That's a belter of a fish caught in one of the most fishy bits of water I have seen in a long time. When I used to fish in the Western Isles of Scotland on the lochs for Salmon & Sea Trout the locals talked about a Salmon Wave on the water if there was a good blow it was better for catching Salmon. Those opening shots of the wave on the lough reminded me of those times as after two years I was back on the Mainland. I to be fair preferred going after Sea Trout and had a day on North Harris Estates and the two of us on the boat had over 50 Sea Trout. That was just one of those perfect days never to be repeated. I did however have a couple of Salmon but lost track of the number of Sea Trout I had in 2 years. Tight Lines.

That brings back memories of Fourty years ago. I was fishing in the Aare in Berne Switzerland. I used dead minnows for catching the big trouts. Then I sas something jumping three feet away from me. It was a cold and miserable day and there were no insects to be seen. I let the minnow pass where the jump had happened. Less than a foot from the shore. Then I was stuck! I pulled hard two times thinking I was hooked to a log. Suddenly, incredibly heavy and slowly the giant fish went down into a very deep hole. I never thought of a trout and I was sure I had hooked a big pike. After holding the line straight there was a knocking towards the bottom of the hole. After ten minutes the fish came up: I saw a giant tail and beautiful red spots! I started shivering: It was the ultimate mother of all brown trouts. I am sure it was bigger than the one in the this video clip. I did not even know that the brown trouts could reach those enormous sizes in our river. I got so nervous and took my time and at the end I finally saw a bench where I could land the monster. I pulled it closer and closer and less than four feet from me the fish got free. I tried to jump after it but the monster was still to fast. I had an extremely strong line and a new triple hook. The triple hook looked as it someone had turned it with a plier and then strechted out the hooks with big force. I never heard of such a trout in our river system ever again.

After tha I remembered that about two years before I had been snorcheling near this corner. I saw a nearly black, fat and amazingly big trout sitting at the bottom. It kind of reminded me of an oversized toad.Maybe that ws the one I hooked two years later. Thanks for sharing! There is a rmountain river in Switzerland where brown trout can get HUGE. There was one under a bridge that was spottet for years. Someone claimed it swas close to 1 meter. Ate the end of it's life span a fish guardian saw it old, blind and dying. He went to fish it out with his net and made a mercy killing It was more than 1 meter long, I do know the exact number. I was amazed that trout do not get very old. After a few years they get old and sick. Normally they die before they are six years old. At least that what I was told by a Biologist.

My heart was beating fast. My blood pressure was high. Then i started to lose my energy. When i try to walk my legs felt heavy and my stamina went very bad also. Then i started losing my sleep. Eventually i crashed a little into the road and asked God and Jesus to help. Finally I started to run in the toilet all the time too. Then the very awful thing came. I lost fastly almost all my ability to sleep and I started to loose my weight. Blood came out of my nose and I started to lost my hairs too. I visit hospitals and private hospitals too but they couldn't help me. They gave me beta blockers to my heart and finally medicine to my high blood pressure too. I wanted to get inside the hospital but they refused to take me in. In private hospitals they couldn't understand why they dont take me in the main hospital. Finally I contact to other country and I asked can you take me in the hospital. Then they asked where are you here? I told im in the other country and I need a help. But they told me we cant take you in because you dont live here. So I can tell you money didnt help me. Later I told my family im gonna die very soon because I felt completely awful. Finally I asked again God to help me. Then finally my Mother saw one Angel vision and three Jesus vision. After that it took few days and my health came back. I got my sleeping back and my heart started to calm down. I started to gain weight. Blood pressure went back to normal and finally I got all my hairs back. This Is very short version what happend to me but I was close to death. God Is real and loves us very much. When you begin to seek God you Will find True love. Read the Bible too please because its a perfect book. Thats how you know God Is real💕🙏. Read what Jesus told because its perfect talking💕🙏

There’s a lot of algae in the lough at the moment and I wonder if it will impact the breeding process, hopefully the zebra mussel can be kept out
