This happened to me with that L’Oréal Glotion liquid highlighter stuff. I’ve had it for so long not knowing what the heck to do with it. At first I rubbed it all over my face under my foundation, and it exaggerated all my wrinkles and pores SO BAD! So I never picked it up again. Then I watched a video on UA-cam of someone mixing their liquid highlighter with their liquid blush, to make a Charlotte Tilbury dupe. I tried doing that with my Glotion, and it worked! I also learned to just very lightly dab it on the tops of my cheekbones. So now I’m reaching for it every time I put on makeup. If you have some, go ahead and mix that with the Milani liquid cheek kiss berry colored blush, and it works just like Tilbury’s glow wands!
YEP! I use the Glotion like highlighter. Dab it on cheeks, a bit on my forehead, etc.
I mix it with my matte foundations but thanks for the tip. I'll mix it with my liquid blush
I like it under powder foundations sometimes and I use it as highlighter on top of foundation too.

I find the foundation with a dropper so messy. I got the loreal one and it aggravated me so much every time I used it until I realised I had a pump I bought once (I think it was to fit a nars foundation or maybe a Mac one? I can't remember) and it fits right on and it's such a pleasure to use now 😅 I mean the dropper is cool I guess just too messy for me

Double wear is the one product I can never be out of. I buy other foundations out of curiosity but they never measure up. I love the bun to the side. Very cute.
Jess!! The Ilia serum is my holy grail. I have dry, often flakey, skin and this does not accentuate it. I use my hands to apply almost like skincare and really rub it into my skin. If you do it this way it works like Mac face and body where it will start to set and become tacky. It gives my skin the most glowy, healthy, radiant finish. Will never go without this.
I hate to have to throw away products, especially expensive foundations but most times I am able to make them work by mixing them with other foundations. I also didn’t like at all the elf cc cream (and couldn’t understand the hype and everybody saying it is a dupe for the it cosmetics cc cream) but I started to add a little bit to the tinted moisturizer from Coloupop to increase the coverage and it is a very nice base.
The beginning of this video got me laughing 😂 I am so sorry you had to re-film all of this but that reaction is just priceless and unbelieving relatable 😂😩
happened to me with the l'oreal infaillable foundation. I did not get how people raved about this and tried it over and over again until i found out my skincare interfered with it and i used way to much and now it looks stunning :)

I have every shade of the MAC lip liners and have used them for over 20 years. I love other brands as well. But the MAC liners are and always will be a staple. They are a bit dryer but you can use them all over the lip for a stay in place color and they just don’t budge or bleed.
We were in Disney last week and my niece’s FAVORITE ride is Figment. She came home with Figment ears, a Figment cup and a Figment zip-up hoodie. She’s been to EPCOT eight times (and she’s only 10) but she’s still obsessed with that dang dragon. 😂💜
I LOVED Figment when I was a kid! I haven't been to Disney since I was 17 (I'm 48 now), and for some reason I had thought Figment wasn't really around anymore! I'm very happy to know I was wrong!

I’m glad you realized how to use the dropper! It can be frustrating as a viewer. I just wanna reach through the screen and help ya out! 😂😂 also, I think the Ilia skin tint is a good shade for you…sometimes it seems as if you go for too dark of a shade and think it’s your shade. I’ve realized for myself too, because I’m similarly pale but have a darker/pink chest, lighter foundations can look good because you bring back the color with bronzer and blush.

I love the cc cream from elf! A little goes a long way for me and I always use a hydrating primer and that makes it look seamless on my skin since I find it to be a little bit of a satin Like finish which can look more drying and break apart on my skin!
The Estée Lauder double wear sheer is amazing and if you like the original you will love it. It’s way thinner but still covers well and it’s perfect for hot sticky humid summers.

The hourglass vanish concealer is my favorite! I’ve definitely over applied when I first got it. Didn’t mind it because I realized it right away. The more I tried it the more I learned how much to apply on me. I have fine lines under my eyes and I still love it. I get bags and dark circles at times and I love it. It’s my go to for night time outings.
I love these kind of videos! First impressions can be deceiving indeed;) feel you on 2 of the foundations you mentioned! The Elf one wears off after a couple of hours, soo disappointing. I really wanted to love it because the flawless foundation of ELF I used to love. And the double wear Estee Lauder is the winner for me as well, it is so pretty and doesnt look cakey at all. It looks so good all day, even when your oils are coming through.
I love the Estée Lauder Double Wear too and I stayed away from it for a while thinking the same thing and now it’s one a always keep in my collection. EL does sell a pump for it. I dislike having to purchase it separately, but I did and I switch it from bottle to bottle.
I absolutely love the Estee Lauder double wear and I am a Nars girl only. Looks very natural. So awesome!
Good on you for re-filming right away! I have had the same issue way sooo many times where a file corrupted, or I wasn’t recording, or I lost footage. I was so mad and disappointed that I couldn’t bring myself to re-film immediately. However, I always find when I do eventually get back to it, the 2nd time around always turns out better anyway. Really good video concept!
For ilia I’m balos st3 and it’s a good match - I am generally a good match with the shades you use!

I totally get what you mean about the Elf Camo CC Cream now that it's summer and my oily t-zone doesn't look dewy anymore! It makes me sad because it is a PERFECT color match for me AND I bought a backup during their last 40% off sale. I'm determined to figure out how to make it work for longer so if I'm successful, I'll share what I did!
I’ve been layering the Camo Powder Foundation on top of the CC cream on my oily skin. It looks flawless!

