INCREDIBLE. UNBELIEVABLE. THE MASTERPIECE OF IAN ANDERSON. I WONDER, GUYS, HOW MANY HUNDREDS OF HOURS YOU WERE REHEARSING... IT IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From sunny North Wales! Bit of a Tull stronghold here, or what’s left of us! I play a bit, so I know, bloody complex music! As you said rehearse time and dedication off the scale! Not to mention that thing call talent! FANTASTIC!
What i wouldn’t give to have a DVD of the 1972 concert that i attended. I was on the 5th row on the floor center. These were fold up chairs and after everyone scooted up a little closer i was about 25 feet from the stage. I had just turned 21 years old. Over all these years and the 100’s of concerts i have attended, Thick as a Brick 1972 stands above them all.
Makes Ian look like a badass. The way he performs onstage is so capturing and the fact that he’s doing incredible with his instruments while being so hyper!
Best Ian vocals I've ever heard. Congrats on your excerpts and how you covered this magnificent piece of music. Utterly listenable more than any other. TAAB Unplugged!
I had the pleasure of playing bass with Paul in “The Jethro Tull Experience”. He is the real deal and absolutely channels Ian when he is on stage with his authentic accent (he’s a Brit), vocals, flute playing , guitar playing and, when in character, the look. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that he also fronted a Rolling Stones tribute and perfectly nailed Mick Jagger as well. Talented musician along with his wife, Marcy, who is a fantastic flautist, drummer and vocalist.
I am now 68, four and one year later, respectively, after the two previous posters, and I’m still in agreement. The band in ‘71, ‘72 & ‘73 was staggeringly great! I hope you, nevrens, and you @petermalfratti7064 are still rocking as we head into our dotage. You’re never too old…
What can I say that hasn't already been said here. As a self taught musician and aficionado, all I can say about TAAB is that for the last 50+ years no performance/recording has had such a predictably exhilarating effect on me than JT's original acetate rendition. Only thing that comes dangerously close is Ludwig Van's 9th! And you have somehow you two have achieved a remarkable, probably unmatched facsimile. Amazingly faithful, respectful vocals. I feel such a kinship with both of you! Thank you.
What an incredible vocal.....I've always imagined Ian's voice would be hard to reproduce but you absolutely did!! Great performance ftom you both. Thanks!
This is what I call a great cover, one that shows a meticulous detail to remain true to the original style. The instrument mastery is pretty obvious, and perfectly made to cover Ian.
Not only does the singer capture more than a touch of Ian's madness, he sounds like Ian too - something about the effects or EQ on the mic. Good guitar work, too. Well done, son - well done!
I thought it was a tape of Anderson singing until I saw Paul actually singing. Listening to this cover underlines what a phenomenal song writer Anderson is. As for Marcie's flute playing, it may lack Anderson's attack, but that is well made up for by her beautiful lines.
Absolutely lovely!! These two solve my greatest issue with live Tull over the past 50 years: a lot of the wonderful flutes lines go missing during performance because Ian can’t both sing and play flute at the same time!!! Such a wonderful piece of music! Hope I’m hearing it for another 40!!
Over fourty years ago when I was in tenth grade in High school my history teacher made the class listen to the whole " Songs From the Wood" album ( he was a big fan ) and I liked one of the songs , so I bought the album and it's been one of my favorite bands ever since , and this couples version of this song is quite good .
This is the one tribute band that I thought that I would never see, and I've seen a lot of them. Because there is a certain kind of complexity to this music, and instrumentation, that it would take a very unique talent to reproduce this sound. This is very impressive work by this band. I would think Ian Anderson would be amazed at how well his music and legacy is commemorated through this band's performance.
Hello, everyone! Jumping in once again to thank all who have listened and left their lovely comments recently. Paul and I are very grateful for the positive feedback! We hope in the months to come, to record some more acoustic covers of Jethro Tull music and post it here. Paul has also been meaning to record some instructional videos and hopefully you'll see some of that too. In the meantime, let me know in the comments which songs from the classic era you'd like for us to cover! And... if you haven't already done so - we'd love for you to subscribe to the channel!
Heard this song when I was 10. The year it was released. My friends sister had good taste in music. Been a Tull fan ever since. Great job. I mean excellent!!!!!!
I see the last comment was 9 months ago. I have only just heard of you two and played this. It is staggering. Oh what music to my ears. I saw Tull in Norwich UK YEARS back. The small venue went black and as the lights came up Ian emerged from this little tent on stage. It was a brilliant night. Now I am 70 and you brought back so many memories. Doing this song you are Ian with wild eyes .Wonderful guitar work and flute and that voice. It IS Ian. Thank you for giving me so much joy. Good luck in all that I hope you’re still doing.
The Bard is back! I’m not sure you two shouldn’t be touring the English countryside and playing field parties! Hahahaha. Man this shoots the arrow right into the bullseye of a perfect rendition.
Phenonenal! A flutist friend (RIP) and i used to do similar parts of this suite at local bars while the rabble booed us and screamed for lynyrd skynyrd and mettallica! You two sound great and i liked the Aqua Lung Ending. Cheers from Buffalo NY
A time when instruments had to be played. Poetry to music. Old age is the price we pay for being there when this music was new and first played. A price well paying. Well done again, excellent.
What do I think?..... AWESOME!!! BEYOND BELIEF!!! And that goes for all the songs Paul's band does. There does not seem to be any limitation to what Paul's band is doing with Jethro Tull's music. I would like to see a couple of songs from the album, "Songs from the Wood", if you happen to see this comment. Thanks for all the great music from this legendary band.
LOL. Thanks. :-) Actually, Ian sort of "hired" Paul for this concert way back when. Check Paul out in his full IA tribute mode. ua-cam.com/video/dFDUC87pmh4/v-deo.html
It is amazing what you can discover on UA-cam...the first band i ever saw when i was 15 in liverpool in 72 i think. I was the only boy in school who got a ticket. The band appeared on stage as radiés then opened with the nearly release thick as a brick. My dad was horrified when he picked me up with all the long hair!. Lovely version here ...an unexpected please to come across..
How does he sound EXACTLY like Ian? That’s crazy!!! 😲
The million dollar question. 😉
2 years and still come here to hear you again! :-)
Wow, I didn't expect this... I thought how dare anyone attempt to cover a Tull song. But, I am astounded, this is immaculate. Absolutely magnificent !
My very thoughts...they really do the song justice! Paul even gets some of Ian's eye gestures in there! Nicely done, Paul & Marcie!
wow...most excellent guitar work - - thanks...flute was a nice touch.....
It's just........(speachless)!!! Thank you!
Brilliant you two! Excellent!!
Incredible
Thank you so much
Wow, what a wonderful cover! Absolutely breathtaking!👌
Fantastic
Superb. The playing, phrasing and pace are spot on. Really top notch.
Fabulous!
INCREDIBLE. UNBELIEVABLE. THE MASTERPIECE OF IAN ANDERSON.

