"It breaks my heart to know that you can't give yourself what you've given everyone else." ~ "Free clothes?" ~ "Confidence." This scene made me tear up. Been a teacher and I give my students confidence and encouragement every single day. But I feel very insecure and so alone. It makes me happy to see people around me find their confidence. Ironically, I can't find mine.
Same, and same, and same. Actually, I got great boosts of confidence while I was teaching, seeing how I could transform lives. And then, hierarchy told me I wasn’t good enough. I don’t think I deserved that but it hit hard and I had a melt down. I’m slowly recovering. Making some clothes that fit well... somehow, helps. Please, take pride in your good influence on students, and even without it, I’m pretty sure you are well enough to deserve good things in your life.
@@quiddityocean Hello. Wow. Thank you for the reply. That means a lot. It's such a nice thought. I'll keep that in mind. 😌☺️ We do deserve good things, great things lin life. @@quiddityocean Hierarchy! I never thought about it in such a simple way. That is exactly what's broken me and so many people I know. It's disgusting. I'm excited about a movie that shows a broader spectrum of the fat experience. There's often only one fat character and if they're the main character they often don't display confidence until the end and for those that are confident throughout, they're just side characters. That seems to be the case here as well but at least we're getting both rather than one of the other (Dumpling did an decent job of this too). Not all fat people have the same experiences, we're not all perceived the same way by others, we all have different relationships with our body, and we all deal with clothing and fashion differently. I also really love that the new girl called her out (gently) or her hypocrisy of wanting to lift others up but refusing to lift herself up.
@@FoundSheep-ANplease don't act like everyone has the same body chemistry or other circumstances. Healthy is best, but there can be economic restrictions that affect diet and resources for exercise. Mental health can also play a large factor and you need to get your brain healthy before you can get your body there. Lastly, healthy doesn't equate to thin. A healthy body fat percentage for women is between 20-33%. I'm at 29% and I still weigh 250 lbs and wear a size 18. My 175 lbs of muscle (as well as my doctor and trainer) think I'm pretty healthy.
This is brilliant! (Though I remember empire-waisted smock tops in the mid-70's made every girl in my junior high, regardless of size, look like they were expecting because so many maternity items back then were all empire waistlines, if not muu-muu styled.)
How Great!!!!❤️😃👍🏽 I look so forward to this movie!⭐️🤩🌟Thank you for making this movie and spreading the word of true beauty and the importance of confidence in who you are, whoever you are! 👍🏽🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 YAY!!!!!!👍🏽❤️😄❤️
I freaking love this!!! I live for empire waist clothes because they do look great on everyone and this can show people of all sizes how knowing how to dress can give you the confidence to stand tall.
This actually feels like a very positive portrayel with no self pity or depression involved. There are also no forced bs body positivity nonsense shoved up your throat, just girls being girls of any size and shape. Its about a plus size introvert giving others a makeover. I like this trailer a lot, its cute.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I feel like I can’t see this in the theater because I’ll be sobbing but also I need to go because the execs need to know we’re an important demographic (fat femmes)
Besides the cheapass stockass 2000s telemarket music of the trailer the movie looks so wholesome and colourful af. But jesus christ the music they picked makes it look x100 cheaper 🥶
This looks like the first relatable portrayal of what fat women and girls often go through. Wanting to disappear, working from the sidelines and ultimatelly (hopefully) encountering people and situations that challenge our beliefs about ourselves.
I'm all for plus size positivity but come on, why must it completely disconnect from reality? There would never be a hallway of teenagers staring in amazement because she got a new dress.
You mean just like how 99% of movies and TV with teenage characters has at least a few completely unrealistic moments?? What is this comment lol, you’re not “all for” something if you criticize it for having an element that is extremely standard for its category.
I do think that the red dress here should have been more detailed and outstanding, but also, don't exaggerated scenes like these happen in many other teen movies all the time? Where everyone is impressed by the female mc's new look, but when you really think about it her supposed change isn't a big deal or wouldn't be in real life
Why does a movie featuring someone fat, have to make so much of their personality revolve around being fat? Are fat people not allowed to just exist and have fun and enjoy life? Why are they expected to be insecure and unconfident?
