I'm so thankful he didn't trigger the listeners because he was liberal enough to let us know that he did want to go bye " he or she " lol good God. This country is bound for failure
I was a UH-1N crew chief with HMLA-367 and flew my check flight with Col. Jamison when I checked in. One of the best pilots and CO’s I’ve ever had. Good to see him after 25 years!
My cousin's husband is a mechanic for the presidential helicopters. He ended up being chosen right as President Biden was put in office. He served his time there but couldn't wait to get out because it became so political that it made him not even want to be in the Marines anymore. Which is very sad! I really enjoyed the show thank you so much for the information it was awesome.
At 1:16:45 - “I had *some* credibility in the fleet” I’m not a pilot so I’m not so good at reading between the lines, but that seemed like a rather incredibly humble statement. 4350 hours and was a pilot for the POTUS…. Ummm yeah… I’m thinking his credibility was never in question. Great interview.
This is what I love about this podcast ,you're entertained and informed about fascinating subjects and incredibly interesting people that you didn't even think you'd find interesting. Fantastic stuff thanks for your efforts 👏👏👏👍🇦🇺
I worked for Reflectone Training Systems in the mid 90's in Jacksonville Florida, where we had full motion based flight simulators for the H-3 and H-60 helicopters. During this time, pilots from VX-1 that flew Marine One would come down for recertification. I distinctly remember them saying how nice and charming President Bill Clinton was to everyone but Hillary was just the opposite! The pilots loved their job even though they didn't vote for Bill. True professionals! Great Podcast, keep it going!
What a great interview and interviewee. Col. Boone is such a personable kind a guy. I really enjoyed everything he had to say. Salute you sir for your service. Thank you.
Enjoyed the pod cast … I was at HMX Aug 1975 - Sep 1978 as an Avionics Tech and I was a VH-1N and VH-3D crew chief. I was there at the end of Ford and first part of Carter. Many trips to Camp David and Georgia. I took Marine One onto the South Lawn Aug 1978 two weeks before I got out.
I was privileged to be a young E-5 helicopter mechanic with HMX-1, 70-72, when Richard Nixon was President. As I recall, we had five VH-3A helicopters for the President and several VH-1D helicopters. We received two VH-1N helicopter shortly before I was discharged into civilian life. My time in the Marine Corps was the very foundation of my life long career in aviation, which included more than thirty years with European aircraft manufacturer Airbus. I proudly displayed the picture of Marine One, given to me upon separation from the Corps, in my Airbus office. Now retired, that same picture hangs in the office of my home. Semper fi, Marines!
What a wonder discussion. Thank you! I got to see a bit of the Presidential/VIP ops at Andrews AFB. I was TDY there in late 1984 and again in early 1986 doing work at the air traffic control facility/tower. Very interesting seeing the prep and post work of what goes on for a Presidential/VIP departure or arrival.
Great job. Wonderful interview I mentioned to Mooch, once, that it's always great to watch a conversation between brothers that wear the same shoes. Thanks for the great content. Respect from a brother wearing different shoes.
Awesome guest and a lot of info. Thank you for your service brothers. I had a brother Security Police come to my squadron from the White House color guard and got some stories from him also.
What a great episode with Boone!! NASNI was my first Duty Station as a young Infantry Marine. Later, in the Air Force Reserve I carried the three HMX-1 VH-60s several times as a C-5 Loadmaster. The HMX ground crew knew their stuff and were great to work with. Semper Fi!!
I had the pleasure to serve and support HMX-1 on three different occassions in my life. From 80-84 I was blessed to crew VH-3D's and at one point was designated the Marine One crew heif for President Reagan. An amazing experience for a young Marine. My second tour was from 87-94 where I supported the HMX-1 mission while also being involved in the early planning for the developing V-22 program. Lastly I had the honor of supporting the Presidential Helicopter fleet at the NAVAIR Program Office as the civilian Assistant Maintenance Officer for an amazing team of personnel for 13 years before retiring in 2020. HMX has been a large part of my life and to this day I will still see one fly past my house from time to time and will always stop and watch as it passes by. Had to laugh when they discussed the variety of landing zones. We landed with Reagan on a drag strip once. You call that "variety".
It’s pretty cool that this video popped up today. Here in College Station, TX, a retired Marine One helicopter was delivered yesterday for permanent display at the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. It will be displayed with the “Presidential Locomotive”, a special Union Pacific locomotive that was painted in Air Force One colors and numbered 4141 in honor of the 41st president. This locomotive pulled the funeral train that brought the former president’s body to his final resting place. I hope Mr. Jamison gets an opportunity to visit the museum someday.
