I just cut my hair off this morning!!! When I went outside today with my new look it seemed like more people were drawn to talk to me which made me feel great. It was like they had to say something to me. Kinda hard to explain it was abnormal energy that I could get use too :) Like they didn't look at me weird but wanted a conversation with me. I also notice that I am still my happy self with postive energies just even more gorgeous. I feel more confident wearing my new look and I am happy to see what was under all my hair. I feel like I can take care of my scalp easier too. Now I will admit one of my guy friends was not that happy with my new look- totally gave me a pessimistic vibe, but I don't care. Well..honestly.. it did bother me a little bit today. However I got over it and feel and look confident and that's all that matters. Good luck with everyone journey - huggies.

I recall my late grandmother on my father’s side cut her long hair, really, really short. I was 8 yrs old when she passed away. I always wondered many yrs later~why she did that?? Later I found out abt many unfavorable incidents in her family had occurred (intolerable in my time!). Now I’m feeling I need to depart from the mundane “norm” and experience an awakening energy, with one less distraction~hair! 🌹🥰

I was LOVING it but decided to grow my hair back to show others (particularly my ex) my “regular” look even though I wanted to keep the short hair. It was so freeing and I felt so beautiful! Anyway, my aunt recently got diagnose with cancer and I don’t know yet but she may need surgery and chemotherapy, and would probably lose her hair if she does all that. I had an emotional time and tried a new hair cut but hated it and shaved my head myself a couple days ago. My hair was 24in long. So a big change. I’ve had a short pixie years ago. it’s so hard for me to look in the mirror. A lot of emotions are building up and questions, self identity issues. I use to not care what others thought but this is not the case. It’s hard to love me rn.

Plus it’s so cute and I love myself so much more now The only hair product I use is like dandruff shampoo because I’ve had dandruff for ages but now I can get to it better. Plus I either use my own clippers or go to the hair salon and pay $15 or less to get it shaved
I shaved my hair due to alopecia, I've lost my edges due to braiding and stress, but I love it, and I'm sending a message to women out there, that u can still look beautiful with a shaved head.

These were all the same reasons I would give too for why I loved shaving my head, too. ❤️ Also a big one for me too was that I'm super OCD with my hair, and I enjoyed just getting to go out and get caught in the rain without an umbrella or wind from rolling the car windows down without having to think about whether it'd be messed up or not. I could just enjoy the rain and the breeze!! As simple as that sounds, it was just absolutely liberating! (And I could also put on my motorcycle helmet without having to re-fix my hair wherever I arrived, too. 😂) I'm actually about to shave it again right now, lol. Was just looking up some hair clipper videos before doing it, and I happened to stumble here and you gave me even more confidence to push past what little shred of doubt and attachment I had to my natural 3c-ish type pain-in-the-ass, expensive-and-time-consuming-to-maintain af hair. Hi, I am just curious. My observation is that most women who shave their hair are black women who have naturally afro-textured hair. While women of other races like whites, Asians, Indians who have natural straight or wavy hair, don't do it as often. Do you think its because afro-textured hair is very difficult to manage and it costs huge amount of time, products, money and effort to style it? Btw, I support the natural hair movement and I am fan of the afro 🙌

In my case I notice: More men look at me with curiosity and admiration. Strangers are more friendly towards me People seem less likely to mess with you, I think they see the short hair as a sign of inner strenth I experinece less bitchiness from other females Myself: Kids come up to me more :-) I feel more outspoken in myself I feel more of a need to wear earrings at time (think I'm still getting use to my face being so out there) I see my eyes more I'm starting to give less of a toss about what other think :-)
I've been wearing a cap for 2-3 years now. I've had long hair under it this whole time. Normally, hiding under my cap but sometimes I would wear my hair down and just sick the cap on the top of my head. God gave me the cap and that's why I love it so much. I was praying about prayer covering and it just should be up at my door. The cutest cap ever. I've tried to find cuter ones and I can't 💖🥰. Well, anyway I've been wearing this cap for years. What I have noticed is that people tend to treat me like a little old church lady. 😂 like they try to watch what they say and best behavior. I also get a lot of questions about my hat and it makes a LOT of people 😡. Like it's between me and God... Lol, chill. I detest my hair and want it shaved off. I've severe psoriasis people keep asking asking have I burned my hair I've to constantly wash and over process it qnd now the psoriasis is in the inside of my ears. It cannot grow and is getting shorter over time as the psoriasis is starving it from the roots. It's compounded by the fact I'm also very large. I can't pick up a pair of pants in a shop even if I run for 3 hours. I weigh 7 st 13 but I'm a dress size 40. All my weight situatuated there. Can't buy clothes very big dress size. I was once 6 stone 4 and had waist length but my psoriasis destroyed my hair. Most of it fell out. I hate morons. My hairs extremely brittle and washing it often is weakening it. I hate it. I want it cut off.
I am chubby and I don't know if I will look as good as you. I know I am doing it to get rid of such thoughts about how I will look. My parents are searching for an alliance so they won't let me. I really want to get rid of it.
if you want to do it, just go for it, it still might turn out great. When in doubt, you can start with a longer length and go shorter and shorter so you can stop at any time without cutting off too much and messing up. I'm not completely thin either but playing with the thought about shaving my head as well. Think I'll do it today :) Edit: Just did it and it really turned out great, worth the try! ^^
talk and try to convince her, maybe she'll let you in the end. If not, wait until you are out the house for college or university where you can do it without her bothering you. Or you shave when you are not at home for some time like 2 months for instance. Enough time for a shave and growing your hair back

