When I first started on trombone, I did my best to learn & memorize James Pankow’s licks (esp the tag from ‘Does Anybody Really Know What Time it is?’). I’d play along with the recording’s s well.

What power and attack! Forever envious of you guys that hit that high stuff and master it.
I am listening more to big band music and man did those backup trumpet players have power and range and effortless musicality-taken for granted by many listeners.
Still in my infancy of trumpet playing now hitting 3 octaves of C.
