the set as Denny... this sketch could have been fleshed out a great deal... wish we could re-do it. alas... Denny is gone... a great loss... so glad we have this memory of him having fun and getting down with the Church Lady.
What's a sin is how we got a movie called "It's Pat," which was absolute garbage, but never got a Church Lady movie! Who made that decision, who could it have been? I can't think of who. Could it have beeeeen SATAN?
hmmm...what could it have been that made me want to change my cotton pillow cases ? what was it that made me think, i wanna rest my head in as i slide it from side to slide in comfort as i sleep....oh, i dont know...could it beeeeee SATIN ?!
Morel Oral is a show that I hope the writers of this skit and Dana end up seeing some time. I think it really got to the spirit of the Church Lady. Actually I think it even vastly expanded on it with scenes that aren't just comedy or satire but also have profound emotional depth.
Dana Carvey should do a couple of 30 minute Church Lady talk show episodes, celebrities not required, maybe just a guest star here & there. I'm sure he doesn't need the money but I bet a lot of old fans would support it. Nothing like a comedian dressed like an old woman judging people, it'd be a mix of Judge Judy and Jerry Springer 🤣😂
So funny. In all seriousness I am older now and remember when the Church Lady first started. Being Catholic I did attend Mass often. Just can't believe how many problems religion causes psychologically for so many. Just my opinion but always felt God's Love and the peace He gives so freely to those who seek Him. I am not perfect and do not dwell on a pedestal but God has always been there for me. Praying all find Him in their lives. Thank you Dana for the humor and great memories.
Robert Tulibacki - Is it true that Dennis Hopper is no longer with us? I met him in a bar near Taos, NM one night many years ago and danced many hours with him. Then, alas, it was time for me to leave with my friends. I always wondered if I didn't have to leave if I had gotten to know him or something. He was very nice and gentlemanly. Well, I'll never know, sad to say.
Dana Carvey is a treasure, I have watched so many SNL sketches and this guy is the only person that I can see is so fully immersed in his character, you can't recognize him apart from Cecily Strong is a a camelion
I wish Church Chat never stopped. Dana Carvey is a National Treasure.
Dana has brought it back when he hosts or guests in the show, as recently as 2017
Absolutely
He just made another yesterday! 😁
You can tell Dennis Hopper was having a great time being a guest and trying hard not to crack. He really was a hellraiser of the first order...more power to him. RIP!
I love Dennis Hopper's laugh.
I’m surprised that the Church Lady didn’t make a big deal about Dennis Hopper‘s first name being the word “sinned” when it’s spelled backwards.
Yeah! That was remiss of church lady!
Very clever! Well done.

He was obviously having an absolute blast!
@@Agent1W I bet Church Lady would have loved to have had Cassidy on the hot seat. She'd likely have a orgasm scrutinizing his satanic escapades.
I love that Dennis laughed at all the jokes and improv.
me too... that was truly great
And she kept calling him "Danny". Lots of line flubs all around too, I feel like this was under-rehearsed. Still hilarious.
That was real laugh no doubt!

This is a great memory of how awesome SNL has been in the past.
Hilarious! Dennis looked liked he really enjoyed the interview with CL.
Dana Carvey was Brilliant in all of his sketches.
I hope they share the "Cluckin' Chicken sketch" . These old clips are so good to see again, it has been years since i have seen any of these.

Clean clean clean scrub scrub scrub. Dennis cant help but laugh. Best Church Lady ever
Dana Carvey is the best.
This is a classic Saturday Night Live characters.

Marc Roche one of the best ever, for sure.

He sure was.
He was both hilariously hammy, and terrifying.
