Last year I bought Buckingham/Nicks, after hearing it on UA-cam. Gosh, what a nice album. I loved the music when FM first came into fame in 1975. That’s the magic I still find on that album.
It probably was the last nail in the band's coffin. FM had a very long, good run. Christine not being with the band hardly slowed them down at all, but she was at least around to inspire. It's time for the tribute bands to strut their stuff.
@@danielmankowski922 NOT "unpopular" OVER heres.....Mick SAID it, obviously right after her passing TOO!.... SHOULD'VE stayed true to his statement.. Whatever..I guess they STILL AIN'T got enough 💰💰💰. 😒
Fleetwood Mac's problem is that they need Lindsey but Lindsey doesn't need them. Just a fact. They all have so much money so no one needs to work and without Christine just why?
Stevie Nick’s recent performance as musical guest on SNL was ghastly. And I mean that in the nicest way. We all get old, but when I saw the Stones this past Summer in Denver, Jagger rocked the house. Sometimes it’s better to quick while you’re ahead.
Much as I love the band and most of the lineups, I think it's time to put a ribbon on the band. They are nearing 80 years of age, John is allegedly in poor health, Christine is gone and....what's the point? Like Robert Plant or Peter Gabriel, sometimes it's best to leave the past alone. I saw the last tour with Neil Finn and Cambell and I enjoyed the show as the setlist was varied and there was a lot more jamming - which rarely happened with Lindsey in the band. I was happy to have seen them 6 times from 1988 on. I'll listen to the records and watch the shows. And I happened to have liked a lot of Tusk!! LOL
So glad I got to see them in Dublin in 2015! They were in top form and appeared to be getting along with eachother better than ever, so it's a pity they didn't leave it at that tour and bow out on top, considering how things subsequently panned out between Stevie and Lindsey. Christine was my favourite singer so it just wouldn't make sense alright to carry on without her. 🎶 🙏
All those Elton John records on the back wall... that was my record collection in the 70's! Regarding Lindsey Buckingham, anyone who has read any of the Fleetwood Mac books knows that He was a brilliant musician and producer and also equally difficult to work with. Sometimes quite violent as well.
If you listen to Lindsey's version of Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi ua-cam.com/video/nCpMne6lWX4/v-deo.html , you can hear how much of Fleetwood Mac's sound and production ethic was his doing. I love all the Fleetwood Mac stuff from the Peter Green days to present, but when Lindsey was in the band it was truly special to me. I miss Christine terribly, RIP! A remarkable band and storied career! Ty John & Shannon for sharing the news and memories! Always great to be with you on these deeply sentimental occasions~
Why is it that it's Lindsey who's the problem all the time? Mick, John, they just always seem to escape scrutiny and have halos. It's like Stevie gangs up on Lindsey at every opportunity as if he's always been the problem. Is he supposed to be nice to anyone? Serious health problems usually change personalities. It just feels, comes off as unfair. Bob Welch, clearly pointed to Mick, John and possibly Christine as the problem on several occasions, sometimes hilariously pointing out his issues with them and look what the core Fleetwood Mac eventually did to him at the RRHoF. Awful. I hurt for Bob. Lindsey was Buckingham Nicks and eventually Fleetwood Mac. I've always wanted a remastered super deluxe of their Buckingham Nicks album, brilliant album. My wife and I were fortunate to see the original line up on tour in the mid 90s, great concert, I remember it vividly, but it's Lindsey's risk taking artistic vision that has driven the band.
Mick Fleetwood and John McVeigh should carry on get Lyndsay or a known blues singer/guitarist. Tour and cover all the early Peter Green Fleetwood Mac stuff even come up with a new blues album. Just think if they got someone like Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Walter Trout, or any blues artist. Even if John's health isn't up to it he could still help produce material. I did get to see Fleetwood Mac once. Christi McVeigh was not with them. Mick Fleetwood could also put together an Allstar version with guest artists and do a tour like Ringo Starr .
The classic lineup is history. Christine is gone. Stevie's voice is half gone and so is her chemistry with Lindsey. Stick to solo projects. Lindsey still has a voice and can play as well as he ever did.
What about Christine McVie's unreleased demos? Why are you avoiding discussing the obvious and talking about dying your hair & Elton John instead? The Rolling Stone article you quoted is two years old. There is material Christine wrote that wasn't used for the Buckingham McVie album that Lindsey has been working on. He has a magic touch & is the best qualified to turn Christine's new material into Fleetwood Mac music. Mick and John are reportedly on board. (They were on board for Buckingham McVie.) So is Warner Bros. Don't know where Stevie Nicks stands, but I can't imagine her sitting this out. There is plenty of precedent for this. (The Beatles) A major issue that could be a stumbling block is the members of Fleetwood Mac sold the publishing rights to their catalog and need the permission of the new owners to release new music. The new owners have monetized their hits and disincentified new material. New Fleetwood Mac music would inevitably put them in competition with Go Your Own Way & Dreams etc. However, fans would welcome new music, especially with Lindsey at the helm. An album would be ideal, but an EP is probably a more realistic expectation. New music would honor Christine and provide FM with an opportunity to say goodbye. FM is obviously done touring. John physically can't handle the stress of travel. The recording studio is another matter. But like all of us, they're on borrowed time and it would be tragic if they forgo this opportunity over some petty personal stuff. FM's legacy has always involved putting the personal shit aside for the sake of the music. It's something the younger generation needs to see. Fleetwood Mac has been a part of our lives for 50 years. Christine's passing took us all by surprise and colleagues and fans need closure. To let Fleetwood Mac fizzle into nothing betrays their legacy and disrespects their fans. Note: Fleetwood Mac seems to be poised to make an announcement soon. Their website has been down for several weeks pending an update or revamp. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they are working things out and will be announcing good news soon.

I got to see them Dec 7, 2014 in Anaheim, CA Honda Center. It was phenomenal!
Sorry to say there is NO Fleetwood Mac without Christine McVie !!
The real unfortunate thing is that the ship has sailed for a reunion of the original group, with the deaths of Peter Green and Danny Kirwan.
I'm glad I got to see Fleetwood Mac live in 2014. I don't think they can get back together anymore, because vital members have passed away. Cheers!
Unpopular opinion: They should have called it a day after the death of Christine McVie. 😢

FACTS! (to the ORIGINAL poster)..... Just like Mick SAID, originally AFTER her passing..... SMH 😒

Jon Anderson will be 80 tomorrow, still killing it! He says he's going to continue making great music 'till he's 103!

Stevie’s voice is gone anyhow. People are best with the memories.
I saw Fleetwood Mac twice with the most popular line up
That’s good enough
The un release music should be their next step

Guess my grey is smacking me straight on cause corners of my forehead and bottom of face/sides of beard are getting it at same time
As long mick n John can still play , the Mac will go pn . They need to drop the crap n get back to the blues

Rumors! L 🤣 L Death of Christine McVee is the death knell of Fleetwood Mac. She kept the balance between Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.

i saw the eagles once it was a great cure for my insomnia 🤣 stevie only gave lindsey 3 minutes he gave her her career

At this point, artistically, what the point? As musicians, they have nothing to prove. They're done touring. Time to move on...

It's done it to ME, in about EVERY OTHER comment I TRY to reply in THIS thread 😞.... It IS HOW THEY, HAVE THEIR ACCOUNT SET UP!!!
Let’s be honest, they were over after Rumors.
Tango in the Night & The Dance (live) were good albums.
🤨.....🥴 LOL 🤭😆
Fleetwood Mac is dead 😮 my favorite guitarist was Danny Kerwin, and Peter Green the album rumors is the most overplayed album of all time….
