I miss those times. I was a kid back then. Christmas was a magical time. Despite my dad beating me regularly with a stick, taking his anger out on me while being browbeaten by a manic depressive wife and mother, I still loved Christmas. My job now is to do better than my father and mother and to raise my children with love, tolerance and understanding. It's great being able to watch and listen to such a great Christmas song in 2024. It certainly takes me back to the 1970's with a sense of nostalgia and pride but also with great horror aswell. Saw Mr. Wood a the Marquee, Wardour Street in 1982 about 4 days before Christmas. Probably the best gig I saw that year - and yes he did this and countless other songs from Wizzard and the Move!
CHRISTMAS IS NEAR 🌌❄️⛄️🎄❤️
A classic christmas tune by Wizzard.....recorded in the heat of summer.....they will have been sweating like mad under the studio lights
I refuse to believe this song came out in '73 and yet it still bangs 49 years later in '22
The kids in that video are parents now and maybe at a push. Grandparents. That's how old this song is. It's crazy still a timeless classic!
😍😍 I love Christmas!!
Someone commenting on one of these threads said their dad was the little boy in the grey jumper!
That's the nature of genius. It never ages.
Slade released Merry Christmas in the same year.
Merry Xmas all this song reminds me of my dad he loved Christmas love and miss you so much dad xxxx
Great song, arguably one of the best xmas songs ever written. Actually recorded in the middle of summertime, when it was 30 odd degrees outside.
1973 record.
I'm locked in a cabin in the middle of a blizzard and this song is stuck on the radio 😱
Best black mirror episode
Sounds awesome 😂
Well, it could be worse! Mariah Carey and All I want for Christmas is you!
I feel like every minute of it was justified and wish we could actually do that to people who deserve it!

Forget Wham!, The Pogues, Mariah... with all due respect to them, great songs, but this is clearly and always will be the best Christmas song.
What a versatile mucician roy wood is still performing today he is awesome brilliant his songs have stood the test of time
This song will always remind me of being a child looking forward to opening my presents on Christmas day. The excitement was just so amazing, I'll never forget that feeling ❤️
Same here but for my own children being young then! Magic!
We have never met, but we share that memory. I remember almost wetting myself to open my presents Christmas morning. I can still hear this song, and my Mum picking up the wrapping as I tore into my presents. My Dad putting some contraption together, I actually know it was the board game “Mousetrap”! I’m 49 years old now, and I still feel that childhood joy. Merry Christmas! 🎄
I used to get the Beano and Dandy annuals and used to secretly bite a corner of the wrapping paper to take a peek before Xmas day. I'm mid 50's now and would still do that!!
@@pommiebears Mousetrap! memories! In the 70s we also had Cluedo, Scrabble, Monopoly, Buckaneer, Kerplunk and the game with the popping dice dome thing in the middle as well as Snakes and Ladders!!
@@Kraggypandapops wonderful memories, simpler times
I can’t stop listening to this😊

Don't worry it's not your fault that this song is so catchy and timeless

Christmas and a lovely one to each and everyone
My favourite Xmas song!! EVER!! A smash hit!! A timeless classic!! 🎄🎁🥳🎄🎁🥳🎄🎁🥳🎄🎁🥳🎄🎁🥳🎄
I love Christmas :)
God bless the wizard (roy wood ) we love you bring back the 70s
2024? Just before Christmas, I haven’t heard this in years. This song makes me so emotional along with I’ll Stand By You. The female lead Chrissie is an incredible singer and the music in the background wow 40 years old goosebumps. You don’t get music like this anymore period.
I don't care that it's October the world is a bit of a depressing place right now with everything happening came here to cheer myself up
Same!
And here too!
Me too❤
Slightly lost the Christmas spirit! I fell and broke my wrist yesterday, and will probably be in plaster until Christmas!
Seeing all the Christmas stuff starting to be sold in shops has got me starting to get excited already and it's only September!!!
Tell me about it!
Almost November now

only just noticed they've got two drummers, needed for this BANGER of a tune
They couldn't quite get the sound they were after with just one set of drums so they decided to go big
Merry Christmas!!
Christmas 2020. I thought it would never arrive, because it heralds 2021, hopefully much better than the worst year in memory we have all suffered. Merry Christmas to one and all!
Thank you noel to you as well
been listening to this for 1,400,000 years🔥🔥🔥
1973 record.
This has always been my favorite Christmas song. Even when i was a kid. This one has Christmas enbedded into it , the smell and the giddyness of Christmas eve still rushes into my heart when this comes on.
It's 25 October 2023, so I'm early to the party! Hello all!
@@carolroberts4614 Happy Christmas Carol!!
And the same to you! It's still Halloween here in the UK for another 20 minutes, where are you, David?
@@carolroberts4614 eyyy I'm in the UK too haha , it's now the 1st of November!!
Hi! On the South coast here, overlooking the Isle of Wight! Got some windy and rainy weather here!
A Christmas classic, like all the other songs of the time, it never ages Merry Christmas Everyone!!
Born in 2000 and still dancing to the greatest Christmas song of all time.
Nice man, born in 1999 and just discovered this. What a banger.
Simply the best Christmas song ever.
I agree.
It’s quite technical

Totally upbeat and over the top, typical wizzard , 70’s and perfect Christmas song
When stars align and Christmas songs are born! This is an absolute classic 🎉