I love the estelauder double wear. I'm oily and live in a very hot humid client and it's my go to if I need it to last through the worst conditions lol.

I've kinda known we're the same foundation shade ever since you wore & promoted the Rimmel foundations, but I'm glad you confirmed it with EL Ecru, which I adore. That's my reference/staple shade to search & match on the Sephora app :D

I tried Estée Lauder Double Wear 5-6 years ago and did not like it either. I looked really heavy on my skin and looked weird around my nose for some reason. Fast forward to now, I took your advice and it is one of my holy grail foundations now!
Jess, we have similar tastes when it comes to foundation and I didn't like the IT Cc cream either. However, the illuminating one is great. Not the new Nude Glow, just the original in illuminating cc cream

I also love the Estée Lauder Double Wear. It is my all time favorite! I have worn it exclusively since I was a junior in high school! No foundation will ever compare to it. Call me crazy though, I love that it doesn’t have a pump. Not a pump fan 🤣

Try the profusion liquid eyeliner. Its super black and lasts all day for me. Its around $4.50 on amazon. Super fine tip. Love it!

EDWW is my holy grail! It really lasts in the ot Louisiana summers. I agree with you, I don’t think it’s full coverage. I use a damp sponge because I think that makes for the prettiest finish, which also gives it a more medium coverage. Using a brush will make it more full but it starts getting cakey. I do love that EDWW.

Lol that's so funny, I like the saie glowy gel as a highlighter, but not as a primer. Then again, I like really subtle highlights because otherwise they accentuate texture and pores on me

Hi Jess! I’ve been a long time subscriber and your videos are my favorite in all of UA-cam land!! I love how you described the glossier flex concealer. I need some help on my under eye but never wear face makeup other than that. Sooo I’m wondering…. if you were not wearing foundation or anything, and just wanted something under your eyes, would you choose the glossier flex or the Bobbi brown corrector? I can only buy one and I know they are technically different products but I’m just curious about your personal preference!

I always thought my nose looked like a broken tile mosaic. (Only.. ickier)
One item I could not get behind for a while was the nars creamy concealer - the really popular one. I have bad under eye circles and I tried it once in the stores quickly - felt like it covered nothing and wrote it off. When I would go back in to sephora year after year and ask for concealer recs the sales team would recommend it and I would always ignore it and ask for a different rec. Well last year I went again and asked for a rec and they again told me nars creamy concealer. I finally gave in and retried it expecting to hate it again but now I use it daily 🤦🏽♀️ I still have to stack it with other concealers cus alone it doesn’t completely do the job but its pretty darn good - cant believe I was so stubborn about it
Can I ask what you use for your concealer? I also have stubborn dark under eyes and only just tried the nar radiant creamy concealer. Completely agree it's pretty good but just misses the complete coverage mark!
@@kiraemily5517 Right now Im doing the nars creamy concealer and then put the mac studio finish concealer on top but only because its what I had so I just layer it. Im almost done with the mac but I dont think I will be repurchasing. Sorry its not helpful. Im still looking for something that compliments the nars 100%. Concealer has always been a tricky thing for me and its what I need the most lol goodluck finding something! :)
Have you tried something like a corrector underneath? Like the pinkish exa corrector, bobbi brown, or Charlotte tilbury? I usually use the Charlotte Tilbury corrector (in a little compact) and tap to blend, then add a little bit of brightening concealer on top.
I wish more beauty UA-camrs would do these types of videos. And I really wish the Tic Tok beauty community would too! I think so many products go "viral" on Tic Tok because they really only do first impressions on things and claim they love it. But I know I wear my makeup a minimum of a few hours and max maybe 14-15 hrs, and I know there's going to be a lot of differences on how products wear. Mascaras especially! Of course they won't smudge right away, I need the wear test to really know whether to buy or not and even then I'll still probably get the waterproof version (double cleanse with an oil cleanser first and it's as easy as regular & it usually holds a curl better).

I use the Saie as a highlighter BUT don’t put it on my skin directly (that had pick up my foundation). I pump on my hand, blend and then apply with my fingers.

Estée Lauder Double Wear is THE BEST. No matter your application tool, no matter the product you apply before it….always looks good. Also lasts for me in hot hot 115 degree Arizona. Holy grail, never going to be without it. Reviews make it seem thick and cakey and it’s far from that. I was shocked at how NOT heavy and cakey it was when I finally tried it.

I would like to know as well! I was just at Sephora and picked up the one she has linked as I assume she linked the one she plans on getting! I hope so because we have the same skin tone. I tried a couple of the shades that were lighter than the ones she linked, but they seemed way too light. Did you ever find out?
The Ordinary caffeine solution used twice a day took away my allergy/ under eyes dryness.
What color of the NYX brow thick it stick it do you use?
Also- love the glossier stretch concealer as a light cover for redness or dark spots to quickly head out the door. So easy!
wood lip liners are for defining and creamy lip liners are for filling in and longevity. I use both just because I can. haha
I’ve had issues with elf and other lip stains changing color once they dry down. The elf cc cream did not work for me at all either (combo skin). I think the Morphe and NYX wooden lip pencils are comparable to MAC you should do a dupe/longevity test on those vs the MAC that would be great!
It’s so funny that the area I live in , Virginia, Estee Lauder makeup is considered “granny” makeup. All the rich lil old ladies shopped at Belk, before it closed, for their makeup 😂
