- Mega Man has seen some really odd spinoff games over the years, and I'm not just talking about Mega Man subseries such as Mega Man X, Mega Man Zero, or even the Battle Network or Legends games.
Today we're diving into the world of the WEIRD Mega Man spinoff games - from virtual board games to soccer to racing to even a full-blown Mega Man RPG! So, today on RETROspective, let's take a look at some rather odd entries from the Mega Man series' past!

I mean, Mega Man Zero takes place _several_ centuries after Mega Man X, as opposed to Command Mission's _single_ century, so
I thought it was confirmed that the Zero series takes place 100 years after the X series, with the Elf Wars shenanigans happening in-between?
@@StuffWePlay mega man x command mission is a alternate universe. X6,7,8 are all canon, command mission is not.

as 8-bit Deathmatch fangame shown, Mega Man wouldn't be bad in first person shooter. actually he would be great as the game shown.

About the twist villain,
Hollywood: Hehehe, ain't that cute, BUT IT'S WROOOOONG!
At the start of the final chapter Chief R is shot repeatedly and dies and it's revealed that Spider was Redips in disguise, the palindrome name should have given that away, along with the fact the boss rush consists of the bosses we fought in chapters 2 through 6. And Redips was the twist villain.
Great video as usual. Any reason why Legends is not in there? Or are those games not really a spin offs? Or is that going to be the next Mega video? :)

4:21 The goalkeeper ai is really really bad. What killed the fun of this game was once I figured how to exploit the goalie to score every single time: you just approach them while zigzagging and they'll leap to one side of the goal, then you can just shoot at the center and you're guaranteed to score.
First of all, awesome video! After getting a PS2 recently, I have been THOROUGHLY enjoying Mega Man Battle & Chase. :) Already collected all the car parts using Mega Man, Bass, and Proto Man. Working on completing it with Roll currently. May try it with a couple of the other Robot Masters too.
I am curious about one thing though... Is there any official source (in-game, in a user manual, etc.) that explicitly states that the Mega Man Zero games take place in the 22XX era? So far, everything that I've seen in the games themselves seem to indicate that the MMZ games take place "100 years after the Maverick Wars". That is, they take place 100 years after the "Mother Cyber Elf" is created and X somehow uses it to neutralize, nullify, delete, and/or otherwise reprogram-out-of-existence the last remnants of Sigma's data (whether it be in the Maverick/Sigma virus, and/or the New Generation Reploid Copy Chips that also contain Sigma's DNA Soul data). I haven't seen anything official, as of yet, that states X used the Mother Elf in 21XX. However, if you or your fans do know of a source, I will gladly stand corrected.
Oh yeah, and also being a fan of the Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior(/Quest) games myself, I also thoroughly enjoyed Mega Man X: Command Mission!
For the X series timeline. Personally I believe that the ZERO series takes place after ZERO's ending in Rockman X6 with the latter half of the X series taking place after X's ending.

Also, are X7 and X8 even canon to the rest of the series? I don't think Axl is mentioned once in the Zero series!
@@StuffWePlay Well... In Mega Man ZX: Advent, which takes place centuries after the Mega Man Zero series... it is... kind of very loosely hinted that Biometal Model A could be based on Axl. Similar personality and voice acting, and similar but more powerful A-Trans ability... However, a human or Reploid Megamerged with Model A is not able to hover, aim in different directions with a standard attack, nor able to perform a roll, but curiously can use a Charged Buster Gun attack. Of course, we still don't know what happened to Axl's internal systems after the cliffhanger that X8 ended on, or if that might somehow explain how Axl was able to copy HUGE boss forms in Command Mission. Ah, the things we just won't know until Capcom decides to finally start making some more sequels instead of making remake after remake after remake...
I'd personally like to think that X7 and X8 are indeed canon... however I do know from Inafune's notes in the Mega Man X Official Complete Works, he considered the X series ended with X5.

@@StuffWePlay Also, I didn't even know Victoria existed before finding out you were there. I was quite surprised that the B.C. capital was not Vancouver and that it's positioned at the very southmost of the province, close to Seattle, which I guess explains why it's there.
