They look so much better like that. IMO when they dress up full makeup etc especially Paul has such a fake look. Here they look more comfortable and relaxed
Maybe a bit if a weird question, but could anyone tell me how the sound check works? Do you get to stay at the stage till the actual performance? Or do you have to go back out and let the “early entry” ticket holders in?
You have to go outside the arena when it finishes and come back for the general doors. In verona the italian security hadn't been warned about that and the soundckeck began 3 hour late. Basically when the soundcheck was finsishing people without VIP package was already getting in... and that's been positive 'cause i had a last-row ticket and all this mess allowed me to attend the show from the front row.
You play something, anything and let the technicians do their job,so can hear yourself and the other guys, the Stones roadcrew do the SC ,they know the songs and what the Stones expect to hear. If you go on stage for even 50 people and the sound is a mess, you are dead.
Somebody help me understand something? I haven’t been to concert (of any kind) since the 1996 KISS reunion tour. Is it me? Or have they made changes to the rules (or whatever) about how loud the music can be? Where is the gigantic speaker cabinets and multiple amps with the gigantic PA system) Bottom line - are concerts still powerfully loud (because that makes the experience what it is)(my opinion) Or has something forced changes? Thanks!
The music is still loud, at all of the rock concerts that I've seen in the past years even though KISS is slightly on the quieter side. The reason that it may seem like it's more quiet is that mobile phones are so good nowadays that they pickup the talking almost just as well as the music. They are also screaming as loud as they can. Phones also lower the volume when the bass or kick drum kicks in to avoid distortion. This venue is also really old and from my understanding it had really weird rules. For example you weren't allowed to stand at all for some reason, so maybe they were told to lower the volume too. But as you can see there is barely enough roof to hold all the lights so maybe they couldn't bring a bigger PA. The reason for the missing amps behind them is that they simply wanted a more interesting stage dressing. This was also the "soundcheck" V.I.P Package for around 100 people so maybe they lower the volume because of that too.
Id rather see them tour like this then with the make up. Pauls voice isnt great but, its enough to get by. Eric and Tommy in someone elses make up and they dont look that great in the costumes. Reminds me of kiss Mcfarlane figures that came out around Psycho Circus
