I thought I was the only one that said the same thing!
I think back in her time, during her prime, it would've been blasphemous to refer to anyone as the "Queen of Christmas", because that would be the Virgin Mary if anyone, and of course the Prince/King of Christmas is Jesus. Nowadays people couldn't give a shit about religion so "Queen of Xmas" is okay for Mariah.
Don't know she never got the recognition she deserved. Compared with most of the shit out there...
It is wierd that she wrote two of the best Christmas songs ever and barely got noticed - at the time I guess home alone 2 was considered too over the top and an inferior sequal so no one really re watched it, but now there are tons of far crappier home alone movies it now ranks a solid number 2 in the franchise and people have realised it had this great song attached.

Growing up in the 80's and 90's was so incredible. Movies and music these days just doesn't sound the same as they did back then , maybe it's just me , I don't really know. Im 20. When listening to this i remember back when i was a little kid and i realize something is different. Back then, christmas and New Years Eve had something so special. The world was so great, so quiet, so safe in my little mind. I woke up on Christmas and it felt so amazing. I ran to my parents and went crazy when i saw the presents, the tree, the snow. Everything. This is one awesome Christmas song that touches the heart. So many good memories during the 90’s. Family and friends were able to visit with love ones so much fun playing games laughing exchanging gifts. Not to mentioned the country food my mother served as a traditional family and friends gathered for A Merry Christmas Festivities dinner. My sweet loving mother life expired last year 2020 God called for my mother to enter into his home. God knows best but I misses her so much it hurts to the core of your heart when you loses your mother. So, for each and everyone reading this message if your mother is still alive please enjoy every special moment with her.
You can always find consolation within any situation when you go to God and mommy. How many people are passing out gifts to show love not expecting a return gift? God has many blessings for you all.!

I've only ever heard this song in Home Alone. Never have I heard it play on mainstream radio. It's such a shame because to me I rate it as my favourite Christmas song just ahead of Fairytale of New York. It's got such a great message to it and the saxophone part is incredible!

It makes sense since this song was made for Home Alone 2. Given the sound of it, I originally thought this was from the 60s or 70s when I first heard it, so it was a pleasant surprise to find this was made in 1992.
That said, I'm surprised this was not as big of a hit as All I Want for Christmas is You. This is a much better song.