Sir, great episode! I had the distinct pleasure of serving with Col Jamison at EWTGLANT. Great Commanding Officer and an even better human being. He made a difference.
The Colonel sounds like he enjoyed his tour as a Marine One Pilot. I was amazed at the logistics involved transporting the president. Great interview, Commander!
Wow! This interview was amazing! Great guest and story to have on Jello. It’s a side of military aviation I know I have never heard much about. Fascinating stuff!
Wow! What a blast from the past! There is a lot that I’ve forgotten about my time at HMX-1 (‘88-‘93), since I separated from the Marine Corps in ‘93. However, I do remember “Captain” Jamison. It’s no surprise that he gave so much credit to the Crew Chiefs and everyone else involved. I remember him as being a very professional, positive person that treated everyone with respect. It’s great to know that he had such a remarkable career. Excellent job by the interviewer “dragging” answers out of the Colonel. 😂 From an old Crew Chief.
Oh man, interesting to hear about Barbara Bush baking cookies for the mechanics. So kool. And the story of Dan Quayle’s wife cleaning up the helicopter after her children. Absolutely a great show.
As a sailor,I was lucky enough to get orders to (then) HMT-303 and would enjoy hearing the HMX recruiters come through….. being that I did my first tour in DC, we would have allot in common. This interview brought back some good memories!! ADCS (ret)
Jeeze Jello....you stay consistent with amazing guests. From a viewers perspective it looks like you take a lot of time preparing for your interview. You ask wonderful questions and set the stage perfectly.
Yes as far as military podcaster's go...you may know what the guest is already going to say where as the other guys will step on their guest to show off that they know the answer. Where as we know you know, you just want their take.
Former army 15 tango uh-60 crew chief here.. From one to another thank you sir for your service to our country. And for taking care of s couple of our brst presidents and flying them.
What a wonderful interview with an excellent guest and natural conversation flow. It’s always interesting to hear some of the behind the scenes details on presidential transportation. I’m surprised you didn’t ask his thoughts on the mess of VXX / VH-92 program.
I flew with a Major (in Herks) that had been a CH-46 driver at HMX in the late 70s. He related the story about being 33rd in a group of the best pilots in the Marine Corps and how it stymied his career.
I was lucky enough to be part of the media when POTUS arrived on Tues to KMHT, the amount of prep and security it took before he got there was unreal. Then the constant contact with SS as he got closer to get the media onto the tarmac a few minutes before he touched down. It was too windy to use Marine One, so they had a large motorcade and being so close was the first time I was able to see how thick the doors are. No wonder they say its a tank.
Good show. My neighbor was Major Pete Benet. He was Marine One pilot for Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard M. Nixon. Great guy. Not sure if your guest knew him or not. Lived here in Weatherford,TX after his retirement. Great stories about things he witnessed politicians doing especially at Camp David. Many not involving their wives. Moved to Louisiana to be with family and passed away in 2016.
BTW, I heard you mentioned taking off at National Airport (will never call it Reagan). In the late 60s, 70s and early 80,(before the extension ) only ex Navy pilots could tolerate landings and takeoff there. Something about being a stationary carrier. Ring any bells? Thanks again for the content.
People that do tasks that you may not give thought to in the building of one of the "executive fleet" aircraft also are required to have yahnkee white clearance
My son spent 11 years at URD. His security clearance was one level below Yankee White. He could have gone to White House communications and would’ve had Yankee White if he had taken it.
A very very interesting interview. I am surprised at some of the details he was able to speak about considering he had to sign non-disclosure agreements. I had to sign the same sort of things on a couple of occasions in the USN, and I am still biting my lip 37 years later. Salute to all my fellow vet's.
I was an enlisted Marine at Camp David during George H W Bush's administration, and I can attest that he wanted us to compete hard while playing wally-ball, etc. He would get upset if he thought you were going easy on him. LOL!
That guy exudes pride and satisfaction in a life well lived…good on ya mate….
I'm so thankful he didn't trigger the listeners because he was liberal enough to let us know that he did want to go bye " he or she " lol good God. This country is bound for failure
I don't think you could find two nicer guys! Man, I really enjoyed this. God bless you both, and thank you for your service.
Well, thank you, that is kind of you to say.
I was a UH-1N crew chief with HMLA-367 and flew my check flight with Col. Jamison when I checked in. One of the best pilots and CO’s I’ve ever had. Good to see him after 25 years!