When I moved out for uni, I shaved my head on my first night at my own new place. Haven't visited my parents for 2 months and after that my hair grew back into a short haircut so they never found out. Could be a way to do it without your mother knowing.

We are so different here,in Kenya(africa) most of the parents dont allow children to keep hair before 18 or until they finish their highschool education. Soo its like a norm to shave your head infact most people under18 shave their heads. I tried convincing my parents to let me grow it out but being them i had to shave it so its like the opposite .Shaving is norm here while growing your hair out is a norm there

Should I chop off my hair with scissors behind my parents backs until its so short they have to shave it? 😐 I'm very conflicted.

Siobhan Phoenix Heyy ! It’s no longer shaved unfortunately as I loved that look but I wasn’t keen on it black & shaved. And the blonde was so much upkeep & felt like it was bad for my head as it hurt when getting done 😩. It’s so liberating! Xx

I shave my head and I'm kind of afraid my friend from high school who I am now going to college with when I had my had my hair short in 10th grade he quit talking to me again because he did when I was in 10th grade and had my hair short but I'm just gonna tell him to shut up if he does
honestly, if he stops talking to you because of a minor cosmetic change than he kind of deserves to be told to shut up.

id like to hear more specific examples about how peoples treatment toward you changed. thats very interesting to me, if anyone here has experience with that id love to hear your experiences/ feelings on what occurred.
In my case I notice:
More men look at me with curiosity and admiration.
Strangers are more friendly towards me
People seem less likely to mess with you, I think they see the short hair as a sign of inner strenth
I experinece less bitchiness from other females
Myself:
Kids come up to me more :-)
I feel more outspoken in myself
I feel more of a need to wear earrings at time (think I'm still getting use to my face being so out there)
I see my eyes more
I'm starting to give less of a toss about what other think :-)
I've been wearing a cap for 2-3 years now. I've had long hair under it this whole time. Normally, hiding under my cap but sometimes I would wear my hair down and just sick the cap on the top of my head. God gave me the cap and that's why I love it so much. I was praying about prayer covering and it just should be up at my door. The cutest cap ever. I've tried to find cuter ones and I can't 💖🥰. Well, anyway I've been wearing this cap for years. What I have noticed is that people tend to treat me like a little old church lady. 😂 like they try to watch what they say and best behavior. I also get a lot of questions about my hat and it makes a LOT of people 😡. Like it's between me and God... Lol, chill. But yeah I just shaved my head recently and I wanted to know how others felt and what they noticed as well. You know, for reach purposes 😂😅. God bless you, honey. I detest my hair and want it shaved off. I've severe psoriasis people keep asking asking have I burned my hair I've to constantly wash and over process it qnd now the psoriasis is in the inside of my ears. It cannot grow and is getting shorter over time as the psoriasis is starving it from the roots. It's compounded by the fact I'm also very large. I can't pick up a pair of pants in a shop even if I run for 3 hours. I weigh 7 st 13 but I'm a dress size 40. All my weight situatuated there. Can't buy clothes very big dress size. I was once 6 stone 4 and had waist length but my psoriasis destroyed my hair. Most of it fell out. I hate morons. My hairs extremely brittle and washing it often is weakening it. I hate it. I want it cut off.

if you want to do it, just go for it, it still might turn out great. When in doubt, you can start with a longer length and go shorter and shorter so you can stop at any time without cutting off too much and messing up. I'm not completely thin either but playing with the thought about shaving my head as well. Think I'll do it today :)

talk and try to convince her, maybe she'll let you in the end. If not, wait until you are out the house for college or university where you can do it without her bothering you. Or you shave when you are not at home for some time like 2 months for instance. Enough time for a shave and growing your hair back

maybe try talking to her and convincing her so that she lets you do it. If not, maybe shave your head when you are not around your parents for a longer time span. When I moved out for uni, I shaved my head on my first night at my own new place. Haven't visited my parents for 2 months and after that my hair grew back into a short haircut so they never found out. Could be a way to do it without your mother knowing.
My husband doesn't like it, but I love it, and it's cheap you have bother going to the hair dressers anymore.

We are so different here,in Kenya(africa) most of the parents dont allow children to keep hair before 18 or until they finish their highschool education. Soo its like a norm to shave your head infact most people under18 shave their heads. I tried convincing my parents to let me grow it out but being them i had to shave it so its like the opposite .Shaving is norm here while growing your hair out is a norm there
