    I just love your maquettes. It’s a thing that everyone can put in their portfolio, competition board.

      Thanks! It actually is. It really gives a different feel to the presentation when you see maquettes instead of a ton of renders

    I have no prior knowledge of V-ray, but I downloaded it today to do this tutorial. I managed to replicate a similar, simpler model to yours by following your instructions. Everything went smoothly, Thank you so much for providing this tutorial.

    Currently working on my portfolio for grad school and saw this video in my recommended. I hated how the photos I took of my physical model turned out so this tutorial is perfect! Thank you

    Nice tutorial, I like how quick this was to do. If given more time, I would probably have separated the geometry of the facade into its own objects, to enable the use of displacement textures. That would allow you to enhance the 'imperfections' but that also takes a lot more time.

    Can you please show the full step of how to the make the groups and and then make the Different sections, I was a little confused, it still changes when I make a new one. What am I doing wrong ?

    • @ShowItBetter
      @ShowItBetter  Місяць тому

      the most important thing is to make sure each time you create a section, you create a component and group it. After this you can create another section on top of it.

  • @lydiasofia92

    Beautiful digital maquette! I did not understand how you could model the table without it being cut too by the section though..

    • @ShowItBetter
      @ShowItBetter  Рік тому

      thanks! it's because it was all made inside groups and components. You have to group and place in component the building, and outside of it all, you can model the table

    • @ShowItBetter

      when you export from vray, there is an option called render channels where you can select the render id

    Great video Steven! Do you know how to model the table and back wall in revit so that they do not cut when using the section planes?

    • @ShowItBetter
      @ShowItBetter  Рік тому

      Thanks John! Not really. I understand that you have to edit certain parameters within each furniture family in order for it to be visible when using the section plane. But probably the channel Balkan Architect can have a more specific answer

  • @ulisesibarra655
    @ulisesibarra655 Рік тому

    I didn't get that part in which you are doing the cuts and hiding the rest of the building. When I try it it hides all of the building, not just the part am cutting. And another thing is, when i render on vray, the cut affects the scenario too, son i don´t get those maquettes like the one you got there. Could you explain please?

    It looks nice until you zoom in. You can see the grain of the wood is not realistic. The materials are "too perfect". And the edges are perfect 90 degree angles.

    • @ShowItBetter
      @ShowItBetter  Рік тому +1

      completely agree Frank! I could spend some more time on the model to make it look more realistic! I also should have rounded the corners with the Fredo plugin and looked for higher resolution textures
