This game is fantastic! I just finished playing through Metal Gear Solid 3 and enjoy it so much. The gameplay and music were solid, but what I really loved was the plot. Kojima and the others who worked on the story told such an incredible story through the game, and kept me hooked throughout. I accidentally skipped through the opening cutscene that features this song (oops) so I watched the cutscene on UA-cam and experienced this song in-game for the first time. Wow.
I considered arranging this tune for a vocalist, but in the end decided to just go it alone with a saxophone lead! The opening section with the rhodes and saxophone was kept at the original tempo as a slow introduction, but then... I took things in a totally different direction. I was inspired by a tune called "The Hornet" by the Yellowjackets, and decided to go for a retro 70's / 80's style groove! This ended up sounding like Snake Eater meets disco... which I'm totally cool with!

Snake you have created a time paradox
They play your version of this song on the high school radio station in my city often. One time, your version of this song started as i left the store, and ended right as i pulled into my driveway. It felt like a music video. Anyway, that's some serious talent sir, well played.

Most of the time was spent climbing a ladder.
Tbh as a sax player it doesn't take that long given that sax is a relatively easy instrument... But it's hard to make it sound good like that

Oddly enough, the bass guitar and the keys make it sound like a Persona 5 track. Wonderful rendition by the way. I love the jazz rendition, very NY Rush-esque. Shame that you guys did not have a drummer though.
Thanks a bunch! I really enjoy Persona 5's soundtrack, especially the slower tunes. And it would have been great to have a real drummer, of course. I've actually been recording drums using an electric kit for my more recent videos, so there is a real drummer in my newer stuff :)

It makes me happy beyond words that people are still making incredible covers of this incredible soundtrack more than a decade later.
My lord did I love this! A really emotional tune with great shifts in tone and mood all while really connecting to the core of what it meant in the game. All of the small Sax voices added here and there made many already cool parts hit even harder, and all the solos were beyond bodacious!! It's really easy to see all of your soul and flow is being poured into this, especially with the great editing from the game, new angles, and as always, your extra STANKY faces in everything! It all makes this awesome cover one of your great masterworks!!!😄

Wow... this is such an amazing arrangement -- it starts out so sorrowful, as if an expression of lament for Big Boss. Then it kicks into the driving middle section, and it feels like they're celebrating and dancing together (very Metheny feeling).