Voice is spot on, and the head movements and shifty eyes are just like Ian too..... Plus the flute. Nice job.
That's what caught my eye too, shifty, beady eyes basturd, lol, Love It !~
Makes Ian look like a badass. The way he performs onstage is so capturing and the fact that he’s doing incredible with his instruments while being so hyper!
Well heck you got this down. When you got to "Do you believe in the day?" I was completely entranced.
This is just impossible. Such beauty, my god.. You two are IT... Feels like i am witnessing a miracle...
Thank you for the lovely comment!
Bravo, !!!! Excellent job. You both play and sing beautifully.!!!!
When I hear music this pure, this beautiful, this genuine, I am overwhelmed with unspeakable emotion, and I end up crying.....
Classic
Good God, this is absolutely great.
Thanks so much!
Best Ian vocals I've ever heard. Congrats on your excerpts and how you covered this magnificent piece of music. Utterly listenable more than any other. TAAB Unplugged!
This is absolutely wonderful.
holy sheet! I was definitely not expecting anything this good!
His voice is spot on. And great guitar and flute. Well done. Splendid.
Don't normally last through Tull "tributes" but you two are great. I would pay money to see you. Keep Tulling.

I've loved the music of Tull since my teens (I'm 68 now). They're one of my all time fave bands.
I too am 68
I am now 68, four and one year later, respectively, after the two previous posters, and I’m still in agreement. The band in ‘71, ‘72 & ‘73 was staggeringly great!
I hope you, nevrens, and you @petermalfratti7064 are still rocking as we head into our dotage. You’re never too old…
Excellent
Oh my gosh. The voice is identical to that of Ian. How is that possible? What an impeccable performance. I hope Ian hears this...
I want a DVD of this. A beautiful performance
Really good cover. My compliments sir.
Tull.... Most underrated band in history. Brilliant!!!
Superb!! Absolute perfection 😊. Thank you both for this outstanding and wonderful performance.
Speechless. Thank you!
I just love this performance.
Amazing! thank you

