      yes, the only thing i saw NOBODY could cover on youtube. A few made attemps but not the whole thing. It‘s the best Guitar Jam i ever heard and there are so many emotions in it. I think even John couldn‘t do it again lile that, unless he is very heartbroken and twisted again like he was in 2007.

      @@blackwolf4653 no doubt, it’s awesome. I tried to cover it may times and I can’t get the same feel. It’s definitely a moment in time captured, never to be duplicated the same way.
      That era of John was great for us listeners, even though he was torn apart supposedly..

      The fina jam should be played to the aliens when they arrive. Thats how good it is. Greatest 12 min in music history

    It’s funny because Justin Hawkins says the exact opposite, he doesn’t rate Frusciante as a guitarist at all and says that he is purely technical and plays with no feel. I couldn’t disagree with Hawkins more

    • @frusciantegeartone
      @frusciantegeartone  7 місяців тому +3

      Yea Hawkins is a good teacher and that’s about it. He’s so technical but I’ve never loved any solo he’s ever played. They sound just like the record. Which is fine, but frusciante has more feel than Hawkins could dream of.
      This is all subjective of course..

      Imagine asserting that a master funk guitarist has "no feel" in their playstyle...
      Hawkins is clearly butthurt.

    If I remember correctly he was ranked 18th just a few years ago which I thought was fair. I wonder what bumped him to 25th. Regardless nice video. John is such a good guitarist.

    John Frusciante is better than Tom Morello soo far, JF is on my top 15 or 10! He lives in another planet, so much feeling involved when is playing guitar, nowadays (Stadium Arcadium Era - Today) he controls the technique better

    I don't know if he is #25 maybe #125. He is like a poor poor poor mans SRV. Well if SRV was sloppy.

    Frusciante is quite overrated. For sure he'd make my list of 250, but he'd be nowhere near the top 100. I just have never loved The RHCP's music that much, and I am almost 48, so I grew up with it in highschool, am quite familiar with it, and it's just okay, while some songs are downright bad or obnoxious and annoying in my opinion. I hear nothing in his playing that tells me he is a better player than any of his 90's guitar playing contemporaries from similar type bands of that era such as: Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, or Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, or Johnny Greenwood of Radiohead, or Adam Jones of TOOL, or Kim Thayil of Soundgarden, or Billy Corgan Smashing Pumpkins, or Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction, or Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine. None of those players I listed would make my top 50 except maybe Johnny Greenwood, and many would still not even make my top 100.

      He’s definitely not for everyone! Justin Hawkins from The Darkness is not a big fan either he said on his channel. I get it but just disagree. It’s art and everyone views art differently. The list you gave are bands I like too but they don’t give me the same feeling John does. I think the best way to describe John is simplicity and bouts of high and low emotionial roller coasters followed by watching yourself “ugly cry” in the mirror, and then going to the beach and taking a deep breath looking at the ocean and realizing everything is ok, and then laughing about it while dancing the most ugly and care free moves like nobody or everybody is looking.

      Agreed. I think they tried to balance record sells with technical ability but failed. Guthrie govan wasn’t on the list and he’s amazing. But he doesn’t have lots of records so who knows…

    The people who hate on frucsiante are the same people who hate on Hendrix I feel, if you look at his solo work I think that’s where I have more of an appreciation for frucsiante, when you listen to his solo stuff it’s raw and real and emotional like this guy in the video says . I say top 10 with just his solo work alone.

    • @frusciantegeartone
      @frusciantegeartone  5 місяців тому

      I agree. I feel John is a “true” artist. Not necessarily playing what people want to hear, but what he wants to express emotionally and his solo stuff represents that clearly.