Excellent interview and very engaging guest. You know it's good when 90 minutes go by and it feels like 30.

Amazing interview and guest!
These interviews are so fun to listen to. Im sure that was a pretty incredable career.
One of my favourite podcasts. Cheers from Oz🇦🇺
Salut!
I was a V22 Osprey crew chief at HMX 2013-2016 and had the honor to be a part of these missions. Best experiences of my life!
What a wonder discussion. Thank you!

Great episode! Love it! And as always thank you and him for serving the country!!! Great episode!!!!!

Great job. Wonderful interview
I mentioned to Mooch, once, that it's always great to watch a conversation between brothers that wear the same shoes. Thanks for the great content. Respect from a brother wearing different shoes.
Ty! Love to hear more of these!
We have plenty more!
Awesome guest and a lot of info. Thank you for your service brothers. I had a brother Security Police come to my squadron from the White House color guard and got some stories from him also.
I've heard most of these interviews and this was by far the most interesting and informative. Thanks.
Semper Fi!!
Thank you for talking to Boone. Very entertaining and insightful. I'll be watching more!
You’re welcome 😀

Thanks for all the definitions
You're welcome, glad you appreciate them--takes a bit of work to get all that right.
Pumped for this one!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Hope you enjoy it!
This is amazing. Wish I would have found this channel 6 years ago! Got a lot of catching up to do!
This is the first show of yours I've seen. Great interview, what an incredible man! You've earned a subscriber.
Welcome, and thanks!

That helicopter is tail number 159358 … I worked on, flew in and cleaned that aircraft for three years when I was assigned to HMX-1
Sir, great episode!
I had the distinct pleasure of serving with Col Jamison at EWTGLANT. Great Commanding Officer and an even better human being. He made a difference.
Great interview!! My younger brother was a HMX-1 pilot during Bush 43.
Fantastic interview! Been curious about this for a long time. SUBSCRIBED! THANKS 🎉
You’re welcome, and thank YOU 😊
That was excellent and really fascinating !
Thanks, Mitchell. 😎
Flew with John Tax after his retirement from HMX for 9 years. He was Marine one pilot to Regan and a superb human being.
It took me almost 4 hrs. on 4 diff. days to finished this episode. But was just like reading a book. Great video Thanks.
Damn, this guy is sharp. Excellent interview. Thank you!
You're welcome. Appreciate the feedback!
Great guest and very interesting how flying the president works.
Great interview and very informative. Thanks for your time.
You're welcome, Clark. Thanks for watching.

Wow! This interview was amazing! Great guest and story to have on Jello. It’s a side of military aviation I know I have never heard much about. Fascinating stuff!
Thank you so much for this fascinating conversation💯☺️
Listened to the podcast and really enjoyed listening to this fellow. I like when Marines don't have to come across as always tough and serious!