Mind Blown!! Great performance; several times I anticipated Martin and Barrie kicking in. Great work!!!
well done!!
I watch and listen to this several times a month. It just sounds good to my ears and I truly enjoy it. If there is a CD I would buy it!
Truly phenomenal.
I thought it was a tape of Anderson singing until I saw Paul actually singing. Listening to this cover underlines what a phenomenal song writer Anderson is. As for Marcie's flute playing, it may lack Anderson's attack, but that is well made up for by her beautiful lines.
Just stunningly beautiful. Thank you
How absolutely wonderful

Even Ian had his limits. You'd think if anyone could figure out how to sing and play multiple flute parts simultaneously, it would be him.
Thank you for this wonderful presentation of Jethro Tull
Everything about this is amazing. Thank you.
Thank you, Greetings from EAST- Berlin. ❤❤❤
I love that he can imitate Ian’s mannerisms. You really sold it! Nicely done!
You’ve made a new fan today.
You made my heart smile and swell. Then tears of joy filled my eyes and ran down my face.❤️🔥💖🫶

I pcked up my old beat up guitar and played along with you guys < thank you this 6 string still has a heartbeat in it !
THANX , IT'S OUTSTANDING , THE VERY BEST EVER VOCAL AMONG ALL TULL' COVERS !!!!!!!!
Just seen this. Absolutely brilliant both of you. Superb playing and singing.😃
Why..........Has it taken me sooo long to hear this!!
I'm a fan right off. Hats off to you, Madame and Sir. Well Done!!!!!
What a performance and quality of the song. Thanks for sharing.

@@dbelex Me too! I was 11 at the time. Changed my life forever. 😊
If i had any musicial talent to build up a Jethro Tull Cover Band. My choice is your vocals. Never thought i say this. I love Ian.

What an outstanding performance by both of you! Just loved it. TAAB unplugged!
Outstanding, took me back to the days of my youth
Brilliant edit! To me the best parts of the song. Acoustic only.
Brilliant and beautiful! Thanks to you both.
Well thought, this magnificent work can be sttriped down to a guitar, a voice and a flute.
Best JT cover I’ve ever seen (heard)
Love your to homage to Tull. Your are both great.
This is superb, the best out there. Unfortunately Ian can't sing like that for many years. Thank you so much!
no easy task...love the "side two" version...believe in the day
The Bard is back! I’m not sure you two shouldn’t be touring the English countryside and playing field parties! Hahahaha. Man this shoots the arrow right into the bullseye of a perfect rendition.
I’ve been aTull fan forever and this is awesome
One of the best... maybe the BEST cover I've ever heard!
Astounding! A wonderful performance. Unmatched on UA-cam.
Phenonenal! A flutist friend (RIP) and i used to do similar parts of this suite at local bars while the rabble booed us and screamed for lynyrd skynyrd and mettallica! You two sound great and i liked the Aqua Lung Ending. Cheers from Buffalo NY
Thanks so much for the kind comment and so sorry for the loss of your friend. 🌷
That was awesome! Hit on all my favorite parts of the song!
A time when instruments had to be played. Poetry to music. Old age is the price we pay for being there when this music was new and first played. A price well paying. Well done again, excellent.
In Jethro Tull sehe ich eine der besten Top 3 Bands der Welt ! Top Coverband !!!❤❤❤
Incredible!! You nailed it. Voice, expressions and movements. Flute great too.

Wonderful !!!!!❤❤❤
Brilliant cover well done from a huge Jethro Tull fan
I often come back here to hear this masterpiece again and again... wonderful!
One of the best covers - wonderful music - had the pleasure seeing you in Huntington New York 2014!
Amazingly beautiful
Made my day
Thank you ❤❤🎉🎉
Very good, congrats! Jethro Tull forever. Paul and Marcie Forrest they're wonderful. By Milton for Brazil.
Wish Ian would hire these two for future concerts. Marcie plays the flute, Paul sings and Ian could just stand on one leg.
LOL. Thanks. :-) Actually, Ian sort of "hired" Paul for this concert way back when. Check Paul out in his full IA tribute mode. ua-cam.com/video/dFDUC87pmh4/v-deo.html
I literally LOL'd at the standing one one leg comment
@@Fun_in_retrospect :)
Ian can still play flute and guitar, he just can't sing
@@AK99581
But can he still stand on one leg?
I come again to listen and watch and enjoy
Thanks, Steven. You are always welcome . 🤗
Awesome performance they really gave this beautiful song its full credit for a time we feel we are hearing Ian Anderson
That performance is just incredible. Took me straight back to early '72, when I first heard this.
Wow! Very Impressive! I can't believe the vocals...excellent guitar playing...and as for Marcie...her flute playing is so spot on!
belleza , dignisimos musicos para interpretar este cover 😍😍😍😍😍!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really nice job!!!! … saw the band in ‘71 (Athens, Ohio)
Absolutely fantastic
