Thanks buddy, still gutted about that one but hopefully there will be another one waiting next season. Need to get some fishing organised next season 😉
@@Hookedonfly I’m the same as you Tam, I want to have a crack at the grayling also, never fished for them before but a pal of mine has quite alot of experience fishing for them so hoping he won’t mind me tagging along with him one day for them! Also would like to try a bit more sea fishing too during the winter
Great, I’m sure you will get few of them. Winter sea fishing sounds good, that’s when the big fish is kicking about right? I need to get sea trout another go next season, still want to get one
Thanks for sharing your season Tam. It's been a good watch. We've all been taken by surprise when a rock turns into a fish. I'm looking forward to your next season as well as my own. I'll be on Tweed in February.
Aw mate, unlucky. That looked like a big thumper. Great video again! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching your adventures this season! Thanks for sharing with us 🤘🎣
you should do more double spey casts feels like your missing out half the glide and just fishing the same seems really, connecting with fish though so doing something right im no expert with a flea rod tight lines sam
Hi Sam, yes I do miss some of the water there but that is from purpose. The water there is little funny, this was the best way for me to keep the fly when I wanted it.
Real pity losing that big fish Tam! Is that one of the Greys GR60 salmon rods you are using? Good rods. A little heavier than some of the more expensive ones but powerful and handle any type of line or style of cast well. I have two of them I use regularly.
Thanks. Yes, it’s GR 60 indeed. Really like the rod and how you said really powerful and easy caster. I actually needed to warranty it just after 5 months of use as the cork was in pretty bad shape all ready.
You've obviously been watching me too much on how to loose fish 😂. Unlucky on loosing that one hopefully there is another one waiting for you next year. I've only fished the Tweed once and it's definitely a river I want to fish again.
Haha well I learned from the best 😂 Hope you had a good season mate. Tweed is great river to fish for sure, worth the trip. Where is it you normally fish again?
@Hookedonfly I'm normally up the north of Scotland on the Findhorn and Beauly. If I caught as many as I have hooked this year it would have been not too bad a season. Onto the pike and perch now for the winter. No grayling near me unfortunately.
Findhorn is meant to be amazing, need to make a trip out there sometime. Seen a lot of videos and it looks fantastic! Haha yeah I know how you fell but it’s good to get some action on the day even if it doesn’t end up in the net. Good luck with the pike 👍
@@Hookedonfly thank you. I'm waiting to hear back from the guys I had on the Findhorn last year. I've got a week booked in again in September for the whole week for 6 rods.
Billy, thanks for watching 👍 The river is still open even now. I’m not saying that I would go and fish it now but don’t see the issue with having a go beginning of November.
Hi Tam, Have really enjoyed watching your video’s I think you have had quite a decent season Tight Lines for 2025… Can you tell me what Line you are fishing with.. 👍👍👍
Hi Harry, I’m glad you like the videos. Yeah, I’m happy with my first season but I have much to learn. Hope you had a good season as well. I’m using RIO outbound elite, fantastic line 👍 Tight lines
unlucky mate, it looked like a foul hooked fish, I've done it before, its the way they fly downstream instantly, I foul foul hooked a 5 pound grilse when I was younger and I swear I thought it was a 30 pounder
Thanks for watching mate. I think it was hooked fine but it pulled the hook out when it was jumping and head shaking. When it was going mad and jumping it looked huge.
Using your index finger to pin the line against the rod when a fish is taking line is a BIG mistake. Use the check of the reel to fight a fish-- keep your hands and fingers off the line …any type of lurching pressure on the rod or the line during a fight usually ends up with a long face…
The reason I was holding the fish back is because if it would go down the rapids I would never got it back up as there is no access. But you are right no finger needed, I still doing it cos of my trout fishing days. File is actually great idea, I will get one for next season. Thanks for watching, tight lines 👍
Unlucky Tam, that would have been an absolute belter! You have had a great season, hoping the same for next year too mate! 🤘🏻🎣
Thanks buddy, still gutted about that one but hopefully there will be another one waiting next season.

@ I bet Tam, it looked like an absolute beauty! And definitely mate, what type of winter fishing do you do Tam?
I usually take a break from fishing but I’m pretty keen on having a go for Grayling this winter.
What about your self?

Hope to see some of that on your channel btw 😉

As always, it's an awesome video. Sorry about the fish that comes off. 👍👊
Thanks very much 👍
That’s fishing, I will get the next one 👊
Excellent as ever Tam
Thanks very much 👍
Good video. I like fishing a Junction Shrimp at this time of year.
Thanks 🙏
Good stuff, I have few of them in the box may need to give it a go next season.
Nice catch
Thanks 🙏

@Hookedonfly Ah pity, the cork on both mine has been good. Glad you were able to claim on the warranty.
Maybe I was just unlucky, good rod anyway

Wow full week of fishing is hard work!
I do two days and I’m dead 😂
Tam, the season is over weeks ago, you shouldn't be hunting those auld crocs, after all they are the key to your future sport.
Billy, thanks for watching 👍

Tight Lines...👍👍
No problem, will do 👊
Unlucky
Are you going to try the trout fishing at kalizie and film it?
Yeah maybe, I didn’t actually thought about that one.
You made a total arse of that. lol "I thought I was stuck." Yeah! On a 30-40 pounder. But not for long.
Haha no arguments there 😂
Good to get the big boy on even for few seconds, hopefully the next one will be in the net.
Gutted you lost that fish
You made damn sure that hook was set 🤣🤣🤣
That was a Bass fishing hook set,
I can’t believe it still got away 😂
Hook sharpen needed.
It definitely does!
Need get sharpener for new season
Trying to speak with a scottish accent doesent suit but
Mate, that’s a weird comment.
I’ve been living in Scotland for 17 years now, if you don’t like it just hit the mute button
Haha thanks 👍