One of the most interesting long form interviews I've seen.
Thank you
One of the best interviews!!

Former army 15 tango uh-60 crew chief here..
From one to another thank you sir for your service to our country. And for taking care of s couple of our brst presidents and flying them.
Enjoyed this podcast! Yea the Huey Helicopter 🚁 is my favorite as well!!😂 Hence my last name
Absolutely loved the video
great episode, thank you Jim for keeping our acting presidents safe!
Great and extremely interesting interview!
Great podcast. Thanks for this.
great pod, great ep!
Very interesting and informative interview.
thank you.
What a wonderful interview with an excellent guest and natural conversation flow.
It’s always interesting to hear some of the behind the scenes details on presidential transportation. I’m surprised you didn’t ask his thoughts on the mess of VXX / VH-92 program.
I figured we'd stick with his experiences from 30+ years ago without wading into current affairs.
Great Podcast!
I am a fly on the wall listening to some excellent information, thank you.
Very interesting and informative video guys.
Good Interview I enjoyed it.
I flew with a Major (in Herks) that had been a CH-46 driver at HMX in the late 70s. He related the story about being 33rd in a group of the best pilots in the Marine Corps and how it stymied his career.
Amazing episode
Its been years but I think I met Jim if he lived in the Newport Beach area. Got to hear really cool stories
Great podcast. May have provided Jim ATC service while an approach controller in the 80’s working traffic between KPSM and P67 (Walkers point).
Great episode!

Nice Job! I have a Challenge Coin in my possession HMX-1 U.S. Marines!
My cousin was a marine pilot in HMX-1, flew the whitecap with Geo. Bush, Maj. T. Parker

One correction though, the Army still had the presidential helicopter mission around 1974 because Nixon boarded Army One after he'd resigned.
Well, I suppose at that point he was no longer president
BTW, I heard you mentioned taking off at National Airport (will never call it Reagan).
In the late 60s, 70s and early 80,(before the extension ) only ex Navy pilots could tolerate landings and takeoff there. Something about being a stationary carrier. Ring any bells? Thanks again for the content.
Can't speak to the 60s-80s but post 9/11 procedures in and out of Reagan (why not?) are justifiably unforgiving.
So when is the VH-92A will be ready for Special Missions?
🤷🏻♂
36:57 I worked at O'Hare when Obama came in a could times. That airport froze even he came in and left the area. It was interesting to see.
A moving president makes pretty big waves.
Jello one of the best podcast in awhile thank you
A very very interesting interview. I am surprised at some of the details he was able to speak about considering he had to sign non-disclosure agreements. Great guest, you could tell he loved what he did. Military life can be brutal. The wives don't get enough credit and praise.
Really interesting
I like how he brought Marine .5 with him. 😂😂😂
Wow this was an amazing one Jell-O!!
Thanks!
Those helicopters are kept at Bolling AFB
We need a VA, MOUNT WEATHER EPISODE from a former worker
From soneone who's across the pond this looks like Graeme Souness(Vincent Aiello) interviewing Prince Andrew (Jim Jamison).
...um, ok.
I was an enlisted Marine at Camp David during George H W Bush's administration, and I can attest that he wanted us to compete hard while playing wally-ball, etc. He would get upset if he thought you were going easy on him. LOL!
Je kan zien aan zijn ogen trots hij als helikopter piloot van de president van Amerika ( God bless you)
My Uncle flew Marine 1 for Bush sr and Clinton... Lt Col Kevin Dodge.

This hasn't shown up on Spotify yet?.?.. Anything a miss with the magic pixies?
Videos come out on Fridays, audio follow on Mondays.
I would touch base with Jim and many others about their "Apolitical" nature and mission... (Coming from the son of Hoagy...)
Did not see a need to.
What Great Americans!
